Beautiful dragon fruit. Makes you go, "rwar!"
The grapes had to fit in with Peach somehow. "Princess Peach."
I bought a trio of the strawberries. Very delicious and ripe.

It might not be the biggest farmers market, but it's definitely the prettiest. The Newport Beach Farmer's Market is every Sunday from 9am to 1pm. It's located next to the Newport Beach pier, practically on the sand. The market is stacked with fruit and veggie vendors, fashion and jewelry, and a ton of your favorite snacks. I ended up stocking up on veggies, croissants, fresh oyster mushrooms, a turmeric tea, bean salad, and a ton of hummus for the week. The hummus vendor was my favorite by far. He was incredibly kind and offered a taste of at least 20 unique flavors. I ended up leaving the market giddy with my finds and full of hummus.

There are a number of stalls near the pier on weekends. The people who work at them are salesy and a bit aggressive but not overly so. We haven't tried any of their food, but the various things look fresh and quality from the fruit and vegetables to the bread and pastries. It can get very crowded and loud. Even if you do not buy anything, it is still a good time just to look at what they have. Go check them out sometime and take a nice walk along the beach or bike path and get some food at a restaurant in the area, although they are a little touristy and cheaper better food can be found elsewhere.

While I wouldn't make a trip to crowded Newport Beach just for this farmer's market it's still a good stop off when taking a whale watching trip on a Sunday morning. If you're here during the summer or shoulder seasons (spring and fall) parking is going to be tight. There was something I read where they validate parking but I was unable to find the parking garage and had to park down close to Marina Park and walk, not a big deal. This is a small market just in front of the Newport Pier. Smaller than the Dana Point farmers market. We were here around noon, and the bread place was pretty much sold out. Not a lot of other food vendors, just a few salsa and spread sellers. We did purchase some guac (made in fallbrook CA) and some jewelry from Vivian Ferraz.

I visited Newport Farmers market on May 5th as I was riding along beach. This market is located at 20th street in Newport Beach by Balboa Peninsula. It is very small compare to other farmers markets that I have been to. Here is the laser on this Newport Farmers Market:* One of the smallest farmer's market in OC. * Limited Vendors: o One vendor that sells flowers, o One vendor for breads,o One vendor for Zenstea which sells detoxifying teas and herbal, -I bought couple of products from them because the prices were 25% off from the store prices. o One vendor for spreads/hummus/condiments, o Two or three vendors for veggies/seasonal fruit, -I inquired about the veggies from each vendor and none were offering organic veggie or fruits. Not that it is a really big deal again but the veggie and fruit prices were far more expensive than Wholefood, Sprouts or even Mother Market organic products. I was planning to buy blueberry and strawberry but I strictly buy my berry and strawberry organic as non-organic berry and strawberry have too much pesticide on them and it is hard to wash blueberry and strawberry before eating them.o One vendor for Almond and Almond Butter -Much More expensive Almond butter than Sprouts, Mothers Market, Gerlson or Wholefoods,o One vendor for juices called "Got Green Drinks". I bought a Beet/Spinach/Apple Parsley juice for $10 in 16 Oz bottle as I wanted to support the local vendor. Sadly the 16oz juice bottle was 80% ice and 20% juice-A COMPLETE RIPOFF (lesson learned). Sort of disappointed for being nice on Sunday AM but it is what it is. :( If you arrive early AM, parking shouldn't be an issue for you but it is tough to park after 11:00AM lunch crowd on Sunday. Interestingly I noticed an info booth which had various flyers about the vendors attending that day. I did enjoy the ride along the beach but I will not waste my time next time going through the vendors. I will not return until I am done with my Zenstea package. I like the idea of supporting small farmers and don't mind paying a 20% premium but I am not going to pay 50% premium for non-organic stuff and getting ripped off by each vendor.

Coming from Laguna Beach to Newport Beach and decided to try the Newport Beach farmers market today... It was a big disappointment! The focus was on some prepared foods, lots of jewelry and only three stalls of vegetables. Not really a farmers market at all! The other problem is of course finding parking to get anywhere close to it. I will go back to the Laguna Beach farmers market instead - it's worth the drive.

Small and most definitely high end. Guess they are catering to what the Newport Beach perception is. Overall, I liked it.A really nice setting near the water and the Lido Marina. They also validate parking if you go to the Information Booth. However, you can also find free street parking nearby until 1:00.The prices are a little higher than going to the Irvine Farmer's Market but, for a Sunday jaunt, the atmosphere and the choices were pleasing. I hope this catches on with the Newport locals because they are notoriously cheap. If the ATMs around here could give out $10 bills, they would.Tried the different type of olive oils fro The Olive Press out of Sonoma (liked the late harvest best). Got a baguette from Picket Lane Bakery out of Huntington Beach. Had to run real fast, but could have chilled for a while longer. Try it. You will enjoy.

Beat the heat and the crowds by coming to Newport Beach eaaaarly in the morning. We showed up at 7:30AM on a Sunday and parking was already scarce due to the surfers, but also all the farmer's market shoppers! The Farmer's Market is located at the base of Newport Pier and is just a few feet from the beach itself. There are the usual San Diego grown flowers, and the fresh produce stands -- lots of firm and fresh looking fruit ranging from pomegranates, dragon fruit, to almost every common berry. I love to buy fruit from here because it supports the locals and the quality is pretty great: giant juicy berries and firm to the touch. There is also a variety of other stands, such as homemade pastries and jams, lots of various jarred sauces made by local artisans, and speciality goods like bags made from recycled tires, jewelry, and various beauty remedies. It's a farmer's market at a great open location and with a lovely view of the shorelines. Win, win.

It's a small farmers market. Wish there were more vendors, but if you live in the area, then it's great place to get some fresh veggies and fruits. There's free samples left and right. Everyone is pretty friendly... I didn't like Mr. Corn Tamales. They sell JUMBO tamales for $3.50, and I was not satisfied. Too much corn flour without much meat! Really??? I feel so bloated now... It's jumbo because of all the corn flour that they stuff it with. It lacked flavor. It lacked meat. Ask your neighbor's grandma to make you some! Well I wouldn't drive out to this Farmer's Market place. I just live 5 miles away and it's near the beach. It's cute. I will return, but I will not buy the tamales.

Definitely one of the smallest farmer's market in OC. Sort of reminds me of the downtown Fullerton or Anaheim FM because it's along a street sandwiched between local businesses. For being in NB, I expected it to be a little more than it was as far as variety of vendors and quantity. Only 1 vendor that sells flowers, 1 vendor for berries, 1 vendor for breads, 1 vendor for One Love Tea, 1 vendor for spreads/hummus/condiments, 1 vendor for oils, 1 vendor for jams, 2 vendors for veggies/seasonal fruit, 1 vendor for dog food, and the other vendors sold crafts, jewelry, etc. So really not much variety. I was very disappointed since I drove all the way out here.. sort of out of my way to get here.. it's on the Balboa Peninsula. What I did appreciate were 2 things: * Parking validation to park in the garage * Info Booth: this is the only FM I know that has an info booth. They have various flyers, events, and cooking demos here to showcase local chefs. Today they were doing a raffle, where you sign up and get a free basket of fresh veggies. What I did learn about the cooking demos was that the chef DO NOT bring their own ingredients ahead of time, but the veggies/fruit are donated by the vendors at the FM on that day. (I thought this was a unique concept.) Well, sadly I probably will not return. But thank you for supporting farmers and organic food!

We enjoyed the market a lot even with the rain. Beautiful jewelry stands. Although we expected more vendors.
