This mochi donut stand is part of the mini food court in the Mitsuwa Store in Irvine (I call it "Little Mitsuwa"). They sell 18 flavors of mochi donuts as well as some coffee drinks and soft serve. I've noticed this place on my frequent trips to shop in Mitsuwa over the past couple years and on this particular day decided to give them a try.I ordered an iced Hawaiian Latte plus two mochi donuts. I've not been much of a fan of mochi donuts in the past so stepped out of my comfort zone and ordered two with more than just a flavored glaze: a cinnamon crunch and also a fruity pebbles. Both of the cereal-topped mochi donuts were okay. The crunchy toppings provided nice texture with the fruity pebbles adding more flavor than the rather bland cinnamon crunch. The donuts themselves were dense, slightly chewy, and overall pretty good. I still prefer a normal doughnut. The iced latte was made with coffee from the Honolulu Coffee Company which had excellent flavor. It was mixed with coconut milk. The nice woman I ordered it from told me something about macadamia nut too but if there was any macadamia flavoring in the latte I couldn't detect it. Regardless, it was quite tasty.

Tried this at the Taste of Japan event a few weeks ago when they had a booth. Probably one of the only and best looking dessert booths at the event! We got the banana salted caramel crepe on the way out for the 1 hr drive home but that was a mistake. It was incredibly hot out and it was melting in SECONDS. I had whipped cream and it's not very "eater friendly" lol. It's wrapped in a very tight paper cone thing and you can't really unwrap it in a good way because then the whole thing just falls apart. The bottom was already soggy from whatever cream seeped through. We basically just had to gobble it up in the messiest way possible. The Mochi was towards the bottom but it was very good. Loved every bit of it but boy would I much rather have a plate lol. Other than that, it was delicious and would definitely come back to try their other items. IG: @ammysalamii

Located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace Store. When you enter walk straight down to the back wall. You will see this little Mochill setup and sign. The staff were friendly and they had a variety of 15 types of mochi donuts which made it so hard for me to choose! I ended up with a dozen box of assorted donuts. Absolutely loved the black sesame and salted caramel flavors. The best! Kids loved the Oreo Cookie and Cinnamon sugar flavors. They are placed in cute boxes that would make a cute gift to friends, teachers, etc.

If you've never had a mochi doughnut, and you hate the overly sweet, nasty, American donuts! You'll love this version. A lot more mouth feel and chewier, I love the texture. If you've ever had mochi, you can tell it's in these donuts. LOL. We were getting ramen next-door and my little guy wanted a treat. The selection was mind blowing. Everything looked beautiful! We ordered the blue whatever you call it papa Smurf donut. It was surprisingly good. Not so much sugar like an American donut. I can't wait to come back and get a big old fancy box of different flavors.

Tried mochi donuts for the first time and they did not disappoint. Who wouldn't love chewy donuts?!We got a few to try -MangoStrawberryNutellaSalted caramelFruity pebblesCaptain Crunch They were all really good. However my favorite was definitely the Nutella. They not only have mochi donuts but also brioches, French puffs, cronuts and mochisada. Which I cannot wait to try each of them next time. We also ordered an iced oatmilk matcha which was tasty. Great place if you have a sweet tooth as they have so many options.

After having lunch at the food court here I stopped by this place to pick up some desserts to go. They have a lot of different options and flavors, but I went with my gut and got some of my basic favorites. I just got a couple of mochi donuts, one matcha green tea and one black sesame flavored. Service was quick and easy, I loved the little box my donuts came in. I ate them later that night and they had stayed fresh in the box. The donuts were chewy and had an even glaze. I preferred the black sesame flavor as it is my favorite. It had that great nutty taste with a hint of sweetness. Would recommend getting your mochi donuts here, they're a great treat after grocery shopping at Mitsuwa.

My daughter and I were sad to see that Modo was gone. This time visiting Mitsuwa, we were very surprised to see a newcomer to the little food court area. My daughter had their strawberry frappuccino. It was delicious! Their chocolate dipped mochi-donuts are delicious. We didn't quite enjoy the strawberry mochisada. I think the chocolate and cookies n cream took the thunder instead.A more recent visit, we got the 6 mochi-donut special. We enjoyed everything except the strawberry one. The brownie was very good. We came on a Saturday around lunch time and it was very busy.
