The very knowledgeable staff was excellent in providing all of the details of the grapes and wine we tasted. They were friendly and welcoming and the prices are very fair given the higher quality of the wines we tasted. Their very economical 2022 Readers Rose was exceptional without being too sweet. The 2021 Chapter 12 was one of the best wines that I have tasted in quite some time, just excellent. A beautiful patio area and one part was tented as well if weather is iffy. We were not crowded which was great also. We will be back and bring some friends next time! Highly recommended!

I love this tasting studio in woodinville! It is such a nice place to sit outside in the sun and enjoy good vibes and wine! Also they have a fun book club each month! Who wouldn't want to drink wine and talk about a good book? This tasting studio has a few fire pits outside on the patio too that makes me excited to come back on a summer night with the girls and just hang out. Also feel free to bring your doggos! They are dog friendly out on the patio.

I've been a member of Maryhill for years but never made it to J Bookwalter until yesterday during the Yelp event. I'm not a rose gal but theirs wasn't too bad. My favorite was the Conflict that had chocolate and cherry notes. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable and I walked away with a few bottles to enjoy at home. I love small boutique wineries and this one definitely has the perfect boutique winery feel. I'll be back soon

Two friends and I booked a reservation for a Saturday at noon on the patio. Since the weather turned out to be cloudy, there weren't many customers sitting outside. Normally, tables are reserved for up to 90 minutes, but since the patio wasn't full, they kindly let us sit there and catch up with each other for a few hours. The studio offers two different tastings - the Reader's Tasting ($15) and Luxury Tasting ($25). Each one comes with five wines. Our server explained that the wines in the Reader's set can be found in retailers, whereas I believe the ones in the Luxury set are their reserve wines. I got the Luxury tasting which came with two white wines and three red wines. It started off with 100% Chardonnay and ended with 100% Syrah. While I'm not a wine aficionado, I enjoyed trying the variety and did my best to detect the flavors as described on the menu. Their food options were pretty slim and we ordered three of their snack items to share. Contrary to earlier Yelp reviews, they no longer allow you to bring outside food in. + Parmesan Crisps ($6): These were prepackaged from the vendor, Joyful Bakery. They were thin, salty and nice to munch on.+ Hummus & Pita Bread ($6): Triangles of lightly toasted pita bread and some crackers came served alongside a small cup of red pepper hummus. The cup of hummus was tiny, so you could only spread a super thin layer on the bread. I thought it would have come with at least a small bowl of it.+ Patio "Picknick" ($15): This snack kit included Calabrese salami, provolone cheese, olives, fig jam and four small packs of crackers. I enjoyed the salami and cheese, but this item seemed pretty overpriced for what you get. The service was great! Our server poured each sample one at a time rather than in a "flight" style all at once. I could tell he was really passionate about wine as he energetically described each one. There were only two servers for all guests, so they had to constantly monitor all the tables outside and inside to judge when each person was ready for their next pour. The patio is perfect for sunny days as they have tables with umbrellas and also a tent with about six tables if you want some extra shade. Additionally, there is plenty of parking unlike some of the other wine spots in the area. My friends and I had a nice time here enjoying a little wine, each other's company and the springtime weather.

J Brookwalter stood out for my little wine tasting friends for a few reasons. While the ambiance is fairly basic and nothing of great note the service and the wine was delightful. I very much appreciated that we had options here. I opted for the Readers Tasting while my friends tried the Luxury Tasting. They very much enjoyed their wines trading tasting notes and discussing flavors. The staff here was very engaging. They told us the history, the grapes, the vineyard. They told us stories and asked us where we had gone. It was a very welcoming environment which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Such a fun theme. It feels like they could really amplify the storytelling in their website. Their employees live the product and love books. They even have a book club paired with one of their wines, which was fun. I only found a sav blanc I liked. All the others were not my favorite. The location is pretty subtle on the outside. It's in the parking lot on the backside of the Maryhill Tasting brick building.

Delightful and engaging staff enjoys sharing their delightful wines. This fantastic space is great for groups( make a reservation if more than 4 people) or by your self tastings. They have beautiful in door and out door seating and access to food near by allows for a fuller service kind of experience. Grab a friend and check them out. .

We stopped here for a Yelp Elite event and ended up buying a bottle of J Bookwalter's delicious 2021 5th Edition blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle to have there and took home about half the bottle to enjoy later on.This place is very well laid out for it's location with a large gas fire pit outdoors, outside covered seating, indoor seating with plenty of light and a wonderful staff. The Bookwalter family has been involved in agriculture and winemaking for over 40 years and have some wonderful wine options available. A great place to try out some delicious wines.

Had an amazing tasting experience today. Made most of the sunny day, by grabbing a table on the patio. It was just so good to soak in the sun and enjoy the little moments. Our sommelier was very knowledgeable and had a story for every pour of our tasting flight. The book theme is very fascinating - the editions, volumes, protagonist, suspense, conflict etc is just very creative. We did the Signature Series tasting flight where we got to try 2 whites and 3 reds. And we also got to try the Readers Riesling which ended up being our favorite of the day. It was so good that we both got bottles to take home. They even have a light nibbles menu but we didn't get any food as we had other dinner plans. I'll definitely be back with more friends to try more wines and maybe order some food from the Bistro nextdoor.
