First time visiting. Came for taco Tuesday. Carnitas and shredded beef soft tacos were tasty but I would have preferred tortilla not quick fried on oil. Grand margarita was very good and love its on a schooner. Great margarita variety. We also ordered chile Colorado plate. It was ok but lacked spiceness and rice had a tad too much cumin for my liking but overall it was a good portion and do-able. Topped everything off with flan which was very tasty. Outdoor ambiance is beautiful with large patio amongst large oak trees and beautiful waterfall. Our server Daniel was very nice and helpful. Will definitely return to try other dishes.

What an amazing dining experience last evening. Andrea was our fantastic server. She was friendly, professional and efficient. We started with margaritas and boy are they good. I had the Cadillac and my wife had a frozen and I also had a mango. They were excellent. The ambiance is amazing and so therapeutic. For dinner we both had the enchilada entrees. My wife had the chicken and I had the beef. Everything was perfect and we so enjoyed our time there, the food, the people and the surroundings. Highly recommended

I've come here a handful of times because my in-laws live in the area and they sometimes park their horses in the front. I have enjoyed their extensive menu from brunch to dinner options. Service has always been spot on and the staff always seem to be happy to serve the patrons. Depending on where you want to sit might be difficult. We love the outdoor back patio cause it's so beautiful and if we are there at the night the lights just add to the ambiance. This is a place you don't want to miss out on if in the area.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant to come to and it just is our little gem that's out of the way. We live in Irvine and it's really not that far and it feels like you're in another country and we love the music for beer and the staff. Maybe I forgot to mention the food. We absolutely love the food as well, but it's mostly ambience and service.

My family has come here for years to celebrate birthdays, mother's day, and father's day, so I figured it was time to write a review. First thing you notice is the beautiful, secluded location in the canyon. The large deck has shade provided by mature trees and a serene waterfall in the background... it's probably one of the best outdoor restaurant spaces in South OC. They have a large variety of Mexican dishes and cocktails, and we' have always enjoyed everything we have ordered. It's definitely worth a try!

Was taken here about 3 years ago and the only great thing I have to say about this place is that it's a beautiful drive and has a beautiful view. Wonderful lighting and perfect for a date as long as you and your date DO NOT EAT HERE. The food is abysmal and does not represent authentic Mexican cuisine. Taco Bell is a better option. Which honestly might make your date night cuter! Go to Taco Bell, eat in the parking lot, go in for some drinks and enjoy the view. 3 stars for the ambiance.

Wow! What a super fun place to find up in the Canyon.. It's a Mexican restaurant with some of the best Cadillac margaritas or prickly pair margaritas . The food is OK it's actually very tasty , but it's really about the surroundings. If you have the opportunity to sit outside on their patio, there is a gigantic tree that everyone sits around. We had a beautiful table right next to the tree. It was about 70° so it was gorgeous outside. The waiters are so good. It's a really fun place just to go and enjoy yourself. Give yourself time to walk outside. There's a couple of trails very dog friendly plenty of parking. there's a great history that goes along with this property in the past. It was many different things. It was a biker hang out at one point. It was a just a regular café and now it is a bona fide Mexican restaurant. Super fun we cannot wait to go back in the evening time when the tree is all lit up .

Rose Canyon Cantina, is one of the magical hideaway places, away from the city, tucked into the hills with a beautiful natural surrounding. Approaching from the outside, it is a colorful restaurant with a large outdoor expansive deck shaded by large majestic trees and umbrellas. The trees are wrapped in strings of lights, making it feel even more enchanting at night. The water features, from the water fountain in front, to the really large waterfall in the back are spectacular. The check in lobby area is small, but quaint and welcoming. The interior again proudly displays its colors, from the beautiful pictures, to the brightly lit bar displaying all the bottles and under lit green glow around the seating. The staff is professional and friendly. I originally asked to dine in but quickly changed my mind after surveying the ambience out back. Once seated, I ordered their Signature happy hour margarita and decided upon a two item combination dinner to sample their fish taco and beef flauta. My +1 decided upon enchiladas with spinach and shrimp. After ordering, I excitedly began taking pictures of the surroundings. Our order arrived in a short amount of time and the servers were fantastically attentive in providing drinks, water or anything else you might need. The food was hot and looked delicious. The items looked fresh and carefully made and authentic. The quality of the food was incomparable and high above any large chain Mexican restaurant. The food was savory and scrumptious.I especially enjoyed my visit to Rose Canyon Cantina, from the backwoods drive through the hills going past Cook's Corner to this hidden little gem with extraordinary authentic Mexican fare. This is one of those places you hesitate to tell too many others about, but plan to visit often.
