My review is solely based of the deli portion. I had high hopes for The Butchery, given their reputation for premium products, but our experience was quite disappointing. We visited a day or 2 before Thanksgiving looking to try one of their sandwiches and unfortunately all they had were premade sandwiches that were a complete letdown. While the ingredients seemed fresh, the overall execution didn't justify the steep price of a very basic sandwich. For the price, I was expecting something exceptional, but it felt more like a sandwich from a local convenient store with literally just meat and cheese. If you're here for the fresh meat cuts, you might find it worth it. Had they had their deli running like normal, then maybe we would have had a better experience but regardless, we felt the premade sandwiches were way overpriced for what we actually got.

This place is expensive. But it's great. If you want the best beef, lamb, pork, or chicken, this is the place. It's not the place for bargains. The purveyors are pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable. People that come here are willing to pay for high quality. They have an amazing selection of seasonings, marinated meat and poultry, and cheese. It's an organized store. It's not hard to find things. It's a pretty modern feel. Its appearance is fine. But, the reason you come here is for the best. It's a 30-40 minute drive for me. I only come when I want a great cut or beef, lamb, kurobata pork, or jidori chicken.

Another great butcher shop in my arsenal to choose from in Orange County. My wife and I went here last Sunday on a mission down the 17th Street corridor to stock up protein provisions for the next two weeks. Santa Monica Seafoods was the first stop, and this place the second stop. This is my second visit here in 4 weeks, and I must say they have most everything one needs to satisfy your animal protein needs. We purchased a couple of bone in pork chops. They were very good quality, a little over 1 inch thick. I've bought some previously from them and had them cut them at 1 and a quarter inch thick and they grilled beautifully. This location has more than just various meats. They have not easy to find items like beef tallow, a great fromage display, various seasonings, hard to find proteins like rabbit, duck, oxtail, and other goodies that you do not find at a regular grocery store. I almost forgot, they also make craft sandwiches to take out. We will back in another 2 weeks.

We didn't realize how good the sandwiches are here. We shared the brisket sandwich with coleslaw on the sandwich and all the fixings. So good! It's on chibatta bread. They have so many sandwiches to choose and plenty of meats to bring home and make sandwiches at home. Chips and everything that a deli should have. Very quick service too!

Love The Butchery. We only get our steaks from here and the meat is always top tier. Their deli sandwiches are also delicious. Will definitely be craving this again

Exceptional sandwiches. I prefer the Italian #6. I used to always go to jersey mikes for lunch, but the quality of The Butchery takes the upper hand. Well done

Wow! This place is a meat lovers dream! I came in on a Sunday at 9am, as soon as they opened. Great folks working here. I was noticed and acknowledged right away. I bought their black pepper and it was tasty. I bought 7 grass fed tenderloin steaks. They were perfect! I just visited Outback Steakhouse, I know it's a bad comparison, but I also got the tenderloin and it definitely wasn't up to par with what they have to offer here. They definitely have high quality meats so I was more than happy to splurge. I look forward to going back and trying their other cuts and their deli meat.I will say that asking for a tip at the check out was a bit odd though.

My boyfriend and I came here to grab some steaks for dinner and saw they had a sandwich counter. We got intrigued and wanted to try it out. The employees at the meat counter were so attentive and friendly! We were asked if we needed help like 5 times lol. Parking is easy in a shared plaza. We got the #1 turkey sandwich ($13.99) on white bread to share, and it was surprisingly delicious for how simple it was. The white bread was not white sandwich bread but a baguette instead. Bread was too light toasted, not much of a crunch and more of a chew. The mayo really threw me off; I thought they added tuna salad. The white lean turkey and mayo had me thinking it was a tuna salad sandwich! Once I got over that, the sandwich was pretty good. The pepper jam added a nice sweet and tangy flavor to the plain sandwich. The cheese got a little lost, probably there wasn't enough of it. My boyfriend enjoyed the sandwich much more than me.Overall, the sandwich was a great snack/lunch. It was very interesting and unique thanks to the jam. We would come back to try to other sandwiches.

OMG! Looking for experienced butchery that take pride of the meats they serve? This is the place. Premium select meats with beautiful color and marbling. We even found a select of condiments and sauces that I have only seen online. Going back for the next special occasion. It is pricey but worth it.

I love the marinated chicken here. It never disappoints. Always tender and except for the occasional bag I get that contains lots of very small pieces rather than 3 or 4 large breast portions the quality and taste are excellent. My gripe is the tip culture. If you charge $14.99 per pound for chicken and upwards of $90 per pound for beef you should pay your employees a fair wage and not make them rely on tips like a restaurant worker. And if the owner wants to assert that he/she indeed does pay a fair wage then end the tip culture. Get rid of the tip jar and don't insult or guilt me by making me select "no tip" when I use a credit card. The other day I picked up a package of chicken and took it to the check stand. The checker was literally sitting on a stool while ringing me up but there was the "no tip" requirement before they would process my card. To be completely fair the employees are nice and friendly. I, too, am a friendly and nice employee and have never thought of asking for a tip.UPDATE- After receiving a response and explanation from Brian the owner I now see this differently. Because I only buy pre packaged items I did not consider the other services they offer which certainly do fall under traditional tip culture. I apologize for my comment about "fair wage" as it certainly does not apply here. I also feel that the tone of my original review was unnecessarily harsh. I have decided to leave the original review in tact and add this edit to demonstrate how adults can reason together. Truth be told the pre marinated chicken is a game changer for taste and tenderness. It's the end of dry or rubbery chicken and your friends will be impressed with your culinary skills when you serve it.
