Teriyaki Express

A new challenger has entered the arena for Teriyaki in LH, and this one is making some noise!Food:Combo Veggie Bowl I get the same thing every time because: they are consistent, it tastes good, and the price point is right were I want to be. The combo veggie bowl comes with rice, beef, chicken, and veggies. The cooks do not skimp out on the portion sizing, and everything goes so well with some of their hot sauce (it is more like a salsa / sambal kind of hot sauce). On the menu they also offer sushi rolls, different kinds of bowls, and small appetizers. I have not gotten around to ordering anything else as I am happy with just ordering the same.Restaurant:Inside and outside the restaurant it is very very orange. If it is not shockingly orange, then you are at the wrong spot! It is always clean and well maintained. There is no restroom available, and parking can get tight sometimes, but you might have to park a little further down the strip mall and walk over.Notes:Two combo veggie bowls is about $23ish. Good deal in this economy.

Was craving some teriyaki and I was already at Costco and had driven by this store hundreds of times and decided to give it a shot. Was really excited by the positive reviews, too. First and foremost, the space is cute in a no-frills sort of way. Bright orange to accent the black + a fun little artificial turf space for waiting. Cashier was prompt to greet me and was friendly. Had someone who looked homeless join me after I ordered and she was polite/friendly and tried her best to communicate despite language barrier. Now the down side. The food was on the low-end of average. Portions were small as well. Ordered the chicken bowl and salmon plate.The chicken bowl was smaller than I would have expected given the price. Also lacked flavor (did they apply teriyaki while cooking? my gut says no). Didn't come with any sort of garnish (green onions or sesame seeds) and wasn't offered as an option. The bowl just looked really sad. Coupled with that TINY teriyaki sauce and salsa - disappointing. Salmon plate was maybe worse. The salmon itself looked seasoned well. But it was... tiny. If I had to give it a size, I would say it was about 1.5"x4"? Felt like an insult to open out plates to see this these tiny portions. Probably not going to return here, unfortunately. If it's not too much longer of a commute, my recommendation would be the place off of La Habra/Harbor instead.

If you didn't notice when walking in here, the brand color is ORANGE. OMG, it's really overwhelming and in your face. The upper walls, steel tables, and chairs are a bright hued orange. It's my first visit here. Ever since Orange House sold to a new owner years ago I haven't returned there as they changed the food.I ordered the #16 Combo Bento Box. Wow, TE has big California roll. That's nice to see. The food was pretty good and the service was okay. If I need to get up and ask for wasabi and ginger to accompany my sushi then you have to step up your service game. We didn't get our two water cups either but I want going to get up a second time. Another miss was not giving us two doing sauces for the fried tempura items. Only one cup was provided. I ain't gonna lie, my bento combo was pretty good all around. The beef and chicken were tender and delicious.

First thing I wanna say, which has been mentioned in other reviews, is the portion. I've gotten a combo plate at many other teriyaki places but none ever give you as much as Teriyaki Express does. So I highly appreciate that. The food was great. The chicken and beef were well marinated that you don't necessarily need the additional teriyaki sauce, unless you want to. Their chili paste was also good. The smokiness and tenderness of the meat brings joy into my mouth. And the dressing for the salad was also surprisingly good.Service is definitely above par. Upon entry, the guy at the counter had a big-o smile welcoming me to the establishment. Dude was very polite and patient. Loved it!This location is where Teriyaki King used to be. The new decoration is nice, with a bright orange color, and lit up by the lights and natural light from the outside. They have a cute separate seating area for takeout also. Overall a clean establishment. I would DEFINITELY visit again. Not sure if the Teriyaki Express in Fullerton is owned by the same person, but I do like this La Habra location better. I just feel like the vibe was a bit better.

I can see why this place has great reviews! Restaurant quality food and service at an express style location! The guy at the counter was very friendly and accommodating. I told him I knew I was ordering more food than I could eat, so he automatically gave me a to go bag. The food was fresh and delicious. The bento box is an excellent value. I also ordered the dragon roll because I wanted to try it, and it restaurant quality good. It was strange because it was the world's largest sushi roll and it was difficult to eat, but it was really good. Everything I ordered was excellent. I even tipped a couple of bucks, which I never do at an express style place.

The service is great and their food is even better. Looks like they recently made some upgrades to this place.

Wow so happy I finally tried this place! The inside is really cute and I like how all the table and chairs are orange, plenty of seating if you want to dine in. The girl working the register was really nice and helpful since it was my first time there. I ordered 2 combo bowls (chick and steak), 1 chicken bowl and a tiger roll. The bowls were delicious and filled with not just rice but plenty of meat too! They also give you sides of extra teriyaki and hot sauce which was so good and added the perfect amount of spice. The tiger roll was huge, definitely didn't expect it to be that big, and was enough to share with 3 people. Pricing was great too! Definitely will be back when I have a teriyaki craving!

Would have been nice to stay and enjoy the food but there are no restrooms available for their customers.

If you want more bang for your buck, Teriyaki Express is the place for you! You really do get a lot of food! The food is fresh, high quality & does not sit heavy on your stomach. 2 very plentiful Bento boxes complete with salad, miso soup and sushi, as well as one generously overstuffed chicken & vegetable bowl with a side of egg rolls for under $48!? What a deal! The indoor dining is clean and spacious Providing plenty of room and the staff are very kind, courteous & friendly. Highly recommend!

Amazing food, fast service, and very affordable this day and age. Was pretty packed when I arrived, but only had to wait about 5 minutes to get my food. Thanks
