Cute little cafe nestled behind the flower shop on Forest Ave. Love coming here for their breads & pastries. They have a seasonal breakfast / brunch menu. Limited inside seating but the shared patio has a few more bigger tables. Rye's seasonal garden foccacia (ask to warm it up) & their biscuit stuffed with butter & jelly... mmmm. So. So. Good. The sourdough loaf (jalapeño cheddar) is also good. Not a coffee person, but my family loves their lattes here. Great service & a local favorite.

The food here is really good. The ingredients taste fresh and the food tastes almost homemade in the best way. I feel good after I eat here, fresh clean ingredients make for fresh and clean energy. The service is good, no complaints there. The only thing keeping me from giving this place 5/5 is the pricing. Both times I've come here it's been 20$+ for one item including tip. I understand it's Laguna, and healthier spots tend to be more expensive, but I can't justify 20$ for an average sized breakfast burrito. I will most likely come back just because the food tastes and makes me feel good, but I can't be a regular. And I can't recommend it to family or friends because it's inaccessible. In short; amazing food, very high price, worth it if you have the money to spare.

Tucked away in the heart of downtown Laguna in the Lumber Yard is the super quaint Rye Goods! The shop itself has a small amount of seating but there is also plenty of outdoor tables to enjoy your yummy pastry, coffee, and the fresh air. I loved their iced oat milk earl grey latte and the incredible crumbly scone with fresh blackberry jam and cream (highly recommend trying!!!) but my bf and I agreed the almond croissant fell short. It was very dense and stale so while the filling itself was good, the outer shell was disappointing. Service is quick. Can't wait to try their lunch/dinner menu next time

I've been wanting to try Rye Goods for some time and this week I went for brunch with a friend. What a cool location with lots of great outdoor seating in the heart of downtown Laguna Beach. It's obviously a favorite of many as this place was bustling the whole time we were enjoying our meal. I had the avocado toast and hands down the best yet!! My friend loved her rye scramble too. Staff were friendly and efficient - kept the line moving so there was not a lot of wait time. I'd definitely go back. The only negatives were that the shop smelled like BO and the lattes are way too small for the price.

Love Rye Goods bakery and cafe. First time at this location. Sunday morning after an hour of driving to Laguna Beach this was our first stop. Got a few pastries and coffee to enjoy before walking around the village. The ambiance here is great. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating near the shops. I loved their specialty item so much. It was a crispy and flaky biscuits stuffed with whipped butter/cream and jam. So delicious. My son got the tea cake and loved it so did I. I can easily say everything we ordered we enjoyed it. Fresh and great quality baked goods are sold here. The coffee is amazing as well. Customer service was friendly. I'll be back soon.

Try the summer lattes! I was hesitant to try the iced peach latte, but the kind lady at the counter ensured me it was worth it. Magnificent flavor; not overly sweet and tasted true to genuine peach. The pastries were also delicious and the shop had a very calm atmosphere.

A cute bakery tucked behind the USPS store that offers a wide variety of baked goods and drinks! I ordered the morning sugar latte which I thought would have a caramelized sugar taste but was sadly let down as it tasted like a normal iced latte. Loved the pastries! Donut had a good amount of whipped chai filling that wasn't too overwhelmingly sweet. Sad that the meringue got smushed but it balanced well with the pumpkin filling! Will visit again to try more pastries!

Today will mark my last day of being a customer at Rye Goods. I come to this location and Tustin at LEAST 1-2 times a week. My espresso machine broke so for the last 2 weeks I've been going to Rye Goods almost every day. However as of late, every single experience is getting increasingly worse. I came in at 7 am today, and ordered two simple coffees, Decaf iced latte, and decaf cappuccino. (Both with regular milk). That's it. Waited about 20+ minutes while the new barista figured out how to get coffee out of the machine. She was obviously new, okay fine, I just waited. The only other person there was a manager. First off- he was really rude. He saw me waiting forever for the coffee and did not care at all. Their café was COMPLETELY empty. I was the ONLY customer in there. The cashier/barista was struggling a lot with the coffee- and he still wouldn't come help her. I can't wait around for 20-30 mins for a coffee. Eventually she had to ask him for help and I had to wait while she had a training session at 7am. I have places to be, I can't be waiting around for ages waiting for her to learn an instruction manual on coffee making. Also, don't you need some sort of experience to work at a café?? She genuinely did not know how to grind espresso. Eventually she pulled out some ground espresso and then she realized she made some kind of mistake and threw it all away- visibly very nervous. The manger then came by and added some coffee beans to the machine. After she tried to make the cappuccino twice- she gives me two hot drinks. She made me a hot latte. I ordered iced. I told her this and gave her the drink back and she realized I ordered iced. Then she proceeded to make the single handedly worst coffee I have ever tried. It was like sour milk that had went bad and no coffee flavor. It had such a little amount of coffee that the drink was literally pure milk. I'm assuming she didn't dose the coffee correctly, the entire thing was a mess. And then she used some dirty small whisk to mix my drink and it looked really gross.. definitely was not clean. Never seen anyone at Rye Goods do that before for a latte. Not to mention- this was the most rancid smelling café I have ever walked into. I literally felt sick inside and I was so grossed out. When I came back out to bring the coffee to my friend, she told me she could smell it from OUTSIDE (their door was pushed to stay open.) I'm not kidding, I had to wash my coat twice to get the smell out. That seems like a sanitation issue or something. I'm never coming here again. You could smell it as you walked out of their café....At first I thought it was food, and then as I stood there I wished I had just asked for a refund before the coffee was even made, and left. That is how disgusting it was. My friend took a sip of her coffee and literally spit it out. She also said "is this spoiled milk"??? She also said it was basically cold milk. Absolutely terrible. The cappuccino was cold, and it was just made. I would have went back inside and thrown away the drinks right there and asked for a refund if we weren't already driving.BOTH drinks had to be thrown away. $11.50 (including $1.50 tip) down the drain!!! For a place that is incredibly expensive- this is how little they care about their employee's training and their loyal customers! Well, I am no longer a customer here. I'll spend my money somewhere clean and that values quality.
