I have been eating here for decades and it never dissappoints!I have enjoyed many of the new flavors, like corned beef and cabbage, chorizo and the Italian sausage with peppers but my favorites are the original chicken and beef.I always get the opposite gravy. Chicken gravy for the Beef pasty and beef gravy for the chicken pasty. This double the flavor profile in my opinion. The cookies and turnovers are also delicious!Hearty simple quality ingredients means the food is always consistent and delicious.Everyone working here is also super nice.

This food has history and I'm loving that this hand held hefty pie has been here for so long and no one told me about it!!Location: Katella and Los Alamitos Blvd in Los Alamitos. Not sure if this is the original location, but it is located next to a historical park and the parking is in the back and on the street.Food: All pasty's but they have mostly savory and some sweet turnovers, but you're here for the meat pies. All the pies are hefty, hearty and very filling. Very fitting for a miner who wanted a meal and didn't have to go to the surface for food. The chorizo was chock full of meat and potatoes. The italian sausage was spicy and filled with potatoes also, but oh so yummy. Definitely come hungry and GET THE GRAVY. Don't forget that one. The chicken one was awesome in my book. I'd get all three again. Service was quick and prompt if not the friendliest, but I guess the idea is to get you going again without the fuss. Summary: There are no bathrooms or indoor seating. They have some outdoor picnic tables so most people took them home or ate their pies in the car. They do sell frozen pasty's and sweet turnovers and some pasty's are on offer for the season (first visit had turkey and cranberry sauce. pastys' on offer). There is no cooling off period because as soon as the pasty's are ready hot out of the oven, they are packed and given to you pronto. Bring plenty of napkins, an empty stomach, maybe a knife to split it open or for sharing; sitting in your car to eat and DON'T FORGET THE GRAVY. I didn't experience any mushy crust and even after reheating one of the pies in my toaster oven, it still held up the next day. Definitely coming here again for a pies. Thank you, miners!!! Happy eating!!

Another thumbs up for a local company. We went on Saturday and there was quite a line!We pulled up and it took a minute to find parking. The line moves fast and people are always coming and going. Don't get frustrated. This place has a very focused menu. It is not a dine in place. You are here for the meat pies and maybe some desert. Don't expect to have to make a big decision with this one. They make the pies in front of you. As soon as they come out of the oven, they are packed into the box and given to the customer. They don't spend time cooling down! Hot and fresh food. The pies are good but you need to make sure you have the gravy. The pies don't have a lot of spices. Gravy makes everything better!A couple of loose ends here... there aren't any bathrooms here. Make sure you are ready as you may need to wait in line to order. Next, the kids working on Saturday didn't appear to be the happiest. They weren't rude, just not friendly. If that is going to trigger you or make you mad, stay away so the rest of us don't have to hear about it. We are there to get our order and fill up on these perfectly baked goods. For the rest of us, don't let it bother you. The pies are worth it.

I had heard about this place from my daughter after she saw it advertised. It sounded so good. The restaurant is on a busy street but does have parking in back. It was clean inside and the young man who helped me was very pleasant. I had wanted to try their veggie hand pie, but was told they didn't have them. So I took a chicken and a sausage. I also got a peach and an apple dessert hand pie. The meat pies are very simple. The crust was okay. Thick. Not flakey. The filling was a good amount! But, not especially flavorful? The sausage hand pie had the most flavor. Also it showed a dipping sauce on their website, but none was offered. The fruit pies were very good. Especially the peach. It's simple, fare. Just not something I felt I'd be going back for right away.

Something happened here. This once excellent eatery used to have a product with a crisp crust with real chicken pieces mixed with chopped up potatoes, onion and carrots, And seasoning. Excellent! Now the crust is mushy, the chicken tastes like smashed mystery meat..,Maybe chicken? Buying them frozen is a bad idea being the instructions are incorrect. Reheating amplifies the bad taste. And they don't answer the phone being only one person speaks english there. And if he's not there, no one picks up. And ya can't leave a msg.Very sad being this once delicious eatery changed and not for the good,Good thing. They pained and cleaned up the Los Al store.

I was excited, as a meat pie enjoyer, to go out of my way to try Pasty. It feels in all senses pretty classical. From location to menu to the food itself. The meat pie was preferable. It was a lot of food, for a good price, but it doesn't really knock your socks off. It's functional and fine.

You may find yourself standing outside waiting to get into this tiny counter service shop. It's very popular. I love places that focus on a core product and nothing else. The core is the pasties available with chicken, beef, chorizo and vegetarian options. They also prepare a few side salads, some fruit turnovers and beverages. It's all you need for a complete meal No place to eat inside but there are 3 tables on the side of the building for outdoor dining.
