Navy Proof Food & Spirits

This was a nice place to get a quick bite and drinks when you do t feel like getting out of the hotel. Food was good, service was great and we were there for happy hours, as well as breakfast! All of the staff that we have encountered have been quite really nice and very attentive! Service was excellent! I'm sorry I forgot the manager's name but he himself helped out during one of the breakfasts that we were there. Very welcoming and friendly too aside from being very helpful! I feel bad that I completely forgot to take pictures except for the one drink we ordered which was a beer tasting plight I think. The food was definitely good! And lots of choices of cocktail drinks, including their wide array of beers. While I may not have enjoyed much of of stay in Westin because of the big crowd due to the wedding, I felt like this place deserved to be recognized and appreciated.

They had just the right amount of sweetness and tang, making them dangerously easy to sip.For food, the Barbacoa tacos were rich, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The seasoning was spot on, and the tortillas were fresh, holding everything together without overpowering the filling. The hummus was another hit--smooth, creamy, and served with the perfect accompaniments for dipping. It was a great light option to balance out the heartier tacos.Service was friendly and efficient, making the experience even more enjoyable. Nice spacious place in the lobby of the Westin Long Beach where we are staying! They close every night at midnight and we came here for breakfast. We ordered the breakfast burrito and Longshoreman breakfast along with unlimited refills of Starbucks coffee. They serve breakfast until noon. Portions are great as well as the friendly service

What a great place. I had some serious difficulty with the hotel itself (I'll leave another review on that) but the restaurant is tremendous. I wasn't going to try to eat here because it does look pretty pricey (that's why they lost a star). I had to visit the front desk five separate times because of issues with my room door either not shutting or not opening. Finally on my fifth visit I told the front desk person that I was getting frustrated, I'm trying to spend my time with my family and visit the city. I ended up getting some free breakfast vouchers, and I probably ended up getting $250 worth of free product.First off, I want to say something about our server Benny. We had him both days we had breakfast. What an outstanding server and kind person. When he found out my kids spoke Spanish, he helped them practice their Spanish. He was very attentive, kind, and wished us a safe trip when he discovered we were leaving.The food was great. You can tell everything is high quality and the ingredients were really fresh. Even the tortilla chips were visibly homemade. Even though I had difficulty with this hotel and its staff, I'd honestly come back just to eat here and see Benny again. Bravo, guys.

*This will be an inclusive review of my experiences with both breakfast and lunch service*Arriving at the hotel, i was attending a conference for the week with my organization. I decided to head downstairs and eat at the restaurant, Navy Proof Food & Spirits. The restaurant is open spaced with the lobby. The selections were various but decided to go with the Babacoa tacos and shared a calamari shrimp appetizer also a carrot cake for dessert.Flavorful and well seasoned. No issues with any of the choices Breakfast the next day, decided to pick the Eggs Benedict. Another solid choice with no complaints. The restaurant staff were nice as well and attentive. Overall good. Nothing I found a concern. But something noteworthy to mention but was not a restaurant concern but a hotel one. I will save it for the hotel and not towards Navy Proof staff for something out of their control.

The Westin Long Beach is a beautiful hotel and this lobby restaurant and bar is a treat! The service was excellent. We received such friendly treatment from our server in the comfortable seating area. I ordered the salmon toast and it was a huge portion! I could have easily shared with my colleague. There were two full slices with so much smoked salmon on top! It was delicious. I would not recommend ordering a side of eggs. I was hoping for fresh eggs but got boxed eggs instead that did not taste great.

Overall good spot!! The food is better then most hotels in my opinion. I enjoyed the burger and energy here. For the price point for the burger was huge, and came with some delicious fries and a side of pickles and carrots.The server with the glasses and dark facial hair was on the ball and really made my experience great. Try this spot!!!!I also had the margarita, it was solid but comes with big old fashion type ice cubes, I like smaller ice cubes in my cocktails..

Came to eat here every single day for 5 days while we were in Long Beach for the Cali Vibes Festival and we never got tired of the food! The food is good, it comes out quickly and staff is nice. I understand that it was a hard weekend to work due to the festival so it did get EXTREMELY busy at times where service was slow, but no reason to dock them stars for that. Everyone was doing the best they could and was trying to give maximum service to everyone at the same time. Our breakfast was included with our stay and we never got tired of it. They had a good variety but my favorite was definitely the huevos rancheros. I got that 3 days in a row! The coconut chia seed pudding was also my favorite from the half portions that also came included. Our stay also included daily free wine or beer flights and we didn't miss a day! I loved their pinot noir the most and my husband's favorite beer was the Chronic amber ale. It's an open restaurant so you can see everyone that walks in and out to check in and out. The highlight of the weekend was seeing the lead singer of one of my favorite reggae bands check in! It's also first come first serve so you don't need to wait to be seated!

Enjoyed Sunday brunch! The open area was casual and you have the option to eat at the bar or table. We found a table where Ben, our server, was very attentive and his service was great. We didn't wait long to get our food and it was nice fresh and hot..

Located in the Westin Long Beach, this restaurant can stand on its own. The pork belly poutine was outstanding and their take on a Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful. The summer spritz cocktail was refreshing and well balanced. Service was a little slow, but I did come in during the no man's land between lunch and happy hour.
