Stella Jean’s Ice Cream - Newport Beach

This place is an absolute gem in Costa Mesa! I actually prefer this shop over Wanderlust in Irvine for its Asian fusion flavors. They give decent serving sizes and the Ube pandesal toffee was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with the toffee bits. There's a lot of other really cool flavors here and you can always ask for a sample. 5/5! The staff here are also really friendly :) and they are very helpful with recommendations. I never have to wait too long here to get ice cream which is always a plus! Interior is very aesthetically pleasing which is on par with the other shops at the anti lab. although there's not much seating inside the store, there's a lot of outdoor benches and seats outside where all the other shops are.

We're in love!!! Stella Jean's has been on my list for quite some time. So glad we had a chance to be in the area! We walked in on a rainy day and so the place was empty. We appreciate that we got to sample flavors. Someone recommended S'Mores and so that's what I ended up getting. No regret there. My son absolutely loved the UBE + PANDESAL TOFFEE. Love that the place is modern and simple and that they offer seating to enjoy our treats. We will definitely be coming back!

Probably our favorite ice cream OC!Stella Jean is an artisan ice cream brand that started in San Diego. They have since branched out to OC (there is another location in the Anti-Mall in Costa Mesa).They specialize in Asian-inspired flavors, such as ube toffee (their most popular), mango sticky rice, hojicha, and matcha. Although they also have your classic flavors like vanilla, double chocolate, etc.A little pricey at $6 for a single scoop ($6.25 for split single), but the quality is top-notch. Ultra creamy and flavorful -- and generous scoops too. Service is always friendly and they let you sample flavors.I just wish there was more indoor seating. There are no tables -- just a small bar -- so it is more of a grab-and-go place. They share their location with a pie shop next-door (same owners). Sidecar Donuts is also the store over (famous LA donut shop). Plenty of parking in retail plaza.

Ice cream was delicious the staff were friendly and welcoming. A lot of options to choose from but they are happy to give you samples.

I don't live in the area but it was on my husbands list and the best part is it's next to pop pie and sidecar so if your feeling adventurous hit up all three. Props to the guy working who didn't get annoyed with us wanting to try a bunch of flavors. The ube flavor and the mango sticky rice was so unique and I loved them both so I got a scoop of each. I need to come back and try calamansi creamsicle because I love calamansi.

Daughter wanted ice cream and man did she pick a good spot. All I have to say is the ube joint!!!

Hands down, one of the best ice cream shops around! Their ube and cookies and cream flavors are absolutely delicious. The service is also top-notch - super friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend! And very clean environment.

The salted maple banana pudding ice cream from here is to die for!! It is soooo good. The flavors don't taste artificial at all and it's the perfect balance between banana and maple. I'd say the banana flavor is a bit more on the mild side which I loved. 10/10!

Everything about this place was great. Service 5/5; Cleanliness 5/5; Ice cream 5/5; Quality 5/5.The friendly young lady that helped was great. She had no issues with letting us try as many flavors as we wanted. When we finally decided, we each got a double and probably should not have, calorie speaking, but it was perfectly scrumptious. For the price, the full single or double scoops are tennis ball size, but it felt more like soft balls. This location is a very far drive, but guaranteed that if and whenever I'm in the Newport or Costa Mesa area, I am stopping by.Tip: enjoy every bite and eat it there or right away. Favorite Flavor: Brown Butter Pecan

I never thought an ice cream shop could come close to Salt & Straw but I am obsessed with this place. The flavors are pretty unique and I was surprised at how many vegan options there were. The texture is SO. GOOD. I don't usually like toffee and s'mores flavored things usually end up being mid, but Stella Jean's did both really really well I wish there was a location closer to me. It's also very cute inside
