I wish I would of found this delicious restaurant a lot sooner because I am obsessed . The Korean chicken is perfection. It's very flavorful and you get a great portion . I really enjoyed the pork fried rice, it's delicious and so is the macaroni salad. As soon as you walk to the restaurant you smell the most delicious smelling aromas . It brings a smile to my face . I was also impressed with the service. They are very friendly and welcoming . I highly recommend eating here.

Updating my review, I think it was at their old location when I reviewed this place. I have been going here consistently, I have to say that I quite enjoy everything. Every now and then Kalbi is a bit dry but it happens so we just keep coming back of course.I usually call ahead of time and have no problem getting the food hot and ready for me. We have never sat and ate there so no comment on that but overall it's nice to have quick delicious Hawaiian food .

My husband and I came here on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was just about full and people kept coming in by the minute. We ordered at the register and then luckily found a table to dine at. The restaurant has a nice island feel filled with Hawaiian music and decor. For food I ordered the Portuguese Sausage Loco Moco which was a fried egg on top of Portuguese sausage and white rice topped with gravy. The portion was huge and definitely hit the spot! Delicious gravy and the egg was cooked perfectly! I just wish this dish had a bit more gravy! My husband ordered the Kalbi Korean Mix and all I can say is wow! The chicken was so tender and had a nice light crisp! The flavor was a bit spicy and sweet! The dish also came with the option to choose white rice, pork fried rice or potatoes and either macaroni salad or green salad. We chose the Mac salad and pork fried rice and it was probably the best decision! I'll definitely come back again once I'm in the area!

So just a week before, we had returned from Waikiki, missing the Aloha Spirit and delicious food we ate there all week. We Yelped "Hawaiian restaurants" and lo and behold, Island Style Cafe appeared.I still remember their old location at Tierrasanta and used to get their Spicky Korean Chicken and Loco Moco there. I was hoping this new location would measure up and it exceeded my expections. The gal that assisted us was super sweet and had our food out in record time. Portions are HUGE and the co-habby and I could've easily shared one plate. But of course, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, per usual. We left there stuffed but still wanting something sweet after. Butter Mochi fit the bill and was the perfect finish to an awesome lunch. Lots of flavor and plenty of food for lunch the next day.So happy that they are back in business as I truly missed their cafe. Can't wait to return to fill our bellies again!

Husband ordered the pick 2, kaula pork and teriyaki chicken...Mac had a little too much mayo. I had the coconut curry chicken...a little too sweet. Grandson had an omelette. He said he liked it, but wouldn't order it again. Had 2 orders of musubi...a little too much rice for the thin spam that they used and no teriyaki sauce on it.All-in-all, if we go back, I'd order what my husband ordered.

I ordered the Kalbi and Korean chicken plate. I felt they skimped on the Kalbi rib because it was all bones and a thin strip of meat on it. I was expecting more than 1 slice of rib but maybe I read the menu wrong. It had good flavor though. The Korean chicken had great flavor but soggy. Mac salad was missing some flavor. I felt like the plate was all Mac salad and rice with just some chicken and 1 Kalbi rib. When you are in Hawaii, plate lunches are stacked, overflowing. Didn't feel like it this one occasion. Willing to try them again though. They were friendly.
