My husband and I love coming here for a quick lunch/ sushi fix. Its super convenient that they have a large selection of sushi, bento boxes and japanese food. We love getting their sushi boxes and rice balls. I have gotten their curry plates and tempura plates before. Overall, their food is pretty solid and it doesnt break your bank trying to get some good sushi. After, we'll do a quick shopping trip to see what we need to get. The store seems a bit small but it has everything you need as a japanese supermarket. The parking lot is super small with limited parking and the parking stalls are super small. Its always busy here so it may take awhile to find parking.

Out of all the Tokyo Central branches, this location is one of my favorite stores due to the variety of produce and products from Japan. The catch is, it comes with a price. No doubt that the quality is high and you won't regret the purchase but the price is pretty steep. There isn't anytime where they didn't have stock, the presentation of the foods and the organization of the items are in perfection and the customer service is out of this world. They maintain the store sparkling clean that even a fly will slide.I strongly recommend picking up foods from the food court for the hot dish and sushi central area for the cold dish. Also, their mochi and bread selections are amazing so check that out as well before you leave.

i imagine most everyone that lives in costa mesa that would be reading this review already knows about and loves tokyo central, so i'd like to take this opportunity to share my love for something they make that is becoming harder and harder to find in orange county -- odenit's 10am on a gloomy sunday, with a light rain on horizon. i'm sitting here in their dining area just beyond the cash registers, watching a happy couple win something for their very lucky daughter at one of these godforsaken claw machines. in front of me is a little black plastic container of their winter hot bar special tonkotsu oden -- filled to the top with radishes and fish cakes; to my side, a spoon, chop sticks, and a small packet of wasabii cannot tell you how perfect this is, on a cold winter's day. for the uninitiated, oden is a japanese stew, made up of whatever people want i guess (this is my first time having one with a tonkotsu base). i'm not japanese but i've always been under the impression it -- like many other stews -- is peasant food, since i've really only ever seen it at 7-11s or lawsons in japan and it's dirt cheap to buyeven so, it's one of my favorite things to get and is one of those dishes, like mole, that i will order any time i see it on a menu, just to try it. however very much unlike mole, oden is almost always universally delicious, and the one they make here is no exceptionthe oden was ready at about 10am and they closed off the area altogether to restock everything at 1015 so there is kind of a sweet spot to get it piping hototherwise, thank you for all the wonderful sashimi, rice balls, ramen, takoyaki, croquettes, ... just everything throughout the years! best grocery store in orange county, hands downgochisousamadeshita!

I'm not sure why I don't have a valid review of this place... then again with over 3k photos in queue, pardon the redundancy, but this place is awesome in every way. Never mind the nuisance of the parking lot, and weekend's bloody long lines for checkout, the pros outweigh the cons here. Everything your pantry needs plus appliances, tableware, utensils, ceramics, and beauty supplies Tokyo Central has treasures! I especially love the fruits in season, green pea shoots, and local baked goods. I love they have everything I need for at home ramen or bibimguksu. If you come on the weekends in time for the rope drop, the race to the hot food and rows of bentos is reminiscent of Guy Fieri's Grocery Games! The cases empty before your eyes in minutes :-)Always a fave when I'm in the area... and a short stop to Mitsuwa in Costa Mesa! Indeed, I recommend and come when they open to beat the madness!どういたしまして!

Always an adventure when I come here and we LOVE the sales that occur on snacks. We enjoy the food court from time to time too. Good variety of onigiris, sushi rolls, sashimi platters and desserts (mochi, purin and pastries).Husband has a favorite brand of chips by Koikeya called Karamucho - spicy seaweed. The party bag size normally is $7.99 a bag, but they were having a promotion at $3.99/each! I did grab a cart before and when I came back to the cart, husband had 6 bags in there and was coming back with 4 more in hand. In that same trip, I also picked up a bag of seasonal amaou strawberry royal milk tea lattes and organic matcha. There's a lot of fun finds and seasonal items to explore.

This supermarket was awesome. The fresh ready to go food section was amazing. I was in heaven. The rest of the store had a wide selection of every item you could think of. I got an abnormal amount of the biggest pockys I have ever seen. I got a lot of health and beauty items as well. The store had all kinds of goodies. Can't wait to come back.

Tokyo Central is a one stop destination for Japanese and Hawaii goods , offering an impressive variety of groceries, snacks, and household items. The store is well organized, making it easy to find everything from fresh produce to specialty products. The fresh fish is already filleted and packaged to go. Hawaiian cooking and backed goods. The huge selection of ramen and udons. The prices are not cheap but it's worth it. Sushi's, the food in their deli is good too especially the Takoyaki, Niku udon only $7.99 . The staff is friendly, and the overall ambiance creates a genuine cultural shopping experience. Whether you're seeking authentic Japanese food or unique gifts, Tokyo Central never disappoints .

I was craving JBBQ and didn't feel like going to a restaurant. What better way to enjoy a good meal than in the comforts of your home? We went to Tokyo Central to buy meat but found ourselves trying their Toro sushi and new drinks. There are sales after a certain time, some time in the evening. I love all the cool snacks and foods that are hard to find in American supermarkets. It's also just fun to look around and pick up anything you want to try!
