Too Sweet

Amazing!!! We stopped during a post dinner meander and were drawn in by the wide selection. Despite being full from our meal, we were intrigued by the dark chocolate peanut butter cup since Reese's are our favorite candy. After eating it, I realized that while it didn't resemble a Reese's cup much but was fantastic in its own way. This might be my favorite dark chocolate as it is so rich in flavor and didn't feel "grainy" at all with sugar, and the peanut butter also felt wholesome; yet the treat was perfectly sweet! If I had to change something, I would add more peanut butter, but the treat overall was large and shareable.

Best ice cream an chocolate! But service was awful! The guy is not smiling and looked upset that he had to come out of his closet to work:/

All sorts of delightful candied apples. Traditional and all out flair. A very good variety.

Too bad for too sweet. Carmel apples tiny. Fudge was mushy and just ok. Wanted to enjoy this place on the island but disappointed.

Visitors can't leave Balboa Island without trying a frozen banana or Balboa bar. I opted for the frozen banana covered in chocolate, rainbow sprinkles and toasted almonds. It was a nice afternoon treat with the most of sweetness coming from the banana. There was a long line at another store and Too Sweet was quicker and did not disappoint. I also purchased six truffles which was reasonably priced. The chocolates were excellent. The shop is clean and bright.

What a cute store at Fashion Island mallin Newport Beach!! Don't get the honeycomb though. Too hard and stale! The dark chocolate patties are good!!

Went there with my family from out of town and noticed too sweet. I seen the big lines at the other places and decided to give this small place a try come to find out that everything they have is fresh, , You can get small banana,l or a big banana, and the ripeness is just perfect. The chocolate is Quality and the candy apples are to die for must try the chocolate dipped licorice and the turtles peanut butter cups I mean everything there is just off the chain,. This place is a sleeper people don't know what they're missing.

This place has the BEST Balboa bars on the island, HANDS DOWN. I know it's nostalgic to go to Dad's for Balboa bars, but let me tell you. Once you come to Too Sweet, you'll never want to eat anyone else's's Balboa Bars. The quality of the chocolate is soooo good!!! It's creamy, rich & delicious. The bittersweet chocolate beautifully coats the vanilla ice cream bar & you can select different toppings to cover your bar: toffee, various nuts, sprinkles, coconut & much more. I will travel 30 minutes to eat Balboa bars from here, no joke. I'm slightly lactose, but the vanilla ice cream doesn't do any damage. (It would honestly be worth it.) They also have chocolate covered bananas & an assortment of other chocolatey treats! The other half of the building is Tuti Fruti froyo, so in case you're not into chocolate. You've got froyo.They just need to advertise their quality more. Remind customers why they're better. & people are lazy nowadays, maybe deliver? Y'all have such amazing potential! I love this place. I look forward to eating my nostalgic Balboa bar after dinner every time I visit the island.

Was on Balboa Island and felt the need to complete my day with a classic Balboa Bar! I've had them at the two other popular places that seem to always have a line, so I was thrilled to come across Too Sweet! Dipped in the best tasting chocolate and rolled in big chucks of toffee and nuts, this was seriously far superior then the tourist driven places a few blocks down the street! As I sat on a park bench out front, enjoying my sinfully delicious ice cream, I made sure to tell curious people walking by, not to go any farther in search of the best Balboa Beach Bar ever! Definitely my new "go to" establishment to satisfy my sweet tooth! I will be back soon!

Yum! Had my first balboa bar here, after reading that theirs was the best with the best quality chocolate. I also read from that same review that elsewhere close by has balboa bars that taste like styrofoam, ouch haha. So we went here! Highly recommend the toffee + peanut mixture (you get two topping choices) or the toffee + brown sugar cinnamon. Such a good experience.
