Likes:+ The Curry Nikutama has so much meat! For just $15! No wonder it's their popular item.+ Clean interior decor. Vibrant atmosphere.+ Friendly, helpful staff.+ Various utensils and condiments readily available by the order pick-up station.+ Your pick-up order is well labeled so you can easily spot it from afar.. Ample but often crowded parking lot.. They're not on UberEats. Extra $4-5 cost on DoorDash. If ordering online, better go on vendor website.. Personally I prefer not having to walk deep into the restaurant to pick up my to-go order.

this is the new Marugame at diamond jamboree! this location is not too crowded, although the diamond jamboree parking lot on weekends is very. I recommend getting there earlier or parking in the garage / at Hmart to secure a spot.we got: - 2x curry nikutama- miso beef- zucchini, egg, shrimp, and squid tempurathe total for our meal was $55 - very fairly priced!I normally get the nikutama, which I like a lot more than the miso beef. I think marugame is great when you are super hungry, but a little heavy otherwise. the service was quick and friendly. one of the servers even helped my dad carry his tray to the table.right now you can receive coupons that are "buy one specialty bowl and get a specialty drink for free"!

It's great that they've opened a new Marugame in the area, and it's even more spacious than the one at South Coast. This new location offers more seating, though some tables can still be packed pretty tight (like sardines lol). If parking is an issue, which it often is in DJ, you can park in the overflow lot - there's usually plenty of space there. The staff is super friendly and even offers to take your tray to your table. The udon is fresh, and I personally always go for the curry nikutama. I noticed another reviewer was upset about an egg being added to their bowl (even though it's pictured), so if you're not a fan of runny/close to raw eggs, keep that in mind. After grabbing all your items, pay at the register, then help yourself to a water cup, utensils, tempura sauce and spicy chili powder.

Curry nikutama - udon bouncy and chewy. curry broth had a subtle flavor, though it was a bit on the watered-down side and not very salty. generous beef toppings were tender, with a slight sweetness. poached egg added a creamy richness that tied everything together. The space is a bit limited, with tables positioned closely together, making it a challenge to squeeze through while holding your udon. However, the staff is attentive and ready to assist, ensuring you're comfortable as you navigate to your seat. Shop located in DJ which is always packed - extra parking available in nearby parking structure.

Newest addition to Diamond Jamboree right next to H-Mart. Been waiting for a while for this place to open and glad it is here, otherwise, I think I would have to go to South Coast Plaza. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered Curry Nikutama (L), the Nikutama (regular) and the Tonkotsu. I also added a fried chicken and tamago. The udon were firm and chewy, the way I enjoyed it. The curry was full of flavor with sever large pieces of beef. It can get a bit heavy, so be forewarned. The Tonkotsu had a bit of a kick to it but otherwise was hefty in flavor. This is one of the best "fast food" places to go if you're in a rush, assuming the line doesn't get too crazy. Interior is clean and there's a counter for you to get your own water, utinsil, napkins, etc. Parking can be a challenge because, well, you're in Diamond Jamboree. Enjoy!

I'm so happy they' opened one in Irvine! We are always in the area and I've been a fan of Marugame for years. My favorites are the vegan option and the curry one. Customer service was top notch and I really loved how inviting and friendly the staff was. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Something to note- parking is always a little challenging here. There's a parking structure in the back of the restaurant with several floors.

We love Marugame Udon! Their Nikutama and Chicken Katsu Teriyaki Bowl are so good. Their tempura is always fresh, crisp and yummy. The line is always long but it goes by fairly quickly. I never have any trouble finding a table after ordering and paying for my food. The staff is always friendly. The restaurant is casual and clean. If there is one thing I can say, the rice is sometimes hard in the rice bowls. Always look forward to Marugame Udon visits!

I am usually not a big fan of udon, but Marugame Udon is a restaurant I would recommend to friends and family. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and operates in a streamlined fashion with workers splitting evenly across each station to keep the cooking process smooth and efficient. On top of the fast service, it's cheap and delicious. There are also varieties of tempura add-ons that are freshly fried and up for grabs. I ordered a large curry udon, chicken katsu, shrimp tempura, and tamagoyaki. The udon was coated with the flavorful curry sauce, and I enjoyed every bite. The chicken katsu was one of THE BEST I have ever had. It was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. In contrast, the shrimp tempura and tamagoyaki were okay, nothing stood out to me. Moreover, the difference between regular/large was unnoticeable (content-wise) aside from the bowl size. I would come back for a regular portion next time.

Great food, great customer service. I ordered the Nikutama, the udon was fresh and very flavorful. I also ordered the tempura which was very light and crunchy. A must try is the refreshing iced calamansi-ade. Great experience and exceptional customer service, thank you Niko!

If you want the freshest udon, the freshest perfectly cooked tempura, and if you're looking for an iced Matcha, this is the place to go. The food was exceptional. The staff was warm, inviting, and very helpful. Two staff members carried our trays to our table which was super nice and I think it was the exception for opening day. I didn't catch their names but they were fabulous. I did catch the extremely sweet person who helped us clear our table. Thank you, Niko for all your help. Highly recommended and will be a weekly must go on our rotation.
