Philz Coffee

I've been looking forward to this location opening and have already been 3 times since they opened, including being their first mobile order. I used to go here all of the time when I lived in the Bay Area so there's a nostalgia element for me. Anyway, ff you've never been to Philz before the thing that makes them a little bit unique is that each coffee is a pour over and they mix in sugar and cream to your liking. If you want one of their specialties, get the mint mojito. At this location the coffee is tasty as expected, staff are super nice, and the location is really nice - lots of comfortable seating + a cool little nook to hang out in. Happy to have this in Dana Point.

First time at Philz. I was impressed by many things! This location is very spacious with tons of places to work. They have long tables, benches, couches. The vibe is somewhat urban and loungy and I love that. Also, they have some fantastic art as well as community boards with different businesses and events advertised. My only gripe...why is the logo orange and the umbrellas and chairs outside yellow...overall I'm very happy to have a Philz in DP!

I would give it 5 stars but for a few things. I've been in here 2x now in the past month for a visit. The coffee is definitely really, really good, some of my favorite. I was not that impressed with one of the specialty beverages, but it wasn't bad-just a good way to spoil what could be an even better cup of coffee. On my most recent visit, first they lost the ticket, causing an unusually longer than normal wait. Then, when the manager or whoever it was apologized very politely, another employee remade the drink in a larger size than we asked for and iced, when I had asked for hot. So she had to remake it again hot. She gave us both drinks I guess as an appeasement for the error and extended wait time. I know it's busy and kind of hard in a place like this, but I would have preferred to have the beverage comped instead of being charged for it and another beverage which we were not going to be able to drink added. Or she could have given me a $5 gift card for the error-something like that. I just don't think getting an extra beverage and a larger size is the best way to go. I also noticed they say no dogs on the door, so the first time I went I waited outside while my friend went in and ordered for us both. Then, on that occasion and on today's visit, I see people walking in with multiple dogs and no one says anything. So which is it? These were obviously not service dogs. Please, enforce the rules or allow dogs. And now I see on Yelp it says dogs allowed. I'm so confused!I think she's the manager, there's a very petite, young lady who on the first visit offered my dog a treat as we were waiting outside, and then she was the same one who apologized to me for the drink mistake. She seems to be on top of things and attentive whenever needed. Kudos to her!I will go back, just hoping they will fine tune their operation a bit more and make the doggie rules fair for everyone.

This little coffee shop just opened. I had never been to a Philz However , it is quite different than any coffee shop. I think that you will ever go to the level of quality of coffee is absolutely outstanding.The service was good . The complicated way you order your coffee is just not for me. They have a wonderful outdoor patio and a large, indoor seating area dog, friendly kid, friendly as a matter, in fact there seemed to be more babies and more mamas than anybody else having coffee that day. And I really loved the music .

Love, love their Aromatic Arabic! Super friendly and accommodating service. Impeccably clean with a bright atmosphere. My new morning coffee spot in Dana Point.

I have been going to Philz for years and let me tell you this philz does not compare, it is the best place I've ever been to my entire life. I look forward to going to this Philz more than I do going to Disneyland. I was never like this before, I've become an extreme fan because of this place. I love you Phil and we love our baristas Carter and Charles. ‍

Admittedly, I was a skeptic about this place. $4.90 for a cup of coffee is a lot but I thought I would give it a try. After all, there are very good coffee shops in Dana Point yet this place was crowded. For the $4.90 for a 12 oz coffee you can get oat or almond milk added without extra cost. Nice. And the coffee was really first rate: I got an Ether, which had notes of molasses, dark chocolate and dried cherry. It was a first rate cup of coffee. I had some work to do and the common table was a nice place to do work. The music was pleasant and soothing and not too loud. The decor was nice, nothing too special but nice --- not funky or rustic. The staff were all very pleasant. And the people spending time here --- having a coffee, reading, working, etc. --- were all contributing to a good vibe. While I won't give up on my other favorite coffee shops in Dana Point I will add Philz to my list.

So after living in SFO and going to the original Philz coffee for the last 15 yrs I was excited to see them finally opening in S California, of course my favorite is the mint mojito hot latte but I also love the bag of Philetred soul with notes of hazelnut, maple and Carmel. If u have never been to Philz give it a go .... Welcome Philz with open arms.

We went to the first official day of the new Dana Point Philz. It's in a great location with direct access to covered parking right next door. We tried the new Winter Bliss Cold Brew and the Spiced Gratitude Cold Brew. Both were absolutely delicious and we can't wait to order them again. Service was great, friendly, and the store is gorgeous and spacious.

One of the BEST Philz Coffee's I have ever been to. Tasted like San Francisco but with friendlier vibes! The staff was super accommodating and the coffee was perfection. All of their recommendations were ideal and the pastries were delectable. Thank you for the unforgettable experience!!
