Its In the Filling

Oh my goodness ... not sure where to begin. Customer service -- she's very professional. Posts when she's going to take a break to bake. She responds in a timely manner, and by that I mean within the same day if messaged at a decent time. The cupcakes -- my favorite was the spicy strawberry lemonade. Something about the lemon in the frosting. However the rest of the family picked the remaining flavors as their personal favorite. The strawberry jam is so tasty. Overall we loved them all.

I tried It's In the Filling at their Chula Vista Lemon Festival booth. I love how they committed to the theme of the festival with so many lemon dessert options like cookies, cake, cheesecake, and lemon bars. The lemon curd cake cup was delicious, layered with crumbles of cake, buttercream (or similar) frosting, and lemon curd. The lemon white chocolate cookies are chewy and delicious. The lemon flavor is lighter than lemon curd but has a great balance of sweetness and flavor with the added white chocolate chips. The prices were decent with each item I got being $6. I'd love to check out more treats from It's in the Filling!

Tried at a Escondido Center For The Arts Concert. It's literally a little explosion of flavor in your mouth. Awesome. The cake was a taddd dry but it made up for it with the unique flavor. I need more lol!!

They served food at our school for our culture night, it was delicious. 100% recommend. the servers/owners were so kind, i will be buying from then again!

Samantha the owner of "It's in the filling" has always amazed me with her pastries and customer service. I drive to the events she's working just to pick up some delicious goodies from her. My favorites are the Mazapán and Duvalin cupcakes and the amazingggg tres leches. Those customers below leaving bad reviews are very unfair and cruel. And just want things for free.

UPDATE:She blocked my number after I expressed that I was unhappy and refused to give any refund. She instead replied with "See you in court." Never in my life have I encountered someone so cold and unwilling to right their wrong. How could you ruin someone's birthday and be okay with it?Horrible person. Previous review:As a person, you seemed very kind which makes me reluctant to write this review.Never before in my life have I paid $450 + dollars for a cake that was so plain in design and sloppily made. The presentation and flavors were underwhelming. Fortunately I had the foresight to buy statues which I placed on the cake to try to make up for the poor work ethic. The amount of sugar I tasted throughout the whole thing was disappointing, it was impossible to escape. I'm deeply saddened that I bought a cake like this for my sister's one, and only, Quinceñera.I'm not exactly sure how to express the amount of disappointment I feel through this review. The cake was sagging, there was ribbon on the cake AND it was cut improperly, there was absolutely no design to it. The fact that not a single person ate their cake embarrassed me.Quite literally, there is an inch of sugar filled buttercream around the entire cake.I chose to trust in this person's ability and went against my better judgement, should have taken the negative reviews into higher consideration. First and last time I order a cake from here.

The best desserts out there I am in love with her tres leches jars. I've never seen anyone sell cake in a jar and though it was super cool not to have to buy a whole cake or wait for someone's birthday to be able to enjoy a delicious tres leches cake with strawberries. She posts to her Instagram when she will have bake sales and how to go about ordering and offers a reasonable window for customers to pickup. I'm all about supporting small businesses and glad I can get a delicious treat from Sam!

Best baked goods around. Never disappointed. Accommodating, creative, on time all around great service and excellent baked goods. Highly recommend.

Unprofessional owner/operator, wouldn't recommend to anyone. Rude, judgmental, and not the type of person worth doing business with. YMMV but reach out at your own risk.
