Island Loco

Oh my God. Jeff, I am so sorry. I just realized tonight that I had never reviewed your truck. Island Loco used to be a 'regular' on Wednesdays at my old office downtown. I lived in Hawaii and know good Polynesian cuisine but Jeff and the Island Loco crew bring the islands here...for real. Some tips: The fusion tacos are awesome -- the corn and black bean salsa is to die for. The kalua pork is great, but my favorite was a simple teriyaki chicken bowl with a side of mac salad. But if you really want the money dish, be sure to get whatever entree you like with a side salad and the extraordinary sesame dressing Jeff makes. Wow. So much umami! I'm a customer for life if he ever bottles and sells that dressing. Hey, Jeff...get going on that and you'll be rolling in cash!

We recently used Island Loco to cater a welcome party the night before our wedding. They brought their food truck to the house and served a handful of items from their menu. We had about 80 people at the party and everybody loved the food! The service was excellent and there were no issues with timing or getting the food out. I had at least half a dozen people tell me that the teriyaki chicken is the best they've ever had and I would agree! I wish we lived in the Phoenix area so I could eat here on a regular basis! I would highly recommend Island Loco and we will definitely be tracking them down next time we are in town!

Tonight was the first time i heard of this place while scrolling through GrubHub trying to decide what to order for my lazy night dinner, Ordered The Teriyaki Chicken Fusion Tacos and they were DELICIOUS. Flavors that blended so well together. Can't wait to order from them again !!

Ordered the Kaarage Fried Chicken sandwich with spicy slaw and furikake fries. The chicken was perfectly crispy even from a Postmates order! So were the furikake fries, I am impressed with the quality.

So had to try this truck so I'm down for Hawaiian food. I ordered the lunch plate combo with kalua pork & teriyaki chicken, scope of rice and Asian cole slaw. I ended up eating the rice 1st 2nd chicken and mixed the pork with the cole slaw. The pork by itself tasted a little dry, the cole slaw added a much needed drench of flavor. The chicken was chewy but good. They give you big portions but i wish the meat had more flavor since the reviews are sided to this? I would try this truck again

This place is ABSOLUTE FIRE. My boyfriend and I went here just coming in from our long drive from Cali to Arizona. We wanted to go to ikea but we were starving and I found this place. The portion sizes are absolutely amazing and I will definitely come back when i'm out here again.

I will say without hesitation that this is the best food truck I've ever had. Ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Burrito Bowl with a side of macaroni salad from a chipper and witty man working the window. Wound up with a full meal for less than $10. Everything about this meal was spot on, every ingredient, every cooking method. It pains me that I do not have regular access to this food. The truck came to my workplace for lunch. If they opened up a brick and mortar nearby, I'd be there twice a week.

This truck is amazing, we moved to Phoenix and we're hoping we'd find new favorite food spots. Luckily our apartment had a special event with this truck there giving free fusion tacos and we fell in love. The teriyaki chicken with corn and black bean salsa is delicious, especially topped with sriracha. We've become regulars here, not just for the food but the friendly staff of the truck. I definitely recommend trying this truck, you won't be disappointed.

Pretty good! We tried some kalua pork tacos and malasadas at the Street Truck Festival. The kalua pork tacos were pretty small, with more of a focus on the pulled pork rather than the taco as a whole. The meat was moist, and had a nice flavor, although I do feel that Golden Hawaiian BBQ has better kalua pork. The malasadas were the "Secret item" of the day (Show them their Secret Item picture from Twitter and you will get them in a little paper bag). This was my first time trying them, and they reminded me a lot of Chinese-style doughnuts. It had a nice sugary outer coating, with soft fried dough on the inside. If they are in the area, I'd definitely like to try Island Loco for more Hawaiian style eats!

We hired the Island Loco food truck for a work event yesterday, and I couldn't have more positive things to say! The food was amazing and all of our guests loved it (some even got an extra meal boxed to go!), the staff was incredibly kind and professional, they were very communicative from start to finish, and lastly the pricing is amazing for the amount and quality of food you receive. I will definitely be keeping them in mind for future events, and would absolutely recommend them to anyone.
