First time visiting this establishment and we were so glad we went! Upon entering the vibe felt almost like a casual "bar and grill," very informal and rustic. We participated in their Valentines tasting menu, and can say that EVERY dish exuded not just sophistication, but distinct flavors, and food that felt just right. The balance was spot on, and the venison was THE BEST we have ever eaten. It's on the more expensive side, but if you're looking for something different, give this gem a try!

Came here a little after 9pm on a Friday night and got seated immediately. They were playing Soul Eater and Godzilla on different TVs around the restaurant so for any of you anime lovers like me, this is the spot for you hahaThey stopped serving food at 9:15 but luckily they let us order when we got a table. We ordered the salmon ochazuke and the scotch egg loco moco. The salmon was super soft and tender and with the broth and rice - it was a very home style cozy dish. The loco mochi was reallyyy good though - I've been craving Hawaiian food ever since I went for vacation a couple weeks ago and it definitely hit the spot! The rich gravy with the juicy meat and the yolk egg inside with the luscious Mac and rice mmm I'm getting hungry thinking about it haha! Overall the food was super good, but the only con was that it is on the pricier side. I didn't get a chance to try the drinks but next time!

If not for Seattle Met magazine saying this is a top 100 restaurant, I am unlikely to have stepped into this unassuming restaurant/bar on Jackson Street that has half of their windows blackened. They look like they are avoiding attention. For good reason, they have more than plenty of business! While their menu is modest, every dish we ordered is superbly executed - sumptuous and thoughtfully presented. Reservations are highly recommended. The place has sufficient tables, but they have many, many reservations. They were turning people away, especially those in groups more than two. The two of us waited for half an hour, and we were seated at the bar. Our server is a cool dude who was wearing a maid's outfit. Lost a bet? Do this every night? I didn't ask. Just let it be fun.The Food:Loco Moco Scotch-Egg, $25 - 5 StarsMenu: hamburger, egg, mac salad, rice This is hands down the most beautiful loco moco I have ever seen. Cutting it with a knife the cross-section shows the soft-boiled egg is perfectly centered with the giant ball of loco moco. Bravo! It is of course delicious, too.Furikake Salmon, $29 - 4.5 StarsMenu: king salmon, Best Food's mayo, black garlic molasses, mushy edamameFull disclosure that I asked if the mayo can be omitted. I don't actually where it would have gone. The salmon is perfectly cooked. The mushy edamame made for an excellent protein filled side. This is a very healthy protein and omega-3 ladened dish. Flavor wise, this dish isn't as inventive as the others (did the mayo affect that?), but the dish is nonetheless a thing of beauty.Yuzu Kauliflower Karaage, $14 - 5 StarsMenu: yuzu gastrique, lemon pepperThe yuzu flavor is the bomb!! Lightly breaded and impeccably flavored, these cauliflowers are yum! This dish must be one of their most popular dishes because they shouted "6 cauliflower left", and it wasn't even 7:30 yet. Aubergine Dengaku, $12 - 5 Stars Menu: compressed eggplant, misoyaki caramel, buldak sauce, wasabi pea furikake The description sounds like it could be a hot mess, but instead, it is inventively delicious. The idea of a compressed eggplant made it less mushy, which I like a lot. There is a firmness to the dish that makes it almost meaty. Again, yum!

I had high hopes for this spot because of all the raving reviews but it was just ok for us. Came with my husband on a rainy weekday night around 7pm. We were seated fairly quickly and service was friendly. The spot is really cool, maybe great to come with friends for drinks or happy hour. They had some anime playing on a tv screen and I like their restaurant logo. Parking on a weekday night wasn't too hard to find. We found street parking nearby. Their menu is on the smaller side. We ordered their creamy corn udon, katsu curry, and chicken wings to share. Portions were decent but the food took a really long time to come out that night. Maybe around 30-45 minutes. The wings weren't too great. The sauce was ok but the chicken wings were soggy for us. The udon wasn't too flavorful, it was heavy on the cream. The highlight for us was the Tikka tonkatsu curry. The curry was very tasty and overall was the best dish for us. Not sure if we would come back for the food but the atmosphere was pretty cool.

The menu items here were what drew me in to this spot and they did not disappoint. For a party of two, we definitely ordered more with our eyes, but everything just sounded so good that it was hard not to! We had the oysters, Seattle dog musubi, and loco moco scotch egg. The loco moco scotch egg was actually so filling that I had a good amount of leftovers. Looking forward to returning soon since service was friendly and attentive, and the food was tasty. I still need to try the oxtail risotto and tikka tonkatsu don!Highly recommend making reservations in advance, as the restaurant tends to get full pretty often.

The food here is heavily fusion. There are slight Japanese influences but most of the flavors I felt came from other cuisines. This led to a very creative dining experience which I throughly enjoyed and found very interesting. My friends and I ordered most of the main dishes and ended up sharing everything (we had a large party). The servers are very nice and at the end of our meal even brought out a small desert for me, as it was my birthday. I personally found the Yuzu kauliflower karaage super good. My favorite main was also the oxtail soup risotto, a super creamy and flavorful dish.

An amazing culinary experience! I'm sad the menu is always changing so I didn't get to try everything I wanted when visiting but the food was so good. My only thing is you need to order some apps and an entree to feel full, especially if you're going hungry

Menu options are limited and it's more in the fusion side. I noticed that some of the menu mentioned or shown are different so don't expect some of the photos to have what you want-- check website. Cocktails were alright and everything was pretty good too, but not amazing. I would say the eggplant stood out the most out of what we got. Looks small, but there are seatings in the back as well as a bar seating area. Service is ok too. I'm not sure if I would go again unless the menu looks like it'll catch my eye, but decent experience!(Didn't take a lot of pics, oops)

The most beautiful eggplant I have ever seen or tasted. I would not have believed that I would be full after eating half an eggplant and a bowl of cauliflower, but the flavors here were so rich and the veggies so hardy that I left absolutely satisfied. The eggplant ahem /aubergine/ is unlike anything I've ever eaten. Somehow so soft and so umami. They top it off with this yummy furikake. The cauliflower is tossed in the most beautiful sauce. It's tangy it's sweet. The cauliflower still has a great crunch to it.Grabbed some excellent drinks as well. Really excited to try more from this place!

Service was just okay. Food was not rave worthy. Drinks were good! Felt so let down, especially given the reviews were so great and heard a lot of good things. We did make a reservation for 4 people and were seated right away! However, food menu is quite limited. Overall, I think it's a fun one-time experience given their unique cocktails but I would not return for their food. Food order:- Yuzu Cauliflower Kaarage; highlight of the meal- Hamachi Crudo; yellowtail was a little fishier than some of us preferred - Mushroom Mapo Tofu; quite mushy! Rice felt overcooked- Oxtail Soup Samin; no complaints, but was not noteworthy. Did remind me of pho a little given the broth but was on the salty sideDrink order:- White Whabbit; amazing!!! So unique! - Daiquri; good! - Jackson St Lemonade: loved this one too!- Jackson St Lemonade (MOCK): way too sour, like you could feel it. Huge difference between the cocktail and mocktail version
