My family stopped in for lunch and the place was pretty full for a Sunday afternoon. We had a short wait but it was a nice day and there are benches and outdoor seating where you can wait. Our meals were good, we all ordered soup, chowder and lobster bisque to start. Very flavorful starts, and excellent service. Our waitress was very attentive. Our meals were a good portion size and we all had doggy bags to take home. Prices are reasonable considering the sizes of the meals. Looking around at what others ordered around me and their portion sizes seemed large and appetizing. I will return again in the near future.

We had breakfast at the Island Cafe during a holiday weekend. There were 3 gals on the floor running the Saturday morning breakfast shift.Gal 1 was our greeter. She didn't even look at us or say anything. She just grabbed some menus, took us to our table and took our coffee order.Gal 2 was our waitress. She was kind and took our order quickly.Gal 3 was in charge of bussing the tables.While these 3 ladies were waiting for food orders, and not waiting on customers, they all looked tired, sad and annoyed. No smiles, no talking to each other. It was quite amusing since they were on full display to the customers while standing behind the breakfast bar.The food was pretty good, but the ambience was terrible. These gals definitely need to be cheered up.

Wife and I needed a filling breakfast and we both got what we came for. The wife had the Island Omelette while I had the Western Omelette. Service was good, ambience was nice - kind of reminded me of going to a local place where I grew up. Amazing food and funky atmosphere!!!! Sorry no food pics - I had left my phone in the hotel room!!!

The waitress was hard-working and amazing. As far as the food goes, it was all pretty much very basic and canned bland. For the price, I feel it was very much over inflated. I shouldn't have to spend $20 for a French toast and eggs and the coffee was so bitter it tasted like metallic burnt carbon. We stopped at the Island Cafe because we had visited the Island Cafe in Anacortes recently for breakfast. Maybe it's the same owners and maybe not.It was not quite dinner time and the cafe was empty other than employees. The location was very nice and typical restaurant appearance. It was clean. Our server was fast, friendly and very good. We were a little surprised with the menu. It seemed expensive for the type of restaurant and the items. However, the food was good. Would we go back? ... probably not as we're only in the area for another few days and it was expensive!

Almost everything is microwaved. We asked about the oven roasted turkey special and why it was grilled on a flat top, the chef said it's precooked then reheated.

Hands down my favorite diner-type eating in Oak Harbor. It's like Cheers, but for pancakes and coffee. The staff are friendly and remember their regulars fondly. I wish I could afford to go every week!Edit - and now they deliver! Winning!

Once again another outstanding breakfast at Island Cafe. I apologize for ordering the breakfast burrito, again!, but what can I say? It's awesome!I feel as though I definitely get my money's worth with this item. It is loaded with sausage (you can choose between sausage, bacon, or ham), lots of scrambled eggs, and vegetables.It also includes a heap of hashbrowns that are super tasty, but I force myself to take the "healthy" alternative and pay extra for the fruit plate.Sometimes I do order one of their omelets, and they come with hashbrowns and toast.Island Cafe is my destination of choice for breakfast not just for the food, but the service is friendly, fast, and courteous! I have no complaints with the atmosphere nor the cleanliness. I always look forward to the next time I can visit!!

I usually come to island cafe for breakfast, which is delicious but tot day I got their Orchard Salad and it was amazing. my husband got the Cobb salad and remarked "they definitely don't skimp on the meat." every time we come the staff are super friendly. The ambiance is casual and welcoming.

We stopped by for breakfast and were seated quickly. My husband got an omelette and he liked it. They were quick to refill the coffee. I got the French toast, eggs and bacon, which was good, although the scrambled eggs were uninspired. The place was clean and the staff was friendly.
