Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa is a quirky gem--a dive bar with character and a solid lineup of music acts. We checked out Wub Wednesday to scope out the local bass music scene, and it delivered a chill, locals-only vibe with a decent crowd, even without any big-name headliners.The bar itself is a little grungy, but in the best way possible. It's unpretentious, comfortable, and just right for a night out. The drinks are cheap, the sound system is solid, and the dance floor? Big enough to get your groove on without feeling cramped.And then there's the food. They've got this little closet serving up $3 tacos, and let me tell you--everyone's right about the al pastor. It's a must-try and the perfect late-night fuel.The only downside is the parking, which can be a bit of a challenge, but it's nothing insurmountable. Tiki Bar is a unique spot worth checking out, especially if you're into live music or just want a laid-back, affordable night out.

First time at this bar, my best friend's husband was playing in one of the bands so we came to support of course! I really liked the vibe here, such a cool tucked away bar, the parking lot was full so we had to park down the way a bit which was ok!Our bartender was great, I did ask for a lemon drop and my gosh there drinks were strong lol! However he asked if I wanted sugar of course I do, I think I may have been the only one who asks for that drink there lol We had so much fun our bartender was awesome quick with the drinks. Had such a blast, love live music so coming here to watch music made me feel so good and alive! The Raptors were awesome our friends band, The Gringos never heard them but loved it and that was the band our friend's husband played in. Codefendants were amazing absolutely loved them! It was fun going to Costa Mesa and coming here it's been such a long time! Loved this bar can't wait to come back and see more shows. Live music makes me the happiest, I get lost in it and I'm in my own world closing my eyes dancing to the music and feeling it in my bones. Can't get enough of it helps me forget everything! Music is part of my heart and soul and maybe it will heal me! :)All and all this is a great bar good atmosphere they have two pool tables, and some high seating so you don't have to stand the whole time with some tables. They also have an outside patio area for smoking or fresh air also to buy some merch if you would like to. I would recommend this bar, it's good vibes and live music how could you really go wrong? Love the venue for the concert I attended, always support local businesses and bars. This place is a little rough around the edges but would come here for a concert again!

Small personal space which is great for listening to music. Bathroom was clean and taco guy was pretty good. Bar tenders were helpful and nice plus on top of cleaning up the mess from the taco shop. Went for reggae concert and definitely didn't disappoint. Casual atmosphere with pretty good parking but overflowing into lots next store. .

There was an auction fundraiser event here last night and it was a blast. The beer offerings were solid. Mixed drinks flowing and there's a taco stand in the back.

This is the most disgusting bar I've ever been to. I came due to an event been held and it was terrible. It was filthy. People were doing drugs throughout the premises and I just felt completely uncomfortable here. Awful area, awful ambiance, and I paid over $70 to see this event that I couldn't even enjoy because I had to leave because I was so uncomfortable with the amount of drugs being done in plain sight. Never. Ever. Ever. Go to this place.

I agree that this is kind of a dive bar, but that doesn't bother me as much. I saw Mood Lifters here and the sound was actually pretty good. My low rating is mainly because their website had a menu, and I thought "great, I can eat there." And I drove 45 miles from the San Fernando Valley. But they just had a mediocre (at best) taco stand on the patio, so I was starving most of the night. I just wish they had said "no dinner served on show nights" on their website or Facebook event or something, so I could eat before. I didn't know until I got there. That was a big deal to me, hence the low rating. I'd actually kind of like to try their real menu!

For any bands that want to play at this spot be careful the promoter for this Tiki bar is known for not paying the musicians. The Tiki Bar has to be accountable for who they work with. Sorry!

I went to this bar October 11, 2024 and had an awful experience with the bouncer at the door. From first meeting he was super rude and not nice even tho you have to pay 10$ just to get in! I watched some of the bands perform for over an hour and noticed he was arguing with one of my friends outside so I went to see what was going on. He was cussing at my female friend and being unbelievably rude to her and she was in one of the bands performing that night!! The "reason" for him acting this way was he would not accept her temporary GOVERNMENT PROVIDED ID and would not let her be anywhere inside the bar except onstage while performing. I would totally understand if he was just enforcing his rules but you can be kind and professional about enforcing rules and this man was absolutely not. He used this as an excuse to degrade, film, cuss, and be a bully to us which is unacceptable from one of your staff members. We tried to sit outside in the parking lot to listen and support the other bands and he came after us into the parking lot (even tho we were just sitting there talking and not doing anything) and he said we needed to leave the property immediately and he began filming us just listening to the music!!! Ask him for the video he took of us and you'll see we weren't doing anything and he was the one harassing us. He followed us all the way to the public sidewalk and said we weren't allowed to be on the public sidewalk?? Which I told him was not true and we could stay here. So we had to listen to support the other bands from the sidewalk at midnight even tho it's super dangerous for two girls to be alone on the street that late this guy didn't care at all about our safety and was so glad to have an excuse to bully two young girls. This experience was absolutely unacceptable and this needs to be addressed. I will discourage everyone I know from playing or coming here because I cannot believe your staff would allow that type of treatment to not only your customers but people that are there to perform for you at your bar!!
