It was my wife's bday and I like to typically find unique restaurants for fine dining. Because we have done other tapas places (i.e., Vaca), we wanted to try something new. After digging through Yelp, we stumbled on this gem called Truffle Bistro!!!I first started off by reserving a seat over the weekend. Because we eat early, we probably did not need reservations. But, you may never know. As I get older, i get grumpy and agitated when waiting for food. So I do reservations whenever possible. Anyway, for the price and portion, this place is one of the best Spanish style food in CA. It may not be as fancy as Vaca, but nonetheless it is highly underrated.Regarding the food, I mostly stuck with the Tapas portion of the menu. This includes the following:*Oxtail - a nice spread you put on your slice of bread. The waitress recommended this but so do I. * Seafood Paella - please note that this was not a tapas plate. For the record, my wife and I had really great paella in Spain before. In my opinion, their Paella is pretty good. The seafood is fresh and the rice is pretty flavorful. * truffle fries - as a warning, these darn things are so addicting. * Quail - this was alright. Maybe because we eat this often in Asian restaurants, there was no wow factor. But, i would still say this is solid.* Brussel sprouts - pretty good portion and it was roasted to my liking. Parking is free and the restaurant takes credit cards. The service is excellent. Because I had a surprise birthday cake for my wife that day, we did not get a chance to try out their desserts. So mark my words, we will be back!

This is a quaint place for tapas! Our server was really nice and offered recommendations. That was very helpful because they had an extensive menu and we were having a hard time picking dishes. We finally decided on stuffed mushrooms, red wine braised chorizo, short rib gnocchi, grilled octopus.The mushrooms were nice and savory. It was stuffed with cheese and perfectly seasoned and finished off with a sauce.The chorizo had a rich flavor that was heightened with the red wine braise. The octopus had a beautiful char and was accompanied with roasted potatoes and tomatoes. The latter added a nice freshness to every bite.The gnocchi was nice and tender and the short rib was flavorful. Great shareable meal!

Henry is hilarious!!! The only people who don't like his food ARE losers!! The world loves Henry and his delicious food, everyone else be damned. The restaurant is clean, cool, and delicious. Definitely support this awesome man and his family-owned business.

Good food. Good service. Parking easy. Both times we have tried them, we enjoyed the experience. Seems like the clientele are repeats which speaks well of consistent quality and fulfilled expectations. The owner/chef came to say hello to our party of 8 both times. Everyone is always friendly. We have no hesitation recommending. Will go again.

I'm really glad I liked this place because I didn't want to face the wrath of the owner, lol.I found the flavors to be superb, however definitely on the salty side (eating this salty might not be for everyone). I don't know if there's a term for it, but our lips were saturated with salt from certain items; I'll star the salty items below. Maybe you can request less sodium if you are looking out for your blood pressure?Pro tip: If you're getting something with sauce, ask for bread when you order so it comes out at the same time as your foodBrussel sprouts - not many restaurants get this right but theirs were actually crispy and tastyMeatballs* - although simple, it was excellent; order breadShrimp al ajillo - we loved the sauce on this one; order breadOxtail** - this one was mouthwatering good. I'm not sure if I'm supposed drink the broth because it's so salty, but I did (well as much as I could)Duck breast* - I was most disappointed with this of all the dishes. It is part my fault for not asking what their "perfectly cooked" temperature is, but it came out medium with the end pieces being medium-well. I prefer medium-rare and should have requested that. Flavor and crispiness of the skin were perfect though (maybe ask for a little less sea salt on top if you're looking to cut back on sodium)Frutta di mare - simple but delicious. I like a lot of lemon on my seafood pasta so I asked for an extra slice to squeeze on topLimoncello dessert - haven't had many good ones in the past so I had low expectations but it was surprisingly scrumptious-staff was very attentive and accommodating -crushed red peppers actually had a little bit of a kick-we didn't think of it until after, but sit at the bar and watch the chef working his magic, if you can

Just finished a wonderful tapas dinner at Truffle Bistro, thanks to great recommendations & service from Olivia and outstanding menu, food, and wine from Henry. Enjoyable music & art & lighting in the space and quiet enough for conversation & food appreciation. Will definitely return! Bravo!
