Tsuruhashi - Fountain Valley

came here on a tuesday night around 6pm and there was no wait at all, but it started getting busy around 7pm. we ordered the family combo, kobe gold kalbi, and the spicy tofu soup. the tofu soup was not as flavorful as i'd like it to be, but the meat definitely made up for it. the family combo comes with a variety of meats and some veggies. everything was delicious, especially the kobe outside skirt which was super tender and melted in your mouth. we ordered the kobe gold as well because we heard it was good, and it was super tender too but comparable to the kobe outside skirt. the family combo is definitely the most worth item but it's limited and available only monday through thursday. i don't really think this place is real kobe beef as it does not have the unique and famous "kobe beef" taste like the ones in japan, but it's definitely good quality so i'd recommend this place for anyone willing to pay a little more for quality.

I think average is about 120$ per person. Not worth it. I use to love this place. Price is getting too high. Not recommended

Ohhh, this japanese bbq restaurant is luxurious. The interior is modern, its clean and quaint. Lots of wood slats, so the booths seem separate and almost private. We actually tried going to their sister restaurant first, but it was immediately full when they opened. So they suggested we dine here. We arrived and they were able to accommodate us without reservations or a wait at opening time. We ordered the tsuruhashi set combo and it arrived with labels to help us distinguish the cuts. I enjoyed some cuts over the kobe. Overall, the quality was there and I enjoyed it. We ordered a rice dish as well and it was enjoyable. We paired our meal with beer, because it had a special price. The service is great and attentive. I definitely want to check out their sister restaurant after a great experience here.

2 AND A HALF HOUR WAIT. The meats are high quality here. It's not some subpar AYCE meat. The best part was definitely the two sauces they give. It pairs so well with all the meats!! My review is 5 stars for just the food itself, not taking into account of the wait time. I wouldn't wait 2 hours again. Maybe 1 hour max.

We came on a Tuesday night and waited about 10 minutes for our table. I liked that they called us when our table was ready. It was pretty busy, but service was still good. We ordered a kimchi fried rice and the family combo which consisted of prime short rib, prime rib eye, kobe outside skirt and miso chicken thigh. That was the perfect amount of food for two people. I wasn't a big fan of the kimchi friend rice because of the pickled ginger, but the family combo meats were great! Everything was fresh and we cooked everything on our grill.

I wish I had an infinite money hack so I could eat here more often. The quality of the meats here is phenomenal and this place is definitely a great place for dinner whether it's a special occasion (or a casual catch up and you're feelin' a lil bougie). You need to make sure you either call ahead or put your name down early cause the wait is usually like an hour to an hour and half. But once you get seated the service is great, food comes out properly, and time feels different when you're with great company enjoying probably some of the best quality meats a Japanese bbq restaurant has to offer. I've maybe had this place 3 or 4 times but every time I go the beef tongue is my number one dish, since I'm a huge texture person and love dipping it with lemon juice.

I came here and tried their Family Combo for $67. The combo came with Prime Short Rib, Prime Rib Eye, Kobe Outside Skirt and Miso Chicken Thigh. The meat quality was great and I really enjoyed their dipping sauce. I just wished that the combo came with some more vegetables or small sides. Also tried their stone pot bibimbap. It was really good but the portion size is on the smaller side. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Came here several times but this time not worth the price. We got the Kobe cubes, beef tongue, we also tried the A5 wagyu and mushrooms and kimchi fried rice.Food was tasty but the portions were very little 2 of us , ordered a lots just so we have decent amount of food to eat for the price they are really not generous in quantity or at least a couple pieces of extra veggie or onion would be nice but they were not. Everything little thing they charged extra it's different like before . $230.77 + %18 tip we paid for Friday night dinner but still hungry when we left.

Food: 3.75 - 4.75. Came by for a late Friday dinner. Place is located in a shopping center. It was just after 10 pm and the restaurant was mostly empty. This is a small restaurant with booths. There is no outside seating. We ordered some beers, cucumber kimchi, USDA Prime Boneless Short Rib, USDA Prime Cap Ribeye, Kobe Boneless Short Rib (Kalbi) - Gold -, and Kobe Outside Skirt. Relative to the other meat orders, the USDA Prime Cap Ribeye was disappointing. At a regular steakhouse, the ribeye cap is my favorite cut. Here, it is just okay. I definitely won't order this again if I come back. The Kobe Boneless Short Rib (Kalbi) - Gold - was definitely the best. Food items were delivered timely and we easily cooked the meats over the grill. Service was friendly and efficient. Service: 4.25Ambiance: 3.75Value: 3.5

The gold standard of JBBQ!High quality meat, great service, and great vibes.Tsuruhashi is a bit pricier & not All You Can Eat (AYCE), but is absolutely worth the price you pay for.My favorite JBBQ of all the restaurants and states I've been to! Highly recommend for JBBQ enthusiasts!
