Ja' Grill Hyde Park

Don't know why this place doesn't have 5 stars all across. The food is bussin and the service is super attentive and quick. we got a bunch of sides and apps to try a little bit of everything and it was all spiced to perfection. Def spicy if you're a Wisconsin raised bb but luckily being from LA I was DYING for good food. This place did not disappoint. Will return!!

STOP serving COLD FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!As much as you charge, in NO WAY should I receive COLD CHICKEN PATTIES. I could have gotten better ones from the grocery store. For the amount of money you charge, it should be much better. The only reason why I even continue supporting this place is because of the BARTENDERS. They're good people.The food, however, has been slipping.

Raining, ran to the door at 8pm. Doors locked. Stated open til 10:00pm. Called, rude broad states closed. I mention 10pm. We closed. Please go elsewhere where they have professional services. 14 Parish.. thanks for being open!!!

I don't usually write reviews but tonight I had a hankering for some jerk chicken so we walked into Ja Grill Hyde Park..A spot i Love.... The Hostess was on the phone for quite a while... so we went and took a seat. She got off and asked us to return because she needed to seat us ".... in case there was a reservation" There clearly WAS NOT a reservation and the restaurant was 3/4th's empty. While we are waiting two guys came in behind us without a reservation and out of SPITE she went and gave them the table that we were waiting on. #JerkMove101 .... Had dinner at in china town :)

cute lil vibe. Fast service, and the music was good too! First time trying Jamaican food and wasn't disappointed.

Food is always tasty. I love the signature chicken dish that comes with the cabbage and beans are so good. The drinks are just right. The staff is usually very friendly as well. Try it for yourself.

This place was super nice! First time ever ordering since I don't live in the city. The ambience is nice. The only issue is the construction. It was hard to see the restaurant but I was able to find it, it was a bit from there. The waitress in the front was super nice and gave amazing customer service. She found my order within the quickness. The food was amazing. My only draw back was the chicken for me wasn't as tender as I thought it was going to be. Maybe due to the fact it was drums and not thighs. But everything was delicious. The rice has a savory but sweet taste to it and the cabbage was seasoned nicely. Not to heavily with spices because again you have the rice and beans with the stew chicken spices. Overall, I'd come back again. Next time, I'll get the oxtails. Also that Rum Punch!!!! Baby.... A hit! One good sip and it's lights out. Lol. I'll be back for that as well.

I ordered 2 oxtails dinners to see what they serve, if they care. And they don't couple pieces were not edible to hard. These mfkers served me a plate of oxtail carrots. You don't charge or sell the tip of the tail, because there is nothing there. No go reason to bother cooking that, other then to BS customers. Rice was dry and flavorless. Cabbage was delicious IF YOU THINK ABOUT GOING HERE STOPYOURSELF

Was pretty disappointed with our visit. I was leaning towards 2 stars, but the jerk chicken was tasty so that pulled it up. The service was pretty slow. The inside of the restaurant was pretty run down and really loud, so we opted to sit outside. I think some improvements to make the overall ambiance nicer and more elevated would go a long way! Food: - We started with the cocoa bread, which was really dry and not that tasty. - Jerk Shrimp was okay. Fine, but didn't leave me wanting me more. - Jerk Chicken was good! It was tasty and lots of food. I felt like this was the only dish we got that was worth the $$. The side of rice was kind of dry/tough, but I was happy with this dish. Had a little hiccup, but the manager made a great Recovery and I'm grateful for it!!Much respect as a former Restaurant owner!
