Finally Izola reopened. These are the best Croissants in San Diego. The new location is Amazing. There is only one big problem... the Coffee. I tried a double Mocha, the milk wasn't steamed correctly at all, and the coffee has a weird taste. You can do better. Thanks to Alik for the great service.

VOTED BEST BAKERY IN AMERICA ! And once you have tasted their incredible sourdough bread and amazing croissants you will agree. My wife and I had a fun packed weekend planned down San Diego...Padres game on Friday night and Stray Cats on Saturday. FIRST UP ! Straight after breakfast early on Saturday we headed over to pick up our bread & croissant order at 10am. Of course this was the brand new location....from the ground up. When we arrived in the street out front it was obvious parking was going to be a nightmare. BUT THEN ! A dude in a BMW was waiting for his wife to collect their order and soon after we nabbed his street parking spot very close to the bakery. We headed over to join the long line waiting at the front entrance to collect their online orders. MEANWHILE ! I went for a stroll inside and was amazed how many people were sitting at the cute red table and chair patio sets. I hooked up with Jeffrey the co-founder / owner / master baker....we had a quick chat before he had to get back to work. Jeffrey always finds time for his customers and supporters. Eventually we picked up our online order...1 x Olive Toasted Pecan Sourdough and 1 x Almond Croissant. The best quality doesn't come cheap but believe me it's worth every cent. YOU ARE GONNA LOVE IT !CHECK OUT - my walk through video of IZOLA at https://youtu.be/agNE_Yf5g3YNOTE - Of course with 20 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics world wide in 2023 I can tell you what is great !

Everybody needs to try this place. An absolute San Diego essential. I came here once before when I was visiting the area and I've been thinking about it ever since. I finally came back and it was just as incredible as I remember. The new location has such a nice atmosphere with the open concept design and the lights and decoration were cute as well. I'm so glad they started doing preorders! I placed an order the night before and checked in at the counter when we arrived. We then sat down for dine in and waited for our bread and pastries. We ordered the Tahitian vanilla knot, regular croissant, and a sourdough flight. For the flight, we got three half loaves of plain, seeded multigrain, and cranberry pecan sourdough. Everything was sooo yummy. You can really tell how much care and craftsmanship goes into the food. Service was amazing as well. They accidentally gave us an olive pecan loaf instead of the cranberry pecan and they quickly brought us the cranberry pecan after we mentioned the mistake. We also got to keep the olive pecan. Can't wait to come back to San Diego just so I can come back to Izola!

It was my first time visiting Izola and I was not disappointed! I placed an online pre-order so I didn't have to wait, which I am very thankful I did because there was a long line when I got there. I ordered a butter croissant, a chocolate croissant, and a latte. The pastries were super buttery and flakey, it's one of the best croissants I've ever had!! Even though I pre-ordered, the person who helped me still gave me the option to dine-in. With the dine-in option, the staff would bring out plates and knives for you to share and enjoy your pastries. It was mainly street parking, but once you get into Izola, there is plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. I went on a Saturday and there was even live music! The staff were super friendly and helpful, I will definitely come back the next time I am in town.

Im so happy this place reopened! A must try if your in the area. If your a believer come get some bread and enjoy service after as it's connected to a church in the same building. So don't worry ...your in the right spot. I was a bit confused the first time I came. LolChocolate croissant is a must. So crispy and made to perfection. All the croissants and breads and freshly baked and they are so pretty! The line can get long but moves pretty quick! Parking: metered street parking/ parking structures around the area.

Quality, quality, quality! Worth a Tuesday morning commute from Mission Beach to East Village. I didn't realize that Izola was only having a soft open, but they still have a ton of items on their menu that I was eager to try. The quality was impressive! my boyfriend and I ordered a variety of pastries; everything crossiant, Moroccan crossiant, tahitian crust pastry, morning bit and an iced cappincho. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful and unique. This place is very dog friendly and located in front of a large dog park. Which creates a very unique and tranquil indoor outdoor vibe for the middle of the city. I loved the vibe and quality, and although there were some minor confusions around our order, the service was super tentative, kind, and fast! I will definitely be a returning customer!

I came around 8 am on a Saturday morning and the walk up line was fairly short with 3 groups in front of me. I ordered a handful of croissants and it was about $40. Pricey. Order came out in about 10 minutes.Croissants came out warm and flakey. Buttery but nothing I'd come back for.Patio area is nice but the neighborhood is dirty. Smells like urine outside the store and transients walking around.Parking - read signage and curbs, I had thought I parked in a 2 hour parking zone but did not see that the curb was a loading zone. I am not a local resident so very disappointed to receive a ticket which caused my experience to be quite negative :( ;(

I woke up this morning and felt like a croissant. Then I remembered that Izola recently reopened at a new location. I got there a little after 7 a.m., and the place was almost empty, which was nice, but by the time I was leaving, it was getting pretty busy. This new location is such a nice setting; it is open with lots of seating and faces the park. I got sourdough to go, a chocolate croissant, and a latte to enjoy. The croissant was buttery and yummy, and their latte was very good. It's a bit expensive, so it's definitely a treat, and they use good-quality ingredients. Also, the croissants are very big, so I ate half and took half home. The staff were very nice, and they came around to ask me if I needed anything else and how everything was. If you want to treat yourself with some croissant, recommend checking out this place.
