A friend brought us tea beverages for the holiday.BOBA MILK TEA (100% sweet):-- not very creamy so I would request whole milk or whatever milk option maximizes the creaminess-- dark in color-- WAY too sweet...I like sweet but here I would go 50% or 25%...probably 25 and adjust at home with my dark Canadian maple syrup only if necessary-- boba is good and lightly sweet-- the next day I added 2 Irish breakfast black tea bags, heavy cream (to avoid additional sugar) and it was still way too sweetRATING = B (as presented today)NOTE: but surely if I customized it my way it would be more of an A or A-

Good boba. Really interesting menu- a lot mixed drink combos. All refreshing. A little bit on the high priced side of boba especially without the mix ins. Good ambiance. Looks fancy. There's something keeping it from being 5 stars... it tries to be high end when it's not quite there

Redstraw is a bit of an enigma for me. When I first discovered this boba shop a year or 2 ago during my visits to Irvine, I was impressed. The Rose Garden in particular was a highlight for me. Great flavor, refreshing, and to top it all off, a focus on "healthier" boba drinks.I was always perplexed by the lack of customers. I mean, nearby shops like Omomo have lines out the door. Perhaps this was a hidden gem?Now that I've lived in Irvine and got to frequent boba shops around here more often, it's starting to make sense. Redstraw has its own niche. If you're looking for a nice fruit tea, this is definitely a great option. Rose Garden, or any of the "mocktail" sounding drinks (Peach Bellini, Mojito, etc.) are fantastic. Just make sure to get less sweet.However, they don't really have much else. Milk teas are just ok. No slushies. Coffee options are just alright. So yea, if you just want to get a refreshing drink on a hot summer day, this could be a good spot. Otherwise, other boba shops have it beat in terms of variety.

The drinks are freshly brewed tea sweetened to perfection. I had the salted cream Thai tea and you can really taste the bitterness of the Thai tea and not that usual powder crap. Our drinks were made within minutes after ordering and the service was fast!It's very clean inside and a cute place to study.

Pretty good and fruit forward boba place in Irvine.The focus here is more of the fruit teas with the usual milk tea options. It is a refreshing option to have in the summer and you can adjust ice and sugar levels like you would in any other boba place. Worth checking out if you want something to quench your thirst!

Stopped by for a pick me up for the first time. They don't use nondairy creamer here but they use real milk for all their milk drinks. They also have alternatives like soy, almond and oat milk. I got their honey oolong salted cream 25% sweet with honey boba and it was pretty good! I really liked their pearls -- chewy and sweet. I feel like lots of boba shops don't make pearls well -- they're either too small, or not sweet, or overly swollen and not a nice chewy consistency -- so I was happy about that. The cashier was helpful and polite.

Came here after getting some shabu next door and I must say it was very delicious.The place inside is so clean and has this cozy feel where you can either do some homework or have tea and enjoy some company with friends and family. It had a welcoming presence to it when you walk in. I love their tea choices and it was very refreshing. I don't remember the exact name of the drink I got but i think it was called fresh daisy but that one was definitely my favorite . Very nice and enjoyable to drink. Thank you red straw for the yummy teas . I'll be back for more soon

I ordered the strawberry jasmine at 50% sugar, but it was still overly sweet. My friend, who ordered theirs at 25% sugar, had the same experience. The service was pretty indifferent, with staff simply calling out order numbers without much effort. While the atmosphere was decent, I don't think I'd return.

Not for studying)- Parking: 5/5 (shopping center)- Restroom: yesIf you're looking for a cute place to grab a sip with a friend and catch up, Redstraw has a cute interior space filled with tons of plants. There's plenty of outdoor seating too. Service is a bit slow since they have to steep your teas/prep your matchas- so budget at least 6-8 min wait time. The menu is pretty vast with lots of fresh tea options.My friend got a strawberry matcha (small but DELICIOUS, sweet and creamy). I ordered an iced jasmine milk tea with 25% sugar, which was very minimally sweet but tasted very watery overall. I get scared to ask for less ice so I don't get less drink... Not impressed by the milk tea but you should definitely try their fresh brewed teas, I think that's their specialty!!
