Taco Mesa

I have eaten at this restaurant since 2000 and the food has always been good. The service however is not. This is the second time I have come here and been left absolutely furious at the employees. Arrived at 8:15 which is considerably before closing time and was told they are only doing takeout orders because they started to clean the dining area early. Unacceptable. Rude and lazy employees.

My FAVORITE place!!! Best thing is that they have specials all week. Out favorites are taco Tuesday & burrito Wednesday. You can't beat it. VEGETARIANS = you will love the options here!!! They have terrific veggie and bean mixes. The esquires is awesome. And potato tacos on Tuesdays are top notch.

Chef Ivan never ceases to amaze! Not only his wholesale tacos made with only organic goods. But all of his restaurants hit it out of the park! Too quality ingredients, perfectly prepared and served by a friendly team! Can't wait to try Mesita in Tustin next!

Atmosphere was great, the prices are very good, each day there's a different special. We got a to go order. The blackened chicken taco was delicious. The enchilada a bit dry and tamale, was good. The taste and the heat were excellent on both. My family didn't care for the Horchata even though they said they made it themselves there. What was delicious we both thought was the Mexican wedding cookies. The flan was good too. What was concerning, was having my daughter bite into her carnitas taco, on our drive home, and then telling me from the passenger seat; "There's plastic in it!" I actually pulled off the side of the road and told her that's just lettuce and she says no Dad it's plastic... when we got home we examined it. Yes it's a burnt piece of small plastic. I called up the restaurant three times, it would go to voicemail and they did not pick up. (please see pictures). not sure if I would go back because the situation was very inconsistent, in our freezer there is now an unfinished taco, with a piece of plastic wrap for me to show them (the restaurant ) next time we are driving by. If it wasn't for the Mexican cookies, being so delicious, This would've had a two star review. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Oh Mai goodness what a pleasant surprise! I thought this place looked like where you would go to have a wedding reception not some goooood Mexican food but I was proven wrong. I got the carnitas burrito and my partner got the al pastor tacos. They both hit the spot. His had so many flavors and mine was very filling and felt like the perfect comfort food. Add in their red salsa and it became a place I'm still craving days later.The food was so good I forgot to take a picture. They also seem to sell cookies! Might have to try next time.Great service !

Taco Mesa is still my go-to. They have the healthiest and cleanest ingredients in their dishes. You are getting what you ask for, fresh and delicious healthy and clean Mexican food. I've been loving their king tostada, served on a bed of chips it's a hugely portioned taco salad. Drizzle some of their freshly made salsa from the salsa bar and *chefs kiss* I could eat this daily. If you haven't yet, you absolutely need to give them a try. Highly recommended for taco Tuesday, quick service, date night, and catering (they do it all).

Taco Mesa is quickly becoming a favorite spot for Taco Tuesday! I've sampled quite a few dishes here, and their tacos are simply unbeatable. Whether it's the steak with cilantro and onion, carnitas with pibil sauce, chicharron, beer-battered fish tacos with cabbage adobada, or the shredded beef and chicken ropa vieja frita tacos, you can't go wrong. But my absolute GO-TO taco has to be the taco al pastor--something about the pork, pineapple, and watermelon radish makes it one of the best in OC, and I get it every time! Usually, more than one!If you're browsing the taco menu, you've got to try their other unique creations. The alambre taco with steak and bacon is fantastic; the shrimp tacos are a hit, and the Maine lobster taco--though a bit pricey--comes loaded with chipotle aioli, cabbage relish, crema, and queso. The seasoned chips and fresh salsas are always on point, with the avocado salsa being a personal favorite. Parking can be challenging thanks to the busy lot shared with an In-N-Out, but it's WELL worth going, especially on Taco Tuesdays!

Can't rave about this place enough! Taco Tuesdays are my favorite day to come. I get the el pastor (pork) and fish taco. Workers are great and noticed they opened a second register to help if the line got long. Salsa bar has all the salsa, extra onions, extra cilantro, limes, lemons, and the pickled carrots. This place is the biggest location I've been to and definitely. Indoor seating. Lots of parking in the parking lot. Restrooms are clean.

They don't accept dine in at 8:30pm. Came in at 8:20 deuces on what to order at 8:30, went up to order at 8:34 and were told o my for take out. We didn't want take out, the girl taking the order was shocked we didn't want to take out. No sign anywhere that dine in isn't available after a certain time.

We happened upon this place on taco Tuesday. My wife got a couple tacos at a great price, and I went for a quesadilla. I've always liked quesadillas and this one did not disappoint. We also got the chips and guacamole. It was also the best guacamole we've ever had at a restaurant.
