Best Chili Burger in SoCal. Handsdown. Always stop in when I'm in Lake Forest. Right off the 5 freeway.

I used to really like this place I haven't been for awhile, but it's really gone downhill. Absolutely terrible. The portions the burger patty is so small and so thin I got Chili fries too they didn't pack it right it made a mess everywhere and the chilli. It feels like it's from a canThe paper towels what they gave me to wipe my face they belong in the bathroom then napkin in the food bag This place was legendary now it's trash. Don't waste your money.

Really nice location. Drive through and ample parking lot. Friendly and accommodating staff. We placed a large order to go. There were only 2 workers but they were friendly and efficient. No food pics because we were sooo hungry. WARNING - to go orders will make your car smell great for days. Tommy's is the best!!!Ok, bye.

I ordered their chili cheese fries and it was like $8. Its pricey but it definitely fills you up. It looks small but you'd be surprised how filling it can be and its plenty of chili on thereI order their chili cheese fries with onions. I add ketchup to it. If you haven't tried it with that, give it a try by adding the ketchup on the side and dip your fries mixed with chili and see if you like it. I did drive thru and it looked super empty inside and at the drive thru too. There was one car ahead of me but it must have been almost 10 mins waiting for them to get their food and then like 30 seconds to get my food. I'm not sure if they're just slow at getting your food or the person before me had a huge order. Over all, this location didn't seem busy on a Sunday afternoon. I will definitely come back again as this location is closer to me.

Drive to this one in Lake Forest because sadly they closed the one in San Diego and sometimes you just need Tommy's. Best chili cheese fries around. I order mine with all the veg and it's a meal.

I have been going to Tommy's since the early 80's. It's always been tasty and an angelical delight (literally I used to get a food high - weird I know). But, I was there yesterday and so disappointed.I alway get the double cheeseburger with extra chili and chilli cheese fries.I always expect their normal fast service, and friendly/energetic people at the counter.I don't know if it's the economic state - but there were no customers and the staff of 2 were working at snails pace with zero energy. They looked as though they couldn't be bothered to take my order. They looked bothered that there was a customer. When I got my food, the chili looked/tasted old, thick and dry. Not like the usual juicy, dripping mess it has always been. It was chunky, thick and stuck to my hands and no taste. The patties looked smaller and thinner than usual. I got more bread than anything else.I didn't complain because I knew those girls could care less. I just decided that in this day and age eating some good old tasty food is no longer. I drove 20 miles for this long lost favorite meal of mine. It's a memory of ol' good times now. Is this location the poor red headed step child? Or what happend? This location has been neglected, but it's the closest to home. What is a Tommy's lover supposed to do? I dunno. I don't want to drive 20 miles and have the same experience again. It's not worth it.And, as a last thought! In n out is cheaper and a half mile away. (I still love my memories from Tommy's, but that's it. Just a memory.)

Food - the main highlight is their famous chili that has its roots in Rampart Ave in LA. Born out of bricks into their big pot to cook. Chili all over the food! From Burgers, double or single, cheese or without, hotdogs, fries(I like side of chili and cheese on this so that fries don't get soggy) and more!! If you haven't tried this, I think your missing the point of a burger joint. No frills chili cheeseburger! Delightful in every bite! No bougie burgers here!! This is one of the best working man's chili cheeseburgers!! Step aside if you are too fancy!!Service - who da what? The only service you need here is the cook and the cashier! The rest is up to you! They do clean the place somehow.Ambiance - joint to eat or drive thru. Either way, it's right! Make a mess of yourself if you may!

I was going to place a large order for super bowl. I walked in after having been on a long motorcycle ride. Asked the person where the bathroom was. He said the bathroom was for paying customers only so I could use it after I place an order. What are you? A welfare service? You treat customers like this? You never know if someone has a condition or situation but you want to be a gatekeeper for a lousy order? You people have lost my business. The place was absolutely dead. Who actually goes there? And then you play judge, jury and executioner when someone needs to use the facility? No wonder you don't have any customers. You just lost another one - for good.

Zack was enthusiastic and happy. He had a great attitude and that's hard to come by nowadays. Great job Zack, keep it up! The food was fresh and so good also. We're from San Diego and miss that location off of Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Bring it back!
