Stopped by here during my lunch at work. It's a quaint sports bar type mexican restaurant with seating both indoors and outdoors. The paella was delish here as well as the cerviche and yucatan style pork! Every dish was packed with so many different flavors! The environment was also both cozy and lively.. the server was also very attentive and personable. I had a great experience here. :) parking is a bit difficult but it's worth the struggle to dine here.

Holy Guacamole! This place effing HITS!!!! The food is so fresh, so authentic and I feel like I am eating food on the beach in the Yucatán peninsula! So stoked I found this place. The pulpo ceviche is on POONT and the fish/shrimp/pork tacos are fire!!! Wish I had a bigger stomach!!!!100% coming back to this spot. No tequila unfortunately but I'll live! =)

Had a wonderful experience here and will be back!Food and drink were excellent (5/5). The ceviche was delicious and fresh, and it nicely contrasted the fish and chips my friend and I ordered. Good sizable portions. Small but doable selection for draft beers, wine is definitely the pick here.Exceptional service (5/5). Friendly and attentive staff who were keen to help me find a drink to enjoy the rest of the evening, and they accommodated the fact that my friend and I were planning to share the main dish and split it into two plates for us before serving. Small, hip, intimate venue (4.5/5). Low-lit and with outdoor seating and open kitchen. I enjoyed the live DJ on a Saturday evening and the bar seating. I had no issue, but I can anticipate overall volume between the music and kitchen to be something others may have issue with if going for something more intimate.

We were trying to go to Mi Casa but the parking lot was full! I looked on Yelp and found Tres Muchachos. Very happy we did. The food was amazing and the service was spectacular! Very fresh and a unique taste. We tried the guacamole, salsa and this hummus (not quite sure what was in it) but had this really yummy chimichurri on top. Next, I ordered the New York Steak and Eggs, I'm not the biggest fan of breakfast so I asked if I could sub fries. The steak had the same chimichurri on top, DELISH! It also came with roasted veggies! My husband got the Chef Oso's breakfast burrito with these breakfast fries. 10/10

Love the friendly, welcoming, chill vibe from the moment I entered. Eclectic cute decor, old school rock and surf tunes in the background set the scene. All staff were smiley and helpful. I observed that cleanliness is high priority at Tres Muchachos. The hibiscus sangria was refreshing, flavorful and huge! The Panko fish taco boasts super crispy edges and has tropical undertones to it while the chile relleno is a melding of farmers' market freshness under a cheesy blanket. All were delicious and my favorite was the perfectly cooked fluffy rice topped with a homemade chili oil and micro greens. The brothers took the time to share the backstory of this family owned gem. I only wish I lived closer to this spot so I could be a regular here. Two thumbs WAY UP a Los Tres Hermanos! (Y su familia!) Felicidades!

My friend had her birthday brunch here on 6/23. I had briefly looked at the menu & reviews of this location before eating here & it looked promising. They are located in a strip mall area on 17th, in the same center as Shake Shack. The restaurant is teeny tiny. The outdoor area where we all sat accommodated our party of 14. It is the beginning of summer & even in Costa Mesa it was about 80 degrees outside. Even though the outdoor area is shaded, it would have been nice to have some outdoor fans to circulate some air. The menu has a variety of items to choose from, lot of brunch items as well as seafood. Their beverage menu was extremely disappointing, they had a variety of beer & wine but maybe 4 cocktails. It would have been nice for even a basic margarita? My husband got the breakfast burrito & I got the pork belly tacos. For the price of the dishes I really was expecting quality, flavorful & a presentable dish. The food was mid at best. The fries were cold & the pork belly was extremely greasy. When we went to pay inside the heat was unbearable. Like I said, it's a small space, so the kitchen is adding heat to the restaurant. I don't know how anyone would be able to sit inside comfortably to eat. I think this place is too casual for the type of menu they have. I was totally expecting elevated dining & the 4.8 Yelp score is deceiving. On the plus side the music they had playing outside was a 10/10. Everything else was just overpriced & underwhelming.

Very attentive service and thorough with their explanation of the menu. Very lax atmosphere, good for a long dining experience - but not ideal if you like fast paced service. Complimentary birthday dessert is a solid tiramisu. (4/5)The fried calamari is great - lightly battered fresh squid with a shattering crisp, salty goodness, and satisfying chew without being tough. (5/5)The celery in the octopus ceviche tostada was a strange combination for me and the tostada was a bit stale, but the octopus was very tender. (3/5)The deconstructed tamal is a nice take that has my ideal ratio of filling to masa and introduces a crispness that prevents the masa from being stodgy. The flavor and texture of the meat is just ok, slightly on the dry side. But the grilled vegetables I subbed for the rice were good, crisp-tender with a nice garlic rosemary seasoning. (3.5/5)

Hidden gem in Costa Mesa. If you are craving elevated brunch, tacos or just a nice drink this is your spot. They are located on 17th street near the new shake shack. Ample parking in front and back. There is outdoor seating and you can bring your dogs on the patio. The fish ceviche was so fresh and so much fish. On a tostada with avocado, it had all the right flavors and a little kick with the sauce. Shrimp taco had large grilled shrimp on a blue corn tortilla that was delicious. My favorite dish here hands down was the fish sandwich. It was the best fish sandwich I have ever had. The sauce, fish was perfectly battered and the bread it was on, just literally so good. Do it try it if you like fish sandwiches They have a great selection of wines and beer. Alejandro was super welcoming and we really enjoyed the food and ambiance. We will be back to try more !
