Tried this for the first time yesterday. I got the oxtail platter. Was a little sad because I thought the platter came with plantains, festival and 2 other sides of your choice but it didn't :(. The oxtail was good though. Just beware that the sides won't include festival & plantain!

Aye i'm not even gonna lie I was overly disappointed. All my coworkers had bought the food and told me it was good so i was really excited. I got the shrimp jerk fries...imagine my surprise when i got shrimp fries cheese sauce and bbq sauce...it was SO BBQ tasting like i was shocked. i'm african, i've had good carribean food, and this was not up to my expectations at all. the service was good. i don't know if i should've got a plate and not the fries or what but y'all need to see bout that recipe. get a grandma in the kitchen or something. and this is me trying to see yalls business win ! again the service was great.

Great service! Pretty unique location. I have tried curry and their jerk options and couldn't be more satisfied with the quality of the food! Definitely recommend giving it a try!

Had the jerk chicken and jerk shrimp plate and both were very good. There are not many Jamaican food places near the Laveen area so whenever Island Boyz is in the area it is always a nice place to satisfy those Carribean cravings! Only downside is there is not a bigger variety of Jamaican food available. Being that they operate out of a food truck may very well be the case but maybe one day they can serve up some oxtails :)

Alright, folks, buckle up because there's a whole lot that went into my rating of this place, and it's about to get spicy! I decided to step up my game and order the jerk pork with rice, festival bread, and a fruit punch. Oh boy, did I underestimate the heat! I mean, I was trying to be all grown-up and ordered the spicy version. Chile, that thing burned me up, but let me tell you, it was so dang good! We couldn't even make it out of the parking lot before we demolished that food. It was a full-blown taste bud explosion! Now, let me confess something. I enjoyed it so much that I went back the very next day. And get this, it's not just a hop, skip, and a jump away from my place. Nope, it's a solid 35-minute drive each way. But let me tell you, my friends, it was worth every minute on that road. The food was that incredible! But wait, there's more! I discovered that they cater too. And you know what that means? I might just commission them for my 50th birthday bash in August. Can you imagine the epicness of that? Their scrumptious delights gracing my special day? It's a party that will be talked about for ages! So, my dear food lovers, don't walk, don't stroll, don't even mosey on over to this place. No, my friends, you need to run! Run like your taste buds depend on it because their food is absolutely, positively, mouthwateringly delicious! Trust me, this is a culinary experience you do not want to miss out on.

Yes, this is a food truck. I was aware they would be in Tempe when we were there, so we made a point of stopping for lunch after an appointment.I, of course, ordered the jerk chicken. After all, you have to try their namesake. It was very tasty. I liked it. It was just a bit pricey, but the quantity was reasonable. My wife and I were able to share a single order. The food tasted fresh.I would patronize them again.

I'm not even too sure about the 3 stars. My girl had the jerk chicken burrito and it was too spicy for to eat it. And at $13 it should at least be digestible. I got the jerk pork for $20 for a small plate. TWENTY DOLLARS for lunch!!!! Ridiculous...3 stars....ahhhh! No going to 2. The pork was chewy and over cooked. The flavors were there but not prepared or warmed up properly. Maybe a proper food warmer would help. Rice and peas...?!? Ehh! Veggies flavorful, but look boring. Need more coloring. Red peppers perhaps? Love the self serve POS system though. I can order without you being bother. Dope!!! Looking forward to what's next. Still can't finish the jerk chicken burrito... too HOT!!

I ordered from island boys on New Year's Eve and was craving oxtails, rice and beans with the fried plantains. I ordered my wife the jerk shrimp. When we received the meal it was cold, cold and it wasn't worth the $29,$21 paid for the meals. The flavoring was alright however the rice and peas were hard. The shrimp was tough as though it was over cooked. The plantains were pretty good. I believe that they were the highlight of the meal. I probably won't be going back to them for a meal any time soon.

Ate at the food truck today in downtown Phx (3200 N Central) - and the food was delicious. I had their jerk chicken burrito and plantains and it tasted amazing. They were also very friendly. I would recommend!
