Mmmmmm Ishoni was goood. I went on a Saturday night with reservation and got seated right away. Service was great - our server was polite, friendly and efficient.Food:- Beef Combo (5/5): Delicious! The quality was excellent and the portion was just right. It was perfect for two people.- Mushroom Medley (5/5): I love mushrooms so this dish was a must-have. I'm happy to report that it did not disappoint. One thing to note is that it takes a while to make the dish, so expect to wait about 20mins. - Clam Soup (0/5): It was more like clam water to me. Like literally, clams in hot water with some ginger and green onions to garnish. There was absolutely zero flavor to the dish. I was so disappointed! On top of that, the clams were somewhat fishy too. Do not recommend. - Side dish: cucumber (3/5), and kimchi (4/5). - Panna Cotta (3/5): Good thing is it wasn't too sweet, but it was nothing special. Drinks:- Lychee Beer (5/5): Yes get this! Tasty strong lychee flavor, yum. - Premium Sake Flight (2.5/5): Ehhh it was alright. Pretty pricey for 3 shots of sake. I wouldn't order it again. Overall, I enjoyed the meal a lot and would totally come back.

I would recommend this for Japanese bbq. It's somewhat pricey but the quality of the meat reflects it.

An excellent spot for yakiniku. It's our second time dining at here and both times we gotten the Ishoni Beef combo. The combo platter included premium beef tongue, flap meat, beef rib finger, beef short rib karubi, and wagyu beef short rib karubi. The price point is reasonable especially for the quality of meats. Rice is not included with the combo and will be an additional charge. We've also tried both the fried chicken and gyoza appetizers. Both dishes came out freshly made and still piping hot. They don't have a full bar, however they do offer a good selection of sake and a few cocktails. I ordered a bottle of their Dassai Nigori to go with our meal.Service is prompt. They consistently check on the grills and offer to replace if needed. Water glasses are always refilled. Restaurant ambience is relaxed and the communal table grilling is perfect for date nights.

The perfect spot for an intimate sushi date night! I love their sushi platters and nigiri plates. With a great selection of fish, roll combinations, and small bite appetizers, it's hard to go wrong. The nigiri was perfect, each bite was fresh and the fish was not drowning in rice. It really allowed the fish to shine (as it should). Service was a little slow, but just be patient, we could all use and give a little more Grace these days. I was lucky to sit facing the sushi bar, and was able to see so many yummy sushi rolls and nigiri plates come out before being served. The food envy hit me on another level. I'll absolutely be back to explore more of this menu and share this spot with others.

All the food here is simple, but done incredibly well! The Ishoni Beef combo is highly recommended. They serve a few slices each of various cuts of beef, including a Wagyu short rib. Everything is incredibly high quality, and every bite is marbled in fat and melts in your mouth. They also served it with a garlic butter dip heated on the grill, which was a nice addition! The restaurant itself feels really polished and clean with grills at every table! Will definitely be back for more grilled meats soon

Ishoni used to be our fav spot when they were in the Bellevue location. Since the move to Seattle, we noticed they expanded their menu but portion seems smaller and higher prices. Service is still great and taste is good but not the same. We will still visit Ishoni whenever we have the Japanese bbq craving.

I have been here two times, and I had a good experience both times! We have had an ishoni beef combo both times and it is a good selection and high-quality cut of meat combo. Thick-cut Beef tongue is a must! It is so juicy and delicious. It's marked limited on the menu, so make sure to ask your server if it's available. We have tried the A5 truffle sandwich two times. One order can serve 4 people (4 mini sandwiches) and the server cooks for you. It is good but I am not a big fan of it, because it is a little pricey and not that mind-blowing. FYI, Mandatory 18% tips for 4 people party. usually my bill is $70+Make a reservation before you come, I have seen some walk-ins were turned down on busy days or be informed of at least 1-hour wait; Parking is difficult because it's Capitol Hill, so be prepared and leave early. The restaurant is clean and the servers are nice.

Located in Capitol Hill, Ishoni Yakiniku is a delicious spot for Japanese BBQ. For starters, we had fried calamari and fried chicken for a crispy treat and the Spicy Beef Stew. The fried appetizers were tasty while the spicy beef stew was a huge portion. The Ishoni Beef Combo comes with a selection of beef, which were all very delicious. We were also excited to try the Ochazuke, which is green tea over rice. It includes either salmon or mentaiko on top and was a crowd favorite. I also enjoyed the Lychee Beer.

Ishoni bbq is amazing! The meat is tender, fresh, and well-marinated. Whether you use their dipping sauce or not, the meat tastes great either way. The cuts are done perfectly - not too thick, not too thin. They cook evenly, which is great.Though the grill itself is uneven. Yes, it is expected that the sides would be cooler than the center, but in this case it is by a lot. Meat on the sides don't really cook at any kind of speed.Service can be a bit slow at times, but usually not too bad.Sides and other dishes are great too.The food is also extremely expensive. I could eat at Niku Niku for a third of the price.Regardless though, the food is good enough that I am willing to ignore the cost and give this place five stars.

Exploring self grill perfection in Seattle! Wagyu cuts that redefine indulgence, tantalizing Donburi bowls, and drinks that elevate the experience. An unforgettable journey for your taste buds! Tried: Beef Donburi: 9.5/10 OMG COMFORT JAPANESE FOOD FOR SURE! So warm and inviting, the Donburi was not too sweet. It was a nice side pairing with the bbq meats. Served in a warm stone bowl. This I would 100% get again. . Ishoni Beef Combo: 8/10 For my first time here, I wasn't sure about the portions and which cuts of wagyu I wanted so the beef combo was choice to go with. They sample the more popular cuts of meats. The server was kind enough to tell us how to cook each wagyu cut to our cooked meat preference. It gets a 9/10 because I wish the some of the wagyu cuts didn't have the marinade. In my opinion, wagyu shouldn't need the extra added marinades. But still solid high quality cuts of meat. . Ume Shi High- this drink was divine. Well balanced with the plum flavor and whisky. It was a great cocktail to drink while having the grill on.
