So good, I came twice this week. I first went with my partner and again the next day with more people! The tonkotsu was so rich and flavorful, after a night of drinking or a long day at the beach it really makes you feel better. My partner is still raving about the food and we will definitely be going back again and again while we're in Newport this summer! I highly recommend the tonkotsu and also the Japanese burrito!Only issue we had was we got a bottled Tea Leaf drink that was a month expired and was told it was a manufactured date when I asked, which I don't believe is true but we were able to trade it for a non expired bottle.

If you want a true mom and pop Japanese hidden gem on the Balboa Peninsula look no further! The Ramen is legit, the poke bowls are so fresh you would think you were either in Japan or Hawaii. Not to mention the sashimi portions are larger than any sushi bar I've ever been too and so so fresh! Come casual, bring your pets for outside dining and enjoy! You won't be disappointed!

I ordered the crunch roll and the tonkotsu ramen and they both did not have a ton of flavor. The service was nice though because I brought my terrier with me and the owner gave him a treat so that was so sweet of him. Overall unfortunately I would not recommend this place simply because of the flavor of the food.

Terrible service. We tried to order food and they told us they would take our order in 40 minutes and to come back. We stayed in the area to came back to place our order and the wife / owner was SO rude and refused to take our order at 6:30pm on a Saturday. They were extremely rude about it. It smelled awful and unsanitary in there. Don't recommend at all.

We were in town and this was the closest spot to eat. The food was meh. The woman serving us was incredibly rude and nasty. It was actually shocking. We couldn't figure out why. Maybe it was because she was angry she was working the day after Christmas. Maybe it was because we were interrupting her knitting. Maybe it's because we're brown. Or maybe it's because she's a miserable witch who hates her life. Who knows! How sad to live life with such a nasty attitude.

The staff was very unfriendly. After paying $60 in sushi and then tipping on top of it they refused to give me an extra side of ponzu. The food was just meh but the service is what will make me never go back.

Found the place during a drive up Balboa, so glad i did. Was craving Poke and decided to try them out. The best decision I made. Best service ordering off the menu was simple, you fill out a card of what you want for your Poke and they prepare the bowl and bon appettite If your in the area give them a try your welcome !

The sushi is really good, but I wish they would make it a restaurant with full service. The ordering at the counter and food on a paper plate make it feel less desirable
