We popped in after a walk on Balboa Island on a Saturday. It wasn't too crowded, we got seated right away. Our server was friendly, service a bit slow but we weren't in a rush and most people are here to relax and have a good time. We got a burger and a pizza, both were yummy! Seems they have a lot of local craft beer options, and cool seating options.

As locals, Snipe Island Crafthouse has quickly become one of our favorite spots to unwind and enjoy some great food and drinks. They offer an impressive selection of craft beers that always keeps us coming back for more. My daughter is particularly fond of their burgers--she loves how juicy and flavorful they are, a refreshing change from the usual dry patties you find elsewhere. For us, Snipe Island Crafthouse captures the essence of island living: laid-back vibes, friendly faces, and delicious food that always hits the spot.

Stopped in for dinner with my teen after looking at the Balboa Christmas lights, and wow, their food does not disappoint. Despite being a busy night, our server Hayden (I think) was friendly, attentive, and recommended an awesome bacon avocado burger. The fries were my favorite type, crispy on the outside and soft mashed potato on the inside. My daughter got the calamari and really liked how they were lightly seasoned. It was a generous order and would be perfect for sharing. The calamari came with ultra-thinly sliced lemons that had been battered and fried and were pretty tasty. I can't wait to come back and try their pizzas.

Great beer, great burgers and super service. My wife and I had dinner at Snipe Island last night. She had the standard burger and I had the BBQ burger. One non- alcoholic beer and one double IPA.

The interior of this restaurant is pretty comfortable. Some tables inside and 2 areas to sit while facing outside. We were lucky to get the latter. Our server was good but didn't offer a soda refill until we were done with our meals (-1 star). Bf ordered a taco salad with steak, and while good, he said he was disappointed that the server didn't clarify that it wasn't actually steak but ground beef (-1 star). I ordered the snipe burger and it was quite tasty. The brioche bun was a little greasy but it complimented the burger very well. I think it would be worth visiting this restaurant again when we do decide to visit Balboa Island again.

Had a great time yesterday celebrating "Nana's" 96th birthday! A special shout out to YVANNA for being such an accommodating and attentive waitress; especially for making my Spanish-speaking mother-in-law feel so welcome on her special day. Also, kudos go to JAMIE for making the arrangements to accommodate our large group of 12. We loved the ambience, loved the food and loved the service! We will be back.

I'm staying at the nearby Hyatt Regency and wanted to take a stroll over to Balboa Island to look for some dinner. I was really craving a burger and saw two spots, on the main drag, The Royal Hen, and Snipe Island. I decided to give Snipe Island a try and am glad I did. The place was pretty empty, though it was also pretty late (7:30pm) on a Sunday, but I sat up at the bar and was brought water and a menu right away. I ordered the Snipe burger with bacon. Although I wasn't in the mood for any drinks, they have a pretty decent beer selection with a lot of local options. It's not the most extensive list (probably 10 taps?) but a really solid one with something for everyone. The wine options are a bit more limited and definitely on the lower priced and lower quality part of the spectrum (IMHO). I'd go for the beers and if you have a wine drinker in tow, they'll certainly find something enjoyable, however if you are looking for a wine bar, I think there are better options in the area. The burger came out quickly and was cooked perfectly to temp. It was a solid burger overall - rich, beefy patty, nice aioli, and soft but sturdy bun. Really good. The fries were okay - they seemed to be frozen, pre-made fries rather than something cut in house, but not the end of the world. Their garlic aioli is delicious. The service was friendly and efficient, but also the place wasn't super busy when I stopped in.The only thing that was slightly disappointing and actually a bit comical is the $3 upcharge for adding bacon. $19 all in with the upcharge when there's a bacon avo burger on the menu for $18.50 that includes avocado. Seems to me that a regular burger with bacon (and no avocado) should cost somewhere between the plain burger ($16) and the bacon avocado burger ($18.50) but what do I know.

So here I am eating at snipe Island craft house almost one year to the day. And as a read my last review, I realize it is pretty much identical to this. Island cheeseburger was good. I asked the server if it was possible to get my burger anything besides well done who I wanted it. So I asked for medium to medium well and I received an absolutely well done burger. I get that a lot of restaurants will not serve a burger any way but well done but it always bothers me that when you ask and they act like you can get it something besides well done and then you never get it. I think it would be refreshing if they just said we always serve our burgers well done. Fries were great, double fried. Ambience was casual and easy which is nice. So I will come back again. I'm just not sure how to do this without getting a really well done burger; the answer is to switch to the pizza.

Great little place right on Balboa Island. The wine and food were both delicious. I highly recommend the taco trio. I ordered carnitas, grilled fish and carne asada. They were so flavorful and saucy. The others in our party had the chicken sandwich and french dip and they rated them a 10 out of 10. This is a great spot to stop into for drinks and food!

overall the food was nice, but we mainly got pizzas. They were fresh and tasty, the service was a tad slow, but not too bad considering it was fairly busy! What left a bitter taste was the bill, because we were a table of six, they put $20 service charge on top of the bill. Considering two of our group are under four years of age, we thought it was taking the preverbal!
