Buttermilk Pie, like vinegar and sugar pies, are part of a category called Depression Pies. They are made with whatever is in the cupboard! we do our version with chocolate. Eggs, buttermilk, sugar, vanilla extract, a touch of flour. Served with whip cream.
Classic, no twists, this one is simple-served hot and delicious! Each one baked in cast iron. The batter is similar to the French pastry called a Financier-fluffy, crisp on the edges, and buttery.

From the minute you're close by, you'll smell the tantalizing scent of bbq. Once inside, it's cozy & quaint with professional service with a smile. We all had brisket sandwiches that were simply delicious.And you MUST ORDER THE PECAN PIE ALA MODE. Best ever!

This is the perfect place when you crave BBQ flavor. Authentic smoky flavor with perfect BBQ sauce. Minimalist plywood-wall decor, friendly service, generous portions, delicious sides. Avoid peak hours because it can get a little cramped. Free Street parking after 6 pm.

Jake was a fantastic bar tender! He made excellent recommendations, and had a great personality, gave us a tour of where they smoke the meat, asked if we wanted pictures! He was rad! We loved the burnt ends SO MUCH! I have never tried this place because I honestly had zero hope that a Seattle BBQ place would be good, but I was very pleasantly surprised! Not only by the food but by the restaurant culture, environment, and staff. The banana pudding was also excellent! I highly recommend trying this place out, and if you sit at the bar say what's up to Jake!

I passed by this place many times and finally had a moment to stop. My favorite were the pork ribs and greens but the briscuit and cowboy caviar were also good enough to order again. Yummy! Moriah was especially helpful at the bar

Five stars because it was really quite delicious, everyone in our party of 4 enjoyed their meals. We got a little of everything, myself the pulled pork. Added their sauce and it was yum. My corn bread was a bit dry for my liking but ok. The seasonal Brussel sprouts were probably my favorite part of my meal. I was excited for the hush puppies but didn't know they had jalapeños in them, I'm not a big fan of jalapeños so I only ate one. The restaurant was clean and about what you might expect. Our server was nice but very loud. I'm hard of hearing but I could hear her no problem. Overall I would come here again for sure.

I've been coming to Jack's for about 6 years now. It always hits the spot for texas bbq. The fatty brisket is my favorite (don't know why you would get lean brisket). Staff are always friendly and attentive. Recommend the collards as a side and also love the hush puppies with honey butter as a starter. Smoked ice tea is also a fun twist. They upgraded the menu recently but I like to stick to the classics.

They boost their food up WAY TO HIGH. Waiter came to us and said " we don't sauce our 12 hr cooked ribs and briskets, which will melt in your mouth, we just salt and pepper and let you decide on sauce!" Lol that right there straight up was a red flag. The ribs were on the dryer side and very bland. They give you like two pieces of brisket and you get one piece that's really good and soft. Other piece is chewy, dry and tastes like chewing gum. (I spit it out) The waiter will push you to buy a tomahawks steak also so beware of that. At least their chili and queso with chips were somewhat decent. I say if you're in the area and craving for bbq Texas food stop by. If not, it's not worth the trip.

Had my daughter's birthday party here on Sunday afternoon. It's better to make a reservation in advance. There were eight adults, two teenagers and two babies in attendance. We each chose what we liked and ordered. My husband and I chose the brisket plates and two side dishes: mac n cheese with cornbread and ranch beans with green beans for seasonal. We also ordered our own drinks. The man who helped us was friendly and provided good service. The brisket we had was delicious with the jalapeno BBQ sauce. I couldn't finish one plate so I took the rest home.This time it was a birthday party and everyone was enjoying the meal and having fun conversations. Thank you for good service and will come again!
