We came here to celebrate a good friend's birthday--someone who used to work at Steak Corral back in the day, when the skirts were pleather and the dress code leaned more "Wild West meets Disco Night." Nostalgia aside, let's be real: you don't come to Steak Corral for the ambiance or five-star service. You come for a steak that won't require a second mortgage. Here's the deal: you stand in line, place your order, and fend for yourself at the salad bar. Pro tip: Go for the plastic bowl--it holds way more salad, and let's be honest, in this economy you just want more for less. I ordered the filet, which, in hindsight, was a bold choice. It had the texture of a gym membership I haven't used since 2019--chewy and a little regret-inducing. BUT my friends ordered the ribeye, and based on the way their eyes lit up, I knew I had made a critical error. Both the birthday girl and little boss raved about their steaks--flavorful, cooked just right, and significantly more affordable than those fancy steakhouses where they charge extra for breathing their air.No long lines, sides included, and a meal that satisfied both the wallet and the taste buds? Steak Corral is like that old cowboy movie you randomly watch on a Sunday afternoon--unexpectedly enjoyable, slightly rough around the edges, but worth your time. So if you want a solid steak without maxing out your credit card, give this old-school gem a try. Just... maybe don't order the filet.

Overall this is ok for the price. Always wanted to try it but they should know how to cook a steak for a steak house. Service was outstanding. I don't mind dog friendly places but not in the kitchen. Not sure if the gentleman was an employee or not but he carried a dog into the kitchen.

When I walked it there wasn't no one there to greet me as I walked in. Someone eventually came and took our offer. Prices aren't bad since the meal with 2 sides. The food was feeling as I got a New York cut with salad and mashed potatoes. Salad bar is very pathetic. It wasn't enough variety. No water was offered since we didn't purchase a drink. And none came to check on us. Overall 4/10

There's not much more to say about Steak Corral other than that it is by far THE BEST steakhouse around for the price. Steak Corral has been providing the greater Whittier community with quality steaks and potatoes for decades. Steak Corral is a true American steakhouse classic. I regularly dine here and have never had a bad experience.Such a gem to have such a throwback in this chaotic world. If you dine here, ask for Liz. She's the best server I've ever had .

Love the old school western looking steakhouse vibe. Like others on Yelp mention, like Sizzler from the 70's. Family run as well. Food - Both of our steaks had lots of grisle or hard pieces like fat. This was not good. Even though they were ordered "medium" they were tough. Even the filet Mignon was tough. We wanted to love it but didn't. Baked potatoes were good and we liked the salad bar style or adding toppings and the salad bar as well. Wanted to love it, but just can't today. Having said that, the prices for steak were very inexpensive so our expectations weren't too high. Probably good for budget friendly dining. Nice not to have to pay $50+ for a steak.

The price for the steaks were a real good deal. The steaks were good for the price and I loved that you can make your own loaded potatoe and add your own toppings for your steak.

Amazing place! First of all it's not the sit down and order. You come in look at the menu and the wagon wheels place your order. Then they have a salad bar which is separate You pay separately it doesn't come with the meals. I suppose it's sort of pricey but you are definitely getting a good cut of meat. No cheap cuts of meat here. They even have pie and ice cream for your dessert. I got a kick out of the bathroom decor and the toddlers have a miniature horse with a saddle and it's cute as all get out. I hope the best time it was so cute Great service by the way. I think you're going to love this place if you want to come give it a chance. You can get a burger here also you know. They have their own parking lot. Bon appetit

I wanted something simple and decided to try it out . You get what you pay for and I'm not complaining. You get your own salad drinks and toppings once they bring your plate . I enjoyed fast steak lol
