The food is still great. I've been here about a handful of times over the past yr. I would say our fav dishes are the shrimp etouffe (broth is amazing!!!), jambalaya, garlic noodles with shrimp and sausage and the Mardi Gras pasta. Service is still super friendly. I forget her name but the waitress/hostess always does an excellent job. It's a really nice mom and pop spot. If I lived closer I would go more often.

I haven't left a yelp review in a while but wanted to jump on here to boost this restaurants rating because local restaurants are having a hard time these days and I thought this place was great. All the food was really flavorful and I thought the price point was really reasonable for what they were serving. Had lobster bisque, fried catfish and the steak. Service was really attentive too. Will definitely be back for my NOLA fix!Heads up they only have a beer and wine license (offer soju cocktails though)

I had high hopes for this spot, but my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. I ordered the ribeye, which unfortunately came out overcooked. While it still had decent flavor, I was definitely expecting a better execution on a cut like that. The lobster tail was another letdown--the sauce they used was way too tangy for my liking and completely overpowered the natural sweetness of the lobster. The saving grace of the meal? The garlic noodles. Absolutely fantastic--perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and something I'd definitely come back for.One thing I have to give them credit for is the service. The staff was very attentive and helpful with my order, which made the overall experience better than it otherwise would have been.

Let' start with the things at Roux that really work! It was the food that was the best thing about this place. The food was five stars and the boys in the kitchen really know their stuff. I have never been to New Orleans butnow I know what the place tastes like.Barbecued Oysters!! Incredibly tasty. Shrimp etoufee: very creamy and tastyMardi Gras Pasta: excellent and very filling Shrimp Jambalaya: my favorite. It had all the spices and flavor. tThe decor and seating are what is not so great about the place. They have an adjacent room for parties and a long bar near where you sit for dinner. It is dark, outdated, and has nothing to do with New Orleans. It is a nightclub decor, and not a place to bring your kids. That could be hundreds more customers. Roux needs to decide, are we a nigh club or are we a restaurant? The kitchen gets five stars and could be a lot busier if the front of the house we a more family friendly place to visit. We had to wait five minutes for anyone to notice us when wearrived since there has a long line of people who wanted to go to the bar from the party next door. I had to break the line, go to the kitchen and ask for some help. There was no hostess, no waiter noticed us, no one to help us. A good place that could be so much better.

Accepts reservations, had cheerful staff, displayed festive decor for the holidays, and served a nice variety of comforting seafood/Cajun/fusion meals. It was very quiet when we got there right at opening for dinner, and though it's a smaller restaurant, it didn't feel cramped. Parking is in a shared lot within the plaza.Fried Calamari: 2/5. They had a strange sweet seasoning and were served with a thin green sauce that was also sweet. I didn't really like them and wouldn't get them again.Clam Chowder (small size): 5/5. Deliciously savory and creamy, entire family liked it. Definitely a must-try!Mardi Gras Pasta level 3/10 spicy: 4/5. I liked the variety of proteins in the sea of fettucine. The sauce was slightly sweet with a hint of spiciness, though I wished it had a bit more salt.Cajun Garlic Noodles with Lobster and Shrimp: 4/5. Lobster tail was peeled and served on top of the shell as a garnish to the noodles. Very garlicky, strongly flavored sauce.Jambalaya level 7/10 spicy: 3/5. Seemed a bit dry and not decently spicy for jambalaya (there wasn't a gumbo-like broth present in the pan). The rice did taste seasoned but surprisingly plain for what should be flavorful and spicy.Catfish Platter: 4/5. Chunky filets of fish with a crispy breading and served with shoestring fries, a classic.Seafood Boils, including peeled shrimp level spicy and mussels level medium: 5/5. Per my family's reactions and comments, they enjoyed these very much.

What a treat!! My friends took me to this place for my birthday celebration. The food was amazing!! I was really surprised due to that I had just came from a trip from New Orlean. If you are craving for an authentic Cajun food, this is the place to be. Great service. Always recommended to all my friends and family. The potion of the food was good and the price for seafood is a fair price.

Today was the 1st of the year of the snake, most if not all Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants were closed, I was in a funk and did not know where to go when I thought about ROUX again. Excellent choice, we were so satisfied, it's 6 stars today!! 5 stars on other days so why was the restaurant almost empty? I said it once, said it again and again BUT THE MANAGER OR OWNER DID NOT SEEM TO GET IT, NOBODY I KNOW WANTS TO EAT IN AN IGLOO, what were they thinking it was so cold, my teeth just about went rattling! I had my winter coat on and it was very uncomfortable, worse yet the food got cold so fast so it does not do justice if people can't enjoy the food if it's cold.Unless this changes I'm afraid things can go downhill and it would be tragic as I just LOVE LOVE this Cajun/Creole cuisine. I was in New Orleans many times, my parents used to live there, I had dined in all the restaurants in the French quarter and no one can compete with ROUX, they do have the secret sauce. It's not just me complaining about the cold, my husband born in the BLACK FOREST, cannot stand it, the table next to me asked me if I thought it was cold, I said yes, I had my winter coat on.Their most popular dish is the lobster over pasta, it was grilled to perfection over yummilicious pasta w their signature sauce, it was really reasonably priced not cutthroat pricing as in ALL THE CHINESE RESTAURANTS these days, I hate it when I saw all the young folks ordering 5 lbs lobster at $42 a lb? gimme a break then they demand JOE to forgive their student loan, it's price gouging and or highway robbery as I saw the price in ABC market I think it was $18 or $20 a lb. Their lobster bisque is one of a kind, I have had bisque all over the world, in every cruise ship and nobody ever came close, I ate the big bowl by myself, I just had my cholesterol checked and I'm good! LOL! Their PoBoy sandwich was also good, not 5 stars though, the Cuban sandwich they used to have was 5 stars, please bring it back. On other occasions, I had Mardi Gras pasta, delicious but a little too creamy. Everything on the menu was good, really exceptional was the rib eye, whoa! Only $29, God bless them, you come here and you won't have to mortgage your home for a good meal, it's $39 at Black Angus and like $50 at water grill, come back for water grill review. All above mentioned yummy seafood were on all the previous dining, today we only had Chilean sea bass, it's the most sought after fish and most restaurant price gouged to the tune of $45 to $55, here it was only $29, all these years I never had this fish bc I refused to pay that outrageous price, bc next it would be like you'd have to sell one kidney to afford it, LOL LOL! It was grilled to perfection w 2 shrimps over rice, I chose grilled veggies instead of rice or potato. The fish was flaky, tasted like butter, it was so delicate, from now on it's this fish for me, I'm a carnivore so rarely eat fish except sweet and sour fish in Chinese restaurants. I also had Thai food from Phuket with Roux food.I gave the title "best on planet earth" to Yummy Pho unfortunately I have to revoke it soon, it was downhill after their grand opening day, ROUX IS ROCK SOLID each and every time, it was an out of body experience, and this restaurant truly is the best on PLANET EARTH, I felt I had "Gong xi Fa cai" after the dinner. Come dine here, thank me later, they deserve more recognition, I'll make a nice video for social media, I made so many but kept on forgetting to @ Yelp for the Yelp community. My husband just popped in and told me it was not cold today as he waited for the take out. It was cold in all my previous 7 times. Many lousy VN restaurants had amazing professionally made videos on Instagram that brought in all the customers, it's 2025 everybody and their grandmother is on social medias, I suggest ROUX does the same thing.

Online it looks great but when you get there service is slow. The ambient is nice for the place. The food flavor not good the calamari is deep fried then sautéed so it's mushy. The other food is bland needs better flavor

I returned to this Roux, eager to experience it again after my first visit! This time, I brought along a couple of friends who were just as excited to dive into the Cajun and seafood offerings.Upon arrival, the place had a cozy yet upscale vibe, and it wasn't too crowded again, which made for a relaxed dining experience. Our server, Christian, remembered me and greeted us warmly, making us feel right at home. It's always nice when you get that kind of personal touch!Rib Eye Steak - I had to order the rib eye again because it was just that good! It did not disappoint; it was cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavor. My friends were equally impressed and couldn't believe how delicious it was coming from a place known for seafood.Seafood Platter - This time, I tried the seafood platter, and it was a hit! The shrimp were succulent, the fish was incredibly fresh, and the portion was generous. Everything was beautifully cooked and seasoned just right, definitely a must-try for seafood lovers! Mashed Potatoes and Garlic Noodles - I had to order these sides again, and they did not let me down. The creamy mashed potatoes were just as delicious as I remembered, and the garlic noodles stole the show once more--so flavorful and perfectly al dente!Jambalaya - I decided to give the jambalaya another shot because I wanted to see if it had improved. Happily, it definitely did! The rice was better cooked this time, and the spices had a nice kick without being overwhelming. While it wasn't my favorite dish on the menu, there was plenty of hearty meat, and it was much more enjoyable than my last visit. Overall, this place continues to impress! The standout for me remains the incredible customer service--Christian and the team were attentive and friendly throughout our meal. I love that they remember my previous orders and are genuinely interested in making my dining experience great. I'll definitely be back again to explore more of the menu and bring more friends along for the ride! Highly recommend this spot for anyone in the mood for delicious Cajun, steak and seafood cuisine!

I'd been here once before, and had the jambalaya. I can't remember that experience. This time, I had the Mardi Gras Pasta and definitely found a winner!Rue is a seafood restaurant, but it came up when I searched for a Cajun restaurant near me. Thus, I went there for the Cajun food. They're located Midway Beach Boulevard. There's an ample parking lot right in front of the restaurant. It's nicely decorated inside, and the two times I've been there it has not been full.Service is friendly and competent. Food is good.
