Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love Popeyes. The chicken. That is if they give me the correct order. Popeyes, has really delicious juicy chicken. I only order dark meat, meaning thighs and drumsticks. You do not know how many times I have ordered thighs and drumsticks, only to get home and find wings and chicken breasts in my order. It is extremely infuriating. When ordering the types of meat, I literally tell them no breast, no wings, nothing but thighs and drumsticks. Wanna know why I'm constantly repeating thighs and drumsticks? It's because I also constantly repeat myself to them, only for them to get it wrong every time. Why do I keep coming back? Because we love Popeyes chicken. Just chicken. Not the customer service, not the restaurant itself, but the chicken. Not really a fan of the sides, except the coleslaw which is actually not too bad. The coleslaw is old school. If you were around back in the Alpha Beta grocery days, that's what they taste like. The biscuits are also really good. We are not a fan of the mac & cheese and the other sides, therefore we never get them. So if you are going to order specific types of chicken pieces here, make sure you open the box and go through every single piece before you leave this establishment, or else you're gonna get home and just start screaming about how they screwed up your order again for the millionth time.As far as the ambience goes, I can't really attest to that. I always just go through the drive-through. Don't forget to use your app to collect points for some free food. Popeyes, really needs to work on their customer service to include giving people the correct order at all times. Because every time I come here, my order is wrong. That isn't a joke. I've always thought people who say "they always get my order wrong" were just exaggerating...but exaggerating I am not. Do better guys.

Terrible service. No manners at all and got my order 100% wrong ! Imma make a comment somehow on their website too this is unacceptable and all because the employee was too focused on chatting with car in front of us.... don't know how you get a spicy 3 piece to turn into this ! The employees name was Jesus... if we didn't remind him, we would've gotten NO DRINK so it's sucks EVEN MORE that the order was wrong. Save the trouble and go to KFC.... not even worth eating this so imma make something at home now :/

My husband and I were talking about how we were craving Popeye's fried chicken so we decided to go get some. We showed up at the Mission Viejo location and walked up to the counter. The cashier asked us to order at the kiosk behind us. Oh, okay. Rookie mistake I guess. I ended up downloading the app to see what kind of promo offers were available. Some promos are location specific though. I found a 5 piece chicken, 2 sides, & 2 biscuits deal for $12.99. I ordered on my phone and set the pickup time as now. My order was ready fairly quickly. We got the mac & cheese and mashed potatoes as sides. I'm a fan of both. My husband didn't think he'd like the gravy on the potatoes but he was pleasantly surprised. The mac & cheese was good too. We got the spicy fried chicken and it was just as good as I remembered growing up. It was piping hot and the batter was crispy with a hint of spicy. My parents really loved Popeyes when I was a kid so we would get it every so often as a treat. My husband who grew up in Louisiana, remembers getting Popeyes when he was a kid too. While we don't get a ton of fast food these days, there are still a few chains that we will partake in when we are in the mood. Reasons why they didn't get more stars: I asked about the restrooms being locked and if there was a key. I was told that the restroom on the left was for employees and the one on the right was for customers. Turns out 2 different employees were using the restroom on the right. The other ones were locked for whatever reason (I was they were probably occupied, but I didn't see anyone enter or leave them the entire time I was there and we dined in). Once I was able to enter an empty restroom, I found ZERO soap to wash my hands with. It's nice that they tell the employees with signs to wash their hands before returning to work but kind of concerning when soap isn't available.

I wanted to check on the craze for Popeye's chicken sandwich so I've been here a few times. The service is average and definitely not on par with Chik-Fil-A or Raising Canes. The store is a little cramped and doesn't seem as light and bright as the other chains. The sandwich is just ok and I don't see what the fuss is about. Just seems like another chicken sandwich. While I won't go out of my way for one, I will have another if it's the only chicken sandwich option out there.

I don't understand the two star average. One guy even tried to blame his need for a root canal on a dessert from this location. Dude, the need for a root canal doesn't happen overnight; it's the result of prolonged neglect of one's teeth. Anyway. . . .I like this location. Ordering and paying online is a snap and makes it effortless with no waiting. You place your order and indicate what time you want to pick it up, and, sure enough, it's ready to go when you get there. Sure, it's fast food, but it's good: - The fried chicken is probably the best fast food fried chicken one will find. I gave up on KFC a long time ago. - The red beans and rice is terrific. - The mac n' cheese is good, too. - The biscuits are reliably good, too. I can't speak to the ambience of the dining room because I always get our orders to go.

Always a fan of Popeyes food selection and quality, but their staff not so much. I received attitude asking for help on an order and they kept differing me to order in the kiosk. The kiosk was buggy however, and wouldn't let me order chicken as a standalone entree.

Walked away due to terrible service. The advertisement on the window is not available. Hugo the cashier asked us to order online instead. Another customer paid for bottle water but directed to get from tap water instead. Decided to order family combo but the cashier hugo sent my son back to order on the device instead of on his register. Decided to leave and order KFC instead.

It seems like every time I go to this location there is an issue. I am done with going here. I will drive out of my way if I want Popeyes. I ordered an online order with a 45 minute lead time. They forgot two items. Now normally I check and this time it was my fault for not checking but the ticket was taped to the outside of the bag so I assumed but that's my fault for expecting them to do their job correctly when I have had issues before. So now I'm done going to this location.

Extremely disappointed! Went to pick up early for my family. Went around 3:30 pm. There was no crowd. One other customer. Ordered a 14 pc spicy leg and thigh meal. When my family sat down to eat later in the evening, my daughter opened our order, she advised me that it were an array of pale skinny tenders. We have never ordered tenders. And after eating a few, it validates why we don't order tenders. Not sure how one confuses legs and thighs for tenders. We will not patronize this location again.
