Stella Jean’s Ice Cream - The LAB

Came here after lunch since we were craving something sweet. It's a cozy place nestled in The Lab. It's clean and the staff is friendly and adept at answering questions. We ordered a split scoop of ube pandesal toffee and calamansi creamsicle, and a single scoop of tiger trail.Ube Pandesal Toffee- The ube flavor is rich and creamy. The pandesal toffee pieces add extra texture and gives it a caramel finish. A must try!Calamansi Creamsicle- This is a nice citrusy palate cleanser. The calamansi is bright and refreshing and it's balanced out by the creaminess.Tiger Tail- The chocolate is strong and rich so if you have a palate for dark chocolate, this one's for you. The orange is sweet and refreshing and evens out the flavors. Great place for ice cream!

We had time to kill and decided to get ice cream. We were reluctant as I recalled that this location was vegan only. Well no more... it is now a Stellla and it offers stellar ice cream. Small selection but we sampled pretty much all the flavors and they were all delicious. Not too sweet and very creamy. I love butter pecan and waffle cones and it was a wonderful treat. Our group also ordered the mango stick rice and tiramisu. We were debating to get pints and if they will even make it home. Great find and we will be back. Parking difficult during peak hours. Some seating available outside and there are stand up tables on the inside. Casual. Great service. Happy to give samples. Please come and create your own experience.

Pleasantly surprised! With ice cream, I'm always wary of sweetness levels, but I didn't find Stella Jean's to be overpowering in flavor or sweetness. I saw that the "mango sticky rice" had pandan, and as a pandan lover, I chose it immediately. I thought the mangos were pretty sweet, but it balanced well with the simple flavor of the "sticky rice". Very reminiscent of the real dessert! I chose my flavor without sampling, but the staff is very helpful in letting you sample however many flavors you want.My friend ordered the tiramisu, and she also praised how well hers replicated actual tiramisu! I'm not a tiramisu fan so I sat that one out, but it seems like a great one to try if you love tiramisu! She especially enjoyed the little toppings incorporated within the ice cream.I can see myself coming back to try the s'mores flavor, and possibly the ultimate raved-about ube pandesal + toffee. The flavor options remind me of Wanderlust, but at a bigger portion for the price! (single: $6.25). Overall, this is an ice cream spot I'd recommend trying at least once!

I was in the area and was craving some ice cream so I stopped by. I got the split single of milk n cookies and s s'mores. I thought the milk and cookies were decent, it didn't have that wow factor. I personally liked the s'mores better since it tasted like biting into a creamy s'more. The color of it is black so it can be deceiving but I promise you that's it's pretty good. The service was nice since they allowed multiple samples as well as advice. Inside had only one table to stand next so I was lucky enough to get it. I would try a full scoop of the s'mores next time! PS: Parking is so tough since it is a busy location with other stores so be sure to plan accordingly!

New favorite ice cream spot unlocked! I always stop by when I'm in the area and craving a sweet treat.They offer unique ice cream flavors and seasonal flavors - reminds me of Wanderlust and Salt & Straw! The flavor is also much deeper and richer than I'd expect from ice cream, so I loved it. You're able to sample flavors you want to try too, so go nuts - everything is good! Service is always super friendly, and the wall art inside is super dope. Will be back sooner than later!

This is one of my favorite ice cream places in all of Costa Mesa. The ube pan de sal toffee is my favorite flavor to get, and it pairs very well with the mango sticky rice. I usually get the split single scoop, which allows you to get two flavors for a lower price than the double scoop.The service here is excellent and the workers are very patient. They allow you to sample different flavors and they also provide recommendations for which ones to get. They are very generous with their portions which I appreciate. There is not much seating inside the store; there are only a few standing tables, but there are a lot of places to sit outside. The walls are decorated really nicely with art and mirrors which makes for great photo opportunities. :) Overall, the ice cream here is amazing and definitely worth a try if you're in Costa Mesa!

My wife and I decided to drop by here after dinner for a dessert. We ordered a Ube + Pandesal Toffee ice cream. It was really, really good - unique and indulgent. It captured the flavor of Ube yet complemented it with Toffee. The woman who served us was very friendly and helpful in giving us some samples to taste. The shop has a pleasant ambiance: there were nice standing tables and importantly on a cold night, it was warm --- the better to savor our ice cream. Definitely, this is on my list of ice cream shops to revisit.

Yummy, yummy ice cream in my tummy! Hidden in a little corner in the Lab mall for some decadent ice cream. The Ube Pandesal Toffee was surprisingly tasty. Rich and full of flavor. I love the busy and energetic drawing mural on the walls. A welcoming space for real good ice cream!

Stella Jean's Ice Cream is located in the lab and offers a limited selection of ice cream including vegan options. They do offer sampling, and I was able to sample their popular mango sticky rice flavor which was a bit disappointing and not as creamy.Split Scoop ($6.25) - This came with 2 flavors and I went with their cookies and cream as well as a double chocolate. Unfortunately the double chocolate wasn't as intense in terms of flavor as Italian gelato shops. The cookies and cream was rich and creamy and tasted pretty good.Overall, I wasn't impressed with their limited selection of flavors. The quality of ice cream of their non-vegan flavors is good, but certainly not the best out there.

Ughhhh the love I have for Stella Jean's!!! This is literally my favorite ice cream in the world. I've tried numerous locations, but this one was the most recent one I've been to. Hands down, the best ice cream in the world! They offer very unique flavors, but not too outlandish either. My favorite flavor would be Ube Pandesal Toffee. It's rich, offers a vibrant purple color, and the tiny pandesal pieces just take it to the next level. I also do enjoy their Mango Sticky Rice! You know it's good when you buy ice cream for yourself and you also take a pint home! :-)) Service has always been friendly and efficient, they also have some great merch as well. Love me some Stella Jean's!!! Hoping one day they come to my hometown in Las Vegas! That would be a dream come true!!!!
