Istmo Oaxacan Cuisine

We made it back after only a few weeks. The food was again delicious. The portions and price were perfect as well. Everything is made from scratch and you can certainly taste it! Even though just opening very recently the team worked perfectly together with quick and accommodating service. We are excited to come back and try the other menu options.

It was meh. Me and my friends ordered 3 entrees and the blue corn pancakes to share. Portions are SMALL. Even if we did not share, you won't be full by just ordering an entree for yourself.Food's temperature was like it was probably sitting and was waiting to be taken to our table. The pancake was cold considering they also warned us that it'll take 15 minutes to make. Also just realized that the menu says that the Entomatadas is "served with black beans" but it didn't come with it.The people were very friendly. It was packed when we arrived, and I felt bad for the table next to us. They were seated first, but our order came out before theirs... and it also took time for our food to come out. Definitely left the restaurant still hungry. The only thing I loved were the crafted mugs.

Istmo is quite the change from the other spots along Clark st. They are in the soft opening stage, and are ready to go. The menu is creative and has the traditional mexican breakfast/brunch items. The chilaquiles had a nice flavor without over the top heat. They have great coffees including cafe de olla. I can't wait for the full menu and drinks to launch

Food tastes good, but portions were small. Service was good, but food was slow since there were a lot of people. Would come back after a few months just to check.

I wanted to come and try this restaurant, but they need to improve, their service was very slow, they took a long time to take the order, their food, their flavor is delicious, the problem is that the chilaquiles were cold, the four orders of chilaquiles were cold and so we no longer enjoyed them.

Very overpriced, portions are rather small, menu titles LIE about the actual product. I will make SURE my family does not return. thanks mexico

We just had a VERY good "late-breakfast" this morning. We were surprised to find out it was their opening day. We will definitely return!
