My husband is from Trinidad, and we wanted to try this place as it was highly recommended to us. It was even better than I expected!The meat was fragrant, and bursting with deep flavors. I could have sat here all day and eaten until i had to be rolled out...We bought a home made hot sauce and we put that s@&t on everything. My mouth is watering just writing this review!

Let me start by saying I'm an adopted son of Trinidad and Tobago due to my marriage to my amazing wife. I have had some of the best doubles, aloo pies, curry goat and buss up shot meals ever back at T&T and let me say that J&D is up to something! The doubles are some of the best I've had in the states. The channa in the doubles are whole and not split as I am accustomed to, but it was still amazing. I would recommend slight to more pepper, sweet sauce and cucumbers. The curry goat was also delicious. It is a bit pricey, but each entree is like 2 servings, I can essentially have dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. They also have the traditional drinks like Apple J and Peardrax. We will continue to come back here and tell all of our friends about it.

My husband and I have supported this business for as long as they have opened. Davika and her husband are very pleasant, accommodating, and their passion for food and the business shines through.My kids love their aloo pies and doubles. We are fans of all their curries especially their goat and chicken and their pumpkin is to die for. The restaurant is always clean and never too crowded and noisy which makes your meal a good experience to enjoy.

This was my first time trying Trinidadian food, and I was told this is the closest thing you could get to the islands. We got the curry shrimp and the pepper shrimp special, both were so good. Service was kind and quick. I would def recommend this place to anyone wanting to try Trinidadian food!

I went to J&D, and it was excellent! The restaurant is in a strip in Katy. The space is small but with a good amount of seating. It's order at the counter. The environment is really upbeat, with Caribbean music playing in the background.All of the portions were huge, definitely enough to take home. We had a lot of great dishes, including:Doubles (4.5/5): Really tasty! The roti was great and the chickpeas were well cooked with a good amount of spice.Curry Chicken (5/5): Excellent. The chicken was cooked so well, and the sauce was really well spiced.Pumpkin (5/5): REALLY tasty, loved this dish.Fried Rice (3.5/5): The fried rice was pretty good, but not the standout.The roti was also great, cooked fresh and plentiful.I had a really great experience at J&D and would highly recommend it if you're looking for great Trinidadian food!

Definitely recommend J&D Caribbean! I ordered the Chicken curry with roti on the side, it for sure slapped! I will be back for lunch again.

Visited Houston for the second time, and stopped by J & D's for the first time, and there was no wait when I arrived. I ordered 3 rotis (1 curry goat and 2 curry chicken). Not knowing how big they would be, I was shocked and was highly satisfied with my purchase. The rotis were very filling and delicious. The restaurant's ambiance made it feel like I was back home in the Caribbean. Just seeing the owner interact with some of the customers, and knowing them by name was definitely a site to see. It made for a great first time experience. If I ever visit Houston again, I'll be definitely stopping by J & D's.
