Sashimi

Sashimi in Lake Forest is such a good spot for fresh, delicious sushi. The atmosphere is laid-back, perfect for a casual night out or a quick lunch. Their poke roll was a standout for me; it's super fun to get the chef's choice of fish on it, and you end up with a nice mix of whatever they have more of that day. The Lake Forest roll was another favorite--I'm a big fan of spicy tuna, salmon, and avocado, so this hit all the right notes for me. Good balance of flavors, and the spice level was just right.The staff here is so friendly and attentive, always making sure you have what you need. They offer a points card that rewards you for every visit--makes it all the more tempting to keep coming back again.

Maybe I'm just a sushi snob and didn't realize it, but if it's not amazing, it's not worth eating.Service was solid--friendly staff, quick turnaround--but the sushi? Mid at best. I ordered the Sushi Combo 3 (Cali roll, Crunch roll, Yellowtail, Albacore, and a few others), it lacked that melt-in-your-mouth quality. Good sushi should be fresh, buttery, and have zero fishy taste--this missed the mark.Wifey got the Crunch Roll and Super Bowl, and 30 minutes later... her stomach wasn't having it. We even had to make a pit stop at Home Depot on the way home. Giving 2 stars because my 3-year-old actually enjoyed the edamame. But overall, the price vs. quality ratio is way off. $100 for three people, and we left with leftovers we didn't even want--2 pieces of sushi, 3 pieces of Crunch Roll, and 0 edamame. At that price point, we should have left wanting more, not regretting it.Unfortunately, we won't be back.

Ordered takeout from Sashimi, called and spoke to Steve over the phone. He was friendly and enthusiastic! I didn't feel rushed. My husband went in to pick it up and arrived earlier than the quoted time. Steve was there to greet him and offered some water while he waited. We ordered the chicken teriyaki bento special (chicken, rice, 4 pieces of ca roll, shrimp/veggie tempura, salad, soup) and one rainbow roll. What we loved:- the service- our rolls, the salad dressing, and tempura were DELISH- I eat a lot of ginger and they provide a generous amountThe chicken teriyaki wasn't our favorite. The pieces were cut really thin and needed more sauce. Since they put the rice, chicken, and salad in a box with 3 compartments, you only get a few pieces of lettuce for the salad. We loved the dressing so much and luckily had some lettuce at home to add. Will come back again for pickup and to dine in. I'd probably order the same thing but try out another protein instead of chicken teriyaki or I'll just ask for extra teriyaki sauce.

Tried this place out for the first time on a busy Friday evening. We were seated fairly quickly and the service was excellent. The sushi was good and tasted fresh, but the rolls, particularly anything with spicy tuna in it, were not great. The spicy tuna had a sweet taste to it, no spiciness at all.

This is not food, its work of art! Where can I start? Selection, freshness, taste, presentation, they have them all. Don't forget to ask for the stamp card. Not the best selection of wine, but amazing beers. Plenty of parking, nice outdoor seating in addition to bar seating.

I heard about Sashimi from friends who spoke highly of it, so a group of us went one night and enjoyed everything we ordered. I was especially pleased with the portions for the yellowtail belly and salmon belly.I finally got my husband, who is very picky with sushi, to check it out. He thought the sushi quality was just okay and wouldn't come back. We got our toddler the chicken katsu plate, but the chicken was a bit dry, and he didn't eat much of it.I've been a fan of their sushi taco (spicy tuna with avocado and mayo), but the last time I tried it, something was missing--the flavor was off.The staff here are super friendly, sweet, and accommodating. I would still consider coming back for decent sashimi, but with friends since my husband isn't a fan.If you love sushi rolls, this is your place--their menu is huge!Oh, and they have points card so be sure to bring it every time.

This is a local spot that we recently found. Love that their front parking spots are labeled Sashimi. This establishment is not large but the friendly staff, delicious food, and quality is awesome. At one point, they had fresh sweet shrimp that came through. wow... we were amazed at what they did with it. In terms of other items, there's a lot of creativity on the menu. While some items stick to their roots, you'll find plenty here that can captivate your pallet. Paired with fresh ingredients, you'll have a wonderful and enjoyable experience. I want to mention that the staff remembers you. Even with a 2-3-month gap, it's amazing that one of the staff recognized me when we walked in. That say's something about their interactions with patrons. Love this local spot. Will stop in to try other items on the menu. :)

The quality of the sushi is so good and worthy the price! I really love their selection of fish. The rolls they make are very unique. all the chefs are so sweet and very attentive. We got sat immediately at the bar. Sake was a great price.

Sashimi was terrific! I sat outside on their cute little patio on a beautiful day. I ordered the oysters, spicy garlic edamame and the yellowtail and tuna tataki nigiri. The oysters were fresh and had so much flavor; I was very pleasantly surprised. The garlic edamame was seasoned well and it was just what I was looking for. The nigiri was so tasty and it melted in my mouth. The service was impeccable. The sweet girl who served us went above and beyond. She refilled our waters constantly and when I inquired about nigiri options she brought out a separate menu and offered recommendations, always having a smile on her face. I appreciated that the prices weren't outrageous considering how pleased I was with this meal. Can't wait to come back

Stopped here on a Sunday evening and it wasn't crowded at all. Ordered a couple of dishes and thought it was very overpriced. The salmon sashimi was just okay. Didn't taste fresh. Escolar sushi didn't taste that fresh either. The rolls were decent though and filling. Mochi ice cream for $4 was kind of a rip . Probably wouldn't go back but good customer service
