Zabon Ramen & Rolls

I tried the karaage from Zabon Ramen and Rolls and it was delicious! It was very hot and made fresh. It took about 10 minutes to come out. While the flavor is similar to a lot of other karaage dishes, they add something extra- soy sauce, maybe? The small portion sizes offered by Zabon for the sushi rolls and the karaage is perfect for the food hall. I shared the karaage, and still had plenty of room to try the other options at Anaheim Packing District!

Located on the second floor of Anaheim Packing House, this place offers Japanese style food like ramen, rice bowls, and sushi with cut rolls and hand rolls. There's a self ordering tablet at the front counter. The food came out quickly but it was a little confusing since our food came separately at 2 different stations. We got the 5 Roll Omakase Set with miso soup and Crunchy Roll. The hand rolls were big and filling, but the fish didn't taste as fresh as I would've preferred. The Crunchy Roll was pretty good with the shrimp.There's not as much seating by this area, there's bar seating, but this is mostly a place to pick up food and find seating. Cute place for a date or a small group of friends.

So fresh!!The Avocado roll was on point. One of the freshest hand- rolled avocado rolls I've had!And the service was fast. I mean, I ordered it and bam it was ready. The presentation was there too, so it wasn't like it was rolled all sloppy. It was perfectly done. Price was reasonable.

The crunchy roll & shrimp tempura hand roll were disappointing, unfortunately. Somehow the shrimp had zero flavor... I didn't finish it which is a first for me. Ramen & rice bowls were pretty decent. The Anaheim Packing District is fun environment especially when there's a dj, but I would recommend skipping this place as there are a lot of other food options on both floors.

This was ok:Miso Ramen Chashu Rice Bowl I didn't like: Kaarage Rice Bowl The miso ramen soup base is solid #goodeats but the noodles and cabbage has a overall sour note to it. Sadly disappointed by the karaage since it isn't crispy and its pretty plain flavor wise. The bowls are fairly deep so the portions sizes look smaller than it actually is. Service is fairly quick in terms of getting the food out, there's a self serve bar for sauces. The Anaheim packing house is a fun place to sit and people watch while you eat but there's not a ton of seats available inside, there is plenty of outside patio seating.

I ordered the Omakase 5-Roll Set, and it was a great decision! For $35, you get five different handrolls plus miso soup. Here's a quick rundown of what I got:- Bluefin Tuna: Super fresh and tender. Melt-in-your-mouth kind of good.- Seared Bay Scallop: One of my favorites! The sear gave it a nice smoky flavor that paired perfectly with the sweetness of the scallop.- Blue Crab: Light, fresh, and delicious. A nice break from the heavier rolls.- Yellowtail: Simple but solid. Fresh fish, clean taste.- Eel Avocado: This was a perfect combo of savory and creamy. Loved the smoky eel with the smooth avocado.- The miso soup that comes with it is a nice touch, warm and comforting.

The food was good but the serving size for the price was the reason I docked a star. I know a place in Fullerton that's $2 cheaper and double the serving size (or at least looks like it). I would dock .5 of a star if I could because they charge extra for egg & anytime I've had ramen the egg is included.I appreciate that they have the sauces off to the side for access + little containers of ginger (I absolutely love fresh ginger)You can ask for sriracha if needed!2 bowls of ramen + 1 egg , a crunchy roll & pickled ginger came out to around $60 ‍ crazy

Came all the way from San Diego to get some of this ramen again. Broth is SO yummy and the order was ready quickly. Recommend!

This is ok... $35 for 5 rolls isn't terrible but you get what you pay for. Also I think they put the roll together while the rice is hot so everything becomes this warm-soggy texture. WhyyyyVisited the Anaheim Packing District again for the first time in 7 years (!!!) with some friends for dinner. Everything was somehow exactly how I remembered and unfamiliar all at once LOL. Settled on Zabon Ramen & Rolls for a light meal. - 5-ROLL SET: Serving this in 3 separate flimsy plates is... Unideal. Very precarious trip back to our table :') I ate this right away, as recommended, and found that the seaweed was still soggy and fillings were a bit mushy. Their fish quality is comparable to grocery store sushi.My expectations were already tempered from being at a tourist destination-- was fully expecting to pay mainly for the stylish environment and convenience.
