This place is by far our absolute favorite sushi restaurant in town. James and Jean are especially kind and provide the best service you can ask for. They are very welcoming and making sure everything is expected but better! The sushi rolls versus the price, you really can't beat the quality of fish you get and also getting the Chef's special rolls! James does an awesome job at creating new and tasty rolls like the Salmon Mango and Blue Fin Tuna roll - absolute fire! It is a smaller shop, and the decor is very subtle and peaceful! it is a smaller shop, which is nice because it feels more private and enjoyable!

All the sushi was so fresh, absolutely divine. Melt in your mouth tender across the board. Short of dunking my face on the ocean I can't picture anything fresher. No fish stink. No off putting textures. On top of that, friendly, genuine staff. You can tell this is a place built on some authentic love and pride in craftsmanship and service. Good people serving exceptional food. A high grade, artfully cut diamond that would be prized in any field, from the roughest to the best. Some of the best sushi I've ever had, by a long shot. Quality and presentation far and above the price point. Must visit. Must taste. Cannot recommend highly enough. Why isn't there an option for six stars? I want to give it six stars! And I want to go back to put more fish in my mouth!

We got the 3 roll special, and all 3 rolls were delicious, and completely worth it.Green tea ice cream is also amazing, with a big portion enough for 2 people.Don't overlook this place, definitely worth a try!

As a foodie, I'm always looking for new places to try, but I often fall into holding patterns in some areas, such as the 17th Street corridor in Costa Mesa. After hitting two usual spots (Shirley's Bagels for, you guessed it...) and Hi-Time Wine Cellars (clean bathrooms). A little search here on Yelp and studying the little maps, I realized this restaurant was close but just off the street. I lucked out and got one of two designated parking spots in front and walked in. It was before noon, and only one other table was sat, so I grabbed a spot easily. The server was a sweet lady who provided the proper aloof but not unaware style that promotes relaxation without ever having to flag her down. Green tea first, then my order. The chef is very deliberate in his movements, and I could tell that without peering over the counter, he's a stickler for detail and presentation. Sure enough, the platter came nicely arranged. Two cut rolls and nigiri sushi to get as wide as possible sample of their fish varieties. I especially enjoyed the Salmon Lemon roll with asparagus inside. The Hamachi was also really good, as was the salmon. I felt full enough for the planned wine tasting later that afternoon at Hi-Time Wine Cellars and drove down to Corona Del Mar to walk it off. I'll time my next trip for happy hour and get some Mussels!

Food was good but this place is overpriced, be aware!!!I, my husband and my 7 years old daughter came there last night for just our regular Saturday eating out (means no special occasion, no fancy restaurants on the list) and we picked this place based on Yelp reviews. And guess what, we got home with the bill of $179.3 (plus tip was $209)I would not pay that price range for that place, that location like that. We could totally go to a better place. Again food was good, service was okay. But overpriced. Felt like you checked in at a motel but had to pay for staying at 5 star hotel.

Great service and food! Highly recommend this place for fresh fish and variety of sushi. Their appetizers are also great- popcorn chicken, edamame, gyoza.

Had the Salmon lemon roll and Hawaiian Roll - delicious! And incredibly well presented. Such lovely staff too - highly recommend

We liked it. Not the highest quality, but affordable. I take my teenagers here and they love it! My bill is much better than I expected!

Came here since everything else was closed for the 4th of July. We were so impressed! The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and the restaurant, though small, was incredibly charming. We'll definitely be back!

The food was very good, it felt homemade and the the three sushi rolls we ordered came in a nice presentation plate. The server was very attentive and the sushi chef gave big good bye after leaving. Definitely the vibe for a hole in the wall spot!
