Island Life Foods almost always trumps other food options whenever I see them at the farmer's market or community festivals, unless there is something I haven't tried before. The food is always bomb and never disappoints. The poke is high quality and they serve generous portions! The mac salad is the perfect side and pairs with everything they serve as well. I am not a big meat eater either but their tri-tip is cooked to perfection and seasoned in the best way.Shout out to the lovely people working the cashier and the cooks throwing it down, especially on those hot summer day!

Stopped by at the Hilcrest farmers market and so happy I did! This is the best Hawaiian food I've ever had! I got the IG plate (a lil bit of everything) and it was all cooked to perfection. I also loved seeing the family work together behind the register. So cute!

Absolutely delightful. My first note is that Yelp only has their hours listed for one of their farmer's markets. I found them at the Hillcrest farmers market and think they are a regular at several others. The quality of this pop-up is amazing. Everything was packed with flavor and tasted so fresh. We shared the surf & turf nachos and a small poke. The portion for the nachos was GENEROUS. We didn't plan to have leftovers, but will definitely be enjoying the rest later this afternoon. Service was so fast & friendly even with a long line as the farmer's market crowds started to pick up. It's a new favorite for me & I look forward to enjoying them again!

This is by far the best meal at the OB Farmer's Market. I've tried most booths and I keep coming back here every time. The meats are all absolutely excellent and they don't skimp by any means. They cook it all in front of you and I'm always surprised and how quickly they can get everything cooked to perfection. Service only takes a few minutes and it's a great spot at the end of the block. The tri tip is my favorite but the ribs and chicken are just as good.

I've tried this food stand at the OB and Hillcrest Farmer's markets. The fish is undoubtedly fresh, but both times the poke was excessively salty. On my last visit, the fish used in the spicy poke felt a little mushy and I wonder if it was a different fish or if the texture changed after marinating. The Mac salad is good but the rice texture is a little dry. I've also tried the tri tip, which I found to be dry and over cooked. I would stick to the poke and possibly rolls. Hoping they use a lighter hand with the salt though.

The sky was clearer and brighter than anywhere else I have been. The food bursting with flavor. I miss Hawaii. Now it looks like I have a chance to eat Hawaiian food again at Island Life Foods. I was wandering the Ocean Beach Farmers Market looking for a place to eat when the scent of bbq drew me here. Scent of meat cooking on the grill was irresistible.I ordered the Da I.G. Plate. I watched as my dinner was grilled. Rice was moist and had what tasted like huli huli sauce drizzled on. Love the flavors from the mild tasting rice and the sweet sauce. Chicken was tender and the huli huli sauce gave a sweet and tangy flavor. Seared tri tip was tender and full beefy flavor while the sauce added sweet and tangy flavors. Puleahu pork ribs were tender and full of flavor. I miss the delicious plate lunches I had in Maui. Island Life Foods plate lunch was fresh off the grill and bursting with delicious flavors just like I remember. Service was friendly and speedy. I'll be visiting the Ocean Beach Farmers Market again to eat more delicious Hawaiian food.

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this booth at the OB farmers market about 6 months ago. It's been a weekly must have ever since. Not only is the food amazing and the portions generous, Chef Maui and his wife Jenn are some of the kindest and most genuine and generous people ever. So do yourself a favor and stop by and see them or consider using their catering at your next event. I know I definitely will.

The food is consistently ono, and makes me miss home!!! I especially love the Huli Huli Chicken! Chef Maui, Jenn, and Ikaika are a hard working family that truly care about their community. Their passion shows through in their generous portions, delicious food, and presentation.Fun fact... Chef Maui has won 1st, 2nd (twice), and 3rd place at the annual "I Love Poke" competition. Youngest Chef to have done so thus far. He has been perfecting his poke long before it was a thing in San Diego.Mahalo Island Life Foods!!! Maui no ka oi

Pro-Tip: Order in advance through their Instagram to secure your food! Get the dockside special! You won't be disappointed (granted only if you come in with certain expectations)Island Life Foods is incredibly fresh seafood bowls, served right off the docks of Tuna Harbor Dockside market. The uni is the freshest you can possibly get with it being freshly cracked to order. They ran out of sweet shrimp and literally just brought more straight from the fishing boats. The only downside is the rice (after frequenting this business for awhile, I honestly just bring my own rice in a Tupperware) It's always kinda mushy and definitely not sushi rice. They are not classically trained sushi chefs by any means. The amaebi was good, but the rice was hardly holding together. The shoyu poke is a little too salty, so you definitely need the rice but it's just not that good. However, let the quality of the fresh seafood speak for itself!

I can't say enough how the Island life food's "the Daig plate" was so delicious. I'm a very picky eater, and it's very hard to find tasty food. My husband brought it as a surprise when he went to the OB market. I already can't wait to go there and get me another plate. I fell in love with Island life foods for the first time like I fell in love with Maui. Thank you so much for the amazing experience My deep condolences for the people of Maui
