Memphis Cafe absolutely nailed it with their incredible comfort food--this place was soooo good!I had the shrimp and grits, and let me just say...it was "slap yo' mamma" good! The dish was perfection, with prawns, poached eggs, red eye gravy, and crispy fried okra. The prawns were cooked beautifully, and the crispy fried okra on top added the perfect texture. Every flavor in this dish was spot on, and I loved every bite.My husband had the brioche, grilled corned beef, crispy potato cakes, poached eggs, and chipotle hollandaise, but since we're pescatarian, he swapped the corned beef for fried catfish (for a small upcharge). The substitution worked perfectly, and he devoured the dish in what felt like 60 seconds - it was that good!We also ordered a buttermilk pancake for the table, and I'm so glad we did. I love a proper buttermilk pancake, and this one hit all the marks: light, fluffy, and with the perfect taste of buttermilk. We loved the staff, too! They were so hospitable and sweet.Memphis Cafe was so amazing that we're planning to add it to our rotation for trips home from Palm Springs to LA. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

This is my new favorite breakfast place It's very unassuming when you drive up but when you get inside and taste the food your taste buds will thank you. I always order their famous Shrimp and green cilantro and Serrano infused grits with bbq shrimp poached egg and fried okra on top and I enjoy it with a Bloody Mary or sometimes I will get an Espresso Martini. Anyone who hasn't eaten here must try it. I guarantee you'll thank me. Just do it

Find the parking spot, it's worth the struggle. You'll be welcomed by the kind staff and in food coma by the end. What to order well when in Memphis anything fried. The fried chicken sandwich was DELISH. And the fried shrimp southern taco was surprisingly lite. If food coma hadn't hit, I would totally have had some dessert. Next time!

Service was excellent and food was delicious. We had the Brussel sprout appetizer and Bacon Wrapped Shrimp. So filling and very well cooked. I got the fried catfish, and everything on there was great. The only thing I didn't like was the batter on the fried catfish. I think it had like a grainy texture and taste and maybe needed some salt. They got the crispy crunch perfect though. Mocha coffee was okay and cup wasn't filled all the way because of the whipped cream but server was awesome and she refilled my cup and gave me more mocha sauce and cream. I loved the jazz/blues I think music they were playing. We had made reservations through YELP and by the time we arrived, we were ready to be seated. Inside was small but able to fit maybe like 8 groups of 4 people. There was bar top seating too. Definitely would come back again to try their meatloaf and I forgot what else they were known for that the server mentioned. Overall, great southern food! The pictures might not be good looking but honestly I enjoyed it a lot!

We went to Memphis Cafe around 7:30 pm and we chose to sit in the patio area. The patio is not cute at all, but I don't think that's what they were going for. I felt just a little uncomfortable because we were sitting on chairs that were literally on slightly unstable ground. However, it was tolerable. I chose the catfish po'boy (cuz the shrimp one was popcorn shrimp). The flavor was barely there (the one I make taste better). I also tried the loaded potato cake and well..... Needless to say I wasn't really impressed by the food. Our waitress however, was lovely.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place!!! We had a large party of 9 and she quickly accepted us and sat us down in a reasonable timeframe. It was a little dark where they sat us (I hate dark places to eat but it won't take away from my review of this location). I LOVED the gumbo-seriously get the gumbo... the chicken sandwich was delicious! My po-boy was HUGE (a little salty but I understand blackened tends to be salty). My children even rated the kids meal (chicken tenders) a 5 star! Will come back for the gumbo without question

Holy cannoli this place is bomb, I hadn't had the chance to try it until now but since landing a new job just 3 miles away I figure I should try their Happy Hour (Tues-Friday 3-6) since it's too far otherwise. Speaking as a perpetual deal finder and foodie this place did NOT disappoint. Gravy fries was $6, gumbo was $7 and the chicken and waffles was $8. The waffle heckin buttery and there was a nice crisp on the chicken. Gravy wasn't too greasy and the gumbo had nice flavor without being too spicy. The fries were a little bit lukewarm but with warm gravy on top and at 6 fricken bucks I hardly cared. This place is small (only about 10 tables and an L shaped bar) and parking is limited so avoid lunch/dinner rushes since parking will be a bear. HIGHLY recommend!
