Thrifty Ice Cream

Tired of spending $$$ on ice cream. Googled CA version of Braums and this place came up. Drove here and didn't realised it was inside the Rite-Aid. Great prices, decent ice cream. Lots of flavors. Interesting instrument to scoop ice cream.

What can I say you can never go wrong with thrifty ice cream brings back childhood memories

Great Thrifty ice cream flavors that I fondly remember. They even use the same scoop mechanism!!!

The rite aid woman who got our ice cream was super cranky and unpleasant. The floor was very dirty and sticky with ice cream.

I don't think this is the BEST ice cream ever, but Thrifty holds a very special place in my heart. My friends and I would come here all the time after dinner whenever we were still hungry. Because it's located inside Rite Aid, it's super convenient for me because I spend most of my time in the snack aisle heheI usually get a single or double dip of various ice cream flavors, especially vanilla, butter pecan, mocha almond fudge, and other sweets. My friends regularly get birthday cake, cookies n' cream, as well as circus animal, but I personally didn't like them. They tasted more artificial (?) than others. All in all, the service and prices are great. And sometimes the nicer employees who recognize you will give larger scoops !

The ice cream is so creamy and all the people there are so nice. They have so many different flavors and they taste so fresh like they were just made.

I love this ice cream, not because it's cheap or inexpensive compared to others, it just tastes great and IS real ice cream at affordable prices.OK, so Thrifty became Rite-Aid, but the ice cream is still my #1 go to when I have company over and it's one of the dessert selections. I can get 4-5 selections in quart size tubs for about $10-$12 depending when I buy them (sale or not). Still much more affordable than going to BigBox grocery stores or ice cream parlors.Summer time (or anytime, really) will be busy and this place is nestled in the corner of a corner mall called University Park Center on the corner of Michelson & Culver. (So, I love to use the word "corner"!)Happy Ice Cream and Fight On!

I remember going there way back in 2004!! Back then one scoop of ice cream only costs 99 cents, a triple scoop is 2.69$. Therefore, it was such a deal back then! I loved the coconut pineapple, strawberry, mint and cookie, and rocky road/chocolate ice cream! But then, the most recent one that I went there was back in 2014, although all the cost went up twice as much, but the ice cream is still the same delicious thing we've had! The server was quite swift in her response to help us get the ice cream we wanted. Therefore, I was very happy. Unfortunately though, the cost is quite expensive now. That's why I can't always get it.

This is the worst ice cream I have ever eaten and I have eaten garish horrible ice cream before. Worst ingredients, there is no remorse in this company. They put horrible ingredients in, how have they been in business since 1940? I have no idea. We purchased Chocolate Malted Krunch horrible blobs of shortening horrible. The Mocha Almond Fudge was just as bad. Sugar, Corn syrup, and then more sugar. I would like to know what grade of cream they use. Just go out of business and leave ice cream to some company with integrity. I will never eat this ice cream again. That is my protest. Sorry, you had to cut so many corners to stay in business. You would be hanged as a thief in Wyoming. ( that might have been a bit melodramatic but I think I made my point!!) There is not an ability to leave zero stars and not good is an understatement.
