Ixtapa

While the food quality is good, and the service is fast, I noticed something odd when I got my credit card statement. I noticed that at least twice, they charged more than what I had written on the receipt. I guess they didn't think my 15% tip was enough. One time it was one dollar over, and another time it was $1.50 over. That's just wrong.

Great little restaurant, staff are always friendly and food is delicious. Location is a bit off the beaten path, so never a problem with parking or waiting for a table.

Reviews seem quite mixed so I stupidly decided to try for myself. An unbelievable waste of $60. I should've gone to Memo's in Everett instead. Would've paid $20 for the same meal and it would've been bomb. I am actually surprised at how bad this food was. The enchilada was meh but that was probably the best part. Everything else was barely flavored and gave me cafeteria nachos vibes. Idk... I'm sad about it. It's less than a mile from our new house so I had big dreams for finding great Mexican near home. Hah. Believe the reviews and overall star rating. I didn't even take photos... my tummy was too sad.

We just had lunch at 11am outside. The food is delicious and the Pico is home made. We brought a pinata and ate chips and salsa while we played with it. Delicious food...real and sooo fresh. We go there every few months. Well worth the drive. Outside can be noisy, as it is right on Rte 9, but again worth it.

In for lunch today... they don't have a lunch menu!Every other Mexican restaurant in town has discounted lunch menus; will go elsewhere in this tight economy.They don't have a cup of soup...? Only a bowl.Took 30 minutes to get our lunch-only 3 other tables had guests...Didn't have hardly any time tobest my BOWL of soup because it took so long to get it & I was on my lunch break.Way too many other choices nearby to do this again

If you want the saltiest Mexican food this side of the Mississippi then go here. Eaten here 4 times and each time progressively worse. Mind you I don't write bad reviews unless deemed necessary for national security!!I hope they read this and retrain the chef on spicing or hide the damn salt.

Absolutely terrible! $70 in food and threw all of it away. Can't remember the last time I had food this bad. Chicken fajitas we way over seasoned and cooked. Couldn't even eat it. The deep fried ice cream had nothing on it. It was supposed to have chocolate or strawberry syrup and whip cream and the Chile Verde is probably one of the most disgusting things I ever tasted. Meat tasted old and not cooked right. We usually like the Ixtapa in Monroe, but you'll never catch me ordering from this one again.

Excellent food and friendliest service around. I'm surprised to see the negative reviews, as we have dined here for years, and the food and service are consistently great (salsa is EXCELLENT). They are principled and kind people; and even insisted upon not charging me once when I forgot my wallet! Highly recommend!

Friendly staff, generous portions and great ambience. Definitely in the running for best restaurants in the middle of nowhere!
