We went for the Omakase menu and food didnt disappoint. Every piece of the sushi was fresh and flavourful. Nikki took care of us and was very discreet but helpful. Very nice lunch atmosphere. Will come back.

I genuinely cannot express how happy I am to have stumbled upon this new AYCE Sushi spot. I had heard of their other locations before, but never had a chance to actually go to one until I was in the area and noticed that this one had opened up. The quality of the sushi was great for an AYCE sushi spot, and the rice to fish ratio was perfect in my opinion. The fish was nice and tasted fresh, from their salmon to their yellowtail. I love that they have other options as well in addition to their sushi, such as ramen, udon, or hand rolls. Generally, when a sushi spot tries to do too much all at once, they fall short in certain areas, but X-Fish Izakaya is not one of those restaurants. While their ramen was average at best, the rest of their options definitely make up for it. They do have a cooldown time for ordering, but we did not notice this too much, as we were busy eating while the timer ran down and by the time we finished, we were able to order more immediately!

I am shocked that this place gets such high reviews. Maybe it's because people are comparing it to other AYCE sushi experiences. At $27.99 per person for lunch they cannot be serving high quality fish and still turn a profit. Food: The actual sushi/fish offerings are average at best. If you order any of their rolls it wont matter though. Because they will over sauce it to cover up the fact the fish have no natural sweetness. Their Tonkatsu ramen was very bland. Completely lacked the richness characteristic of a Tonkatsu broth, and the marinated pork had no flavor. Service: The restaurant was roughly 80% full yet it still took 15 minutes to get my first order of sushi. You certainly do get what you pay for in life. At this price point, it's possible that I'm expecting too much.

Just wanted to update that I tried contacting the store about this and have yet to hear back from management. Seems to be avoiding speaking to me about this. My boyfriend and I still have food poisoning from eating here and have been very sick ever since.

Was a frequent customer of the former izakaya who has now faved this place after 2 visits. Simply put, not all acye sushi/rolls places are equal! Their quality is above and beyond any nearby competition, and even better than their own Buena Park location. Loved loved everything from here and would continue to come back to try the different acye options!

My wife & I have been here twice in the past 4 months. The wait was minimal due to the fact that we came here during lunch time on a weekend. The quality of the sushi was very fresh and they have quite a lot of choices when it comes to sushi, sashimi, carpaccio, cut rolls, hand rolls, and izakaya (small appetizers). Everything we ordered from the menu was good. The fresh sushi is ordered from a paper while everything else is self-ordered via their online menu you can access by scanning the QR code that's uniquely assigned for our table. We started off with all the available carpaccio for our visit (it's limited to two pieces each per person). After that, we ordered a variety of sushi and izakaya. In fact, I even enjoy the small bowl of udon from their menu. The broth was tasty, but not salty) and the noodles were perfectly cooked. It's definitely one of the best AYCE sushi restaurants in SoCal and we can't wait to go back again soon!

We came on a weekday around 11:15am and were able to get seated right away as much of the restaurant was empty. However, by 11:45am, the restaurant was definitely packed for lunch so I definitely recommend coming early or making a reservation if you're not looking to wait in line. We opted for their Lunch AYCE menu ($27.99 PP) which is available Monday - Friday from 11am - 2pm and includes sushi, all rolls, hand rolls, as well as all their udon and ramen options. Items such as their Carpaccio, Signature items, and appetizers are excluded as part of the Lunch Menu. Sushi is limited to 10 pieces per round for a total of 3 rounds. Rolls and hand rolls are ordered through a QR code and are limited to 3 roles per order, but you can have unlimited orders. For the price, I thought the sushi was good, and I appreciated the rice to fish ratio as each piece only had a small amount of rice. I also loved how they had a decent number of rolls that didn't include rice and used rice paper instead.Overall, a good value if you're in the mood for AYCE sushi. The ambience was clean and modern, and parking was plentiful in the parking structure next door. I only wish their service was a bit more friendly. There were a couple of staff that seemed friendly, but more than half the staff that came to our table seemed very rushed which sometimes came off as a bit rude. One of the servers had asked if it was our first time and being that it was, I would have thought they would have taken a bit more time to explain the ordering process and menu a little more, but he didn't, and he also looked a bit annoyed when I asked clarifying questions about the menu differences. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a good AYCE option in North Orange County, I definitely think it's worth giving X-Fish a try!

SUPER DISAPPOINTED during this visit. We wanted to take our friends out to this restaurant and were so excited for them to try the omakase here. We had a party of 4 adults + 1 baby and so when I got there I put us on the Yelp waitlist for 4 people and in the comments I wrote that we had 1 baby and will need a high chair. We waited outside for about 40min until we were called up to be seated. When we spoke with the hostess, she said we actually had 5 people and disregarded the reservation comment about having a baby for the high chair. Okay, slight misunderstanding , not a problem. They then said we'd have to wait another 30 min to be seated. Luckily, she seated us in 15min.There was not a designated server and we waited about 10min until someone came to give us waters and ask us which menu we'd be dining with. We let that server know we'd be doing the Omakase $55 menu. A few moments later, a different server dropped off the ordering paper and pencil for us to start ordering. We started off with the kitchen menu items you can order via the QR code. It took 30min after being seated to receive our first round of sushi. During the 30mins, we didn't get our 1st round of kitchen menu items so we ordered a 2nd time and those items eventually showed up. They totally dismissed our first round of kitchen menu items. For the baby, we got her teriyaki chicken and we sent it back since the chicken was light pink, it didn't look fully cooked so they took it back to the kitchen. Our sushi was coming out so slow, the omakase plates weren't delivered, and we ran out of water. Our empty plates and trash were piled up on the table because the servers kept dropping off plates with food and didn't bother to take empty ones. The sushi was fresh and delicious! All of the kitchen items were good. I enjoyed the variety and the ramen was delicious. After our 2nd round of sushi and 3rd round of kitchen items (we ate these mostly because the sushi took so long), we asked about the omakase plates twice, each time the server said he'd check on it. Finally, one server stopped by our table to let us know we had been ordering off the regular sushi menu and not their Omakase menu. At this time, we were so full off their kitchen menu items and little sushi. He left to check with his manager on what to do to remedy the situation and he came back with saying that we wouldn't be charged the omakase price....which I would expect that since we hadn't been ordering off that menu nor did we get omakase. We regret taking our friends here for this experience as it was supposed to be a fun and enjoyable night with delicious omakase, but we were let down. This was our second time here and both times, the service was chaotic, unorganized, and inattentive.

I love this place!! They always have a good fish to rice ratio. After finding out about this place about a year ago, this has been the go to spot. The service is amazing and even though it's a 40 min drive from me, I am always willing to make that drive!
