Never disappoints!!!! I could eat here everyday.Perfect portion, a piece bigger than your face!!The friendliness of the staff is like visiting a friend, but the pizza size, crust and taste is what keeps me coming back.

small place but you can't miss it. Yes York style pizza with the New York style mood. Service was also New York style. You can't be mad at it. 13" or so slice of pizza. one slice it enough if you get wings and cheese stick. Those are also good. Went on boat parade week so yes busy but still worth the minimal wait.

This place deserves more stars! One of the very few OG food spots here in the Balboa Fun Zone. Chatted with the owner, and he states it's still been the same family running the business since when I've been grabbing giant slices here since high school (class of 93) after surfing with my buds, and during my first years of college. Pretty sure they've been here before I discovered them but their giant NY style pizza slices still hits the spot every time I'm in the neighborhood. Crunchy and airy light crust, but still doughy enough to do "the fold" and eat properly. Default slices are cheese, and additional toppings are $1.25 each. Get the Giant slice combo with a soda for the best deal. They also have gyros, which look amazing, but honestly I've never tried. I always come for the pizza!!

Very small inside - only seating is outside. Ordered the giant slice pizza with cheese only. Pizza was good, big slice. Wide band of just crust around the edge. Crust on the thin side. Also ordered the gyro sandwich. It was a lot of food. Meat was good, tomato and red onion were super fresh and they put a lot. The tzatziki sauce did not taste like it is supposed to, didn't even seem like it had cucumber in it. That was disappointing. Pita bread was ok.

If you're looking to grab a quick bite, this place is decent. The giant slice of pizza sign caught our attention. We got the giant pepperoni pizza. The bottom was nice and crispy. It was a little greasy from the cheese and pepperoni. Not the best pizza I've ever had but it was good.

Don't recommend going here one plain cheese slices 745 and you add a topping comes out to nine dollars for one slice of pizza. I asked the guy if that was the price and his response sounded so rude. They were just sitting there doing nothing not a very welcoming vibe let me tell you, it looked disgusting anyway and rude people no thank you

This is a solid and quick pizza spot for takeout. I was in my car with two guy friends waiting for the Balboa Island ferry and when they saw this place they decided to jump out of the car to order pizza. While they waited for the pizza, we only missed one ferry so it was pretty fast! (The ferries come every few minutes) So is New York Style Pizza worth hopping out of the car for and directing people to cut in front of you in the ferry line because you're still waiting on your pizza? I think so. The pizza slices are huge and the pizza is solid. The crust isn't necessarily as thin as NY style should be, but I honestly don't think they could make it much thinner and give such large slices.

After disembarking the Balboa Island Ferry, New York Style Pizza is a straight shot up from the off-ramp on the left side. I'm a fan of thin crust pizza, so it was near impossible not to stop in for a slice after we walked by the restaurant. I ordered a slice of Cheese Pizza and added Pepperoni. My initial thought was that a single slice was pricey, but size does matter in this instance. The slice was the equivalent of an XL! Cheesy and piping hot from the oven with a crispy crust, it was exactly what I hoped for. There are a few small tables outside the restaurant but not many other places to sit. If you find yourself on the Balboa Peninsula, then stop in for some pizza pizza!
