Mama's Ono Bites

I ordered yesterday and already wants to eat the shrimp again. Good thing I have an order in for Monday lunch already. Hahahahaha The garlicky shrimp- it's delicious and reminds me of Hawaii! That's what I am ordering again on Monday for lunch! Shhh, Don't tell on me. My doctor just reminded me of my cholesterol, but the shrimp is worth it!Musubi- hubby said, 'oh it's good!' Kalua pork- moist and flavorful.Hamburger steak- more sauce please.Portions are big, And the chef delivers. Enjoy authentic Hawaiian food at the comfort of your home, delivered? Priceless.

I first discovered Mama's Ono Bites via Instagram, when the owner Kristy was solely offering delivery of her Hawaiian plate lunches, spam musubi, and other foods inspired by her home state. Now she's on regular rotation at Noble Ale Works (Mondays and Wednesdays), so I always know where to find her when I need a Hawaiian food fix.She has many Hawaiian plate lunch staples on her menu such as kalua pig and cabbage, Teriyaki beef, barbecue chicken, macaroni salad - but it's her garlicky shrimp and her kalua pork egg rolls that really made her stand out and has me wanting to eat her food time and time againMama's Ono Bites also creates special dishes just for the Noble Ale Works crowd, and as one of my fav beer spots in OC, I like seeing what she comes up with. She has these great new pretzel sticks that are awesome, and I recently stopped by Noble for more spam musubi (hers is so good) and a combo plate featuring her chicken bites alongside the teri beef and kalua pig - the chicken was made exclusive for Noble! We've been eyeing Mama's Ono Bites for a couple of months now--so glad we finally ordered!We got a half tray of kahlua pork, a half tray of garlic shrimp, a half tray of macaroni salad (a must-get side for a true Hawaiian plate lunch feel), and two spam musubis. Too bad Kristy was out of eggrolls because my goodness is her food onolicious! The garlic shrimp made us so happy because it was ALREADY PEELED so all the yummy garlic sauce actually flavors the shrimp meat, not just the discarded shells. So delicious and easy to eat. This was definitely a winner! But the kahlua pork was also on point--nice and smokey and juicy and tender. Love that there's cabbage in it cuz I really need some greens to round out this protein-heavy meal!The portions are huge--each half tray was super heavy and packed! Kristy is definitely NOT skimping on the meat, and her pricing is totally reasonable, especially with free delivery!Kristy was also super easy to communicate with via text. We paid by Venmo, and she arrived exactly on time. We couldn't ask for more!We definitely want to try the beef next time, along with some kahlua pork eggrolls, and, of course, more garlic shrimp!

ABSOLUTE MUST!! Who would think some of the best Hawaiian food I'd ever have would be served in the parking lot of a brewery?! But that's exactly what just happened!Had to try a little bit of everything and I'm glad I did! Had a plate that comes with rice and macaroni salad with chicken and beef and got an extra side of garlic shrimp and a spam musubi! Best musubi I've ever had, hands down!!The chicken is the perfect amount of crispy and juicy and the homemade teriyaki sauce brings the perfection all together! The shrimp and chicken were both flash fried to create the texture we all crave. And the beef was tender and juicy too.Legit didn't have anything I won't be back to have more of! I was told that the macaroni salad was made the "right way" and sure enough it didn't disappoint either. And to think all of this is done with a minimal setup. Going to have to hire her to cater an event or two.And to top it all off, Kristy (owner) is a beautiful human being inside and out. Like for real, what are you waiting for?!? Come this fire!!

Discovered this gem on a homemade Facebook group page and I did not regret it! Since my partner and his family is Hawaiian, it was a must try! His family definitely approved and each time we order is always the same. We've been ordering from here when we crave authentic Hawaiian food. L&L got nothing on Mama Ono! Portions are generous and the food is amazing! Must try are the kalua pork egg rolls! Such a genius idea and it's a must with every meal. We basically tried almost everything Mama Ono offers and everything is worth the price. I don't have a favorite since everything is so good. She even has garlic butter shrimp! It's very greasy and fattening but it's soooo good.

It's hard to find authentic Hawaiian food in OC. Lots of places are just meh and are not run by anyone from Hawaii. NEWS BREAK, I found one and so happy to eat ono grinds! Mama's Ono Bites is transplanted family from Oahu that serves up plate lunches and spam musubi at Noble Ale Works in Anaheim. Good Hawaiian food pairs perfectly with beer so it's a match made in paradise! We ordered the Teri Beef and Garlicky Shrimp plate lunches. Never disappoints because it's made with aloha! The hubby loves the Teri Beef. I love the Garlicky Shrimp. The hubby has to stop me from licking the foam container clean. The sauce is amazing! The rice is good and what I expect in a plate lunch. The Mac salad has good flavor too.

First of all -- with a name like Mama Ono's -- how could you not be interested right? i ordered the garlic shrimp and it was delish. i dont know if it was best i ever had good but it was definitely i'll have it again good. for $14, I don't think you can beat the portions. the shrimp were not tiger sized but they were big enough to carry the sauce and garlic flavor. i think i counted double digit shrimp (first time ever!!) -- and they went through the trouble of peeling it for you so only the tail is left on. seriously that's a lot of TLC there.now that that's out of the way -- the main reason i'm writing a review was because i really appreciated the sincerity of the person who helped me. i think maybe she is the owner as well. silly me thought i could drop by the yelp location and pick up to go even though it specifically states delivery only. when we called to figure out where they were at and realized they actually have a B&M location, i was ready to put my dunce cap on and take that drive of shame back home. but she was so nice and insistent that we try the garlic shrimp -- even willing to deliver all the way to where we live later in the day just so we could taste it. luckily it didn't have to come to that -- we figured something out that was more convenient for the both of us so there was a happy ending to this story. when she greeted us -- she had a big smile on her face -- the food was piping hot and i could smell the deliciousness way before i even opened up the box. she even followed up later to thank us for coming out to try the food.and the whole time -- she did not mention anything about yelp or google or insta, etc so of course i had to go and write a review about it right? oh the irony.. these days i'm used to owners and employees greeting us with hi my name is ______. could you please write a great review for us on yelp, google, tag us on insta.... blah blah blah all before we even get a chance to enjoy our FIRST BITE. i get it -- its tough these days. no one is getting a fair shot and you gotta do what you gotta do to succeed and survive.but it is very refreshing when you see someone who is genuinely more focused on making people smile through their food than they are about getting likes and hits.so trust me when i say that these are words that a check in or a free milk tea can't buy.

We got my sister's graduation party catered by mama Onos Bites and it was delicious! I highly recommend ordering from her for any sort of event or just to swing by for lunch or dinner. We will be using her for future events as well!

Love Hawaiian food and Mama's Ono Bites offer delicious Hawaiian food! Seriously loved every bite! Their portion is huge and their food is so good! I felt like I was invited to a home to eat some delicious home made Hawaiian food! - Garlicky Shrimp: so garlicky and flavorful! Sooo good! Just like what I had in Hawaii! - Hamburger steak: super delicious! Brought me back to Hawaii! - Kailua Pork & Cabbage: super flavorful and juicy meat omg so yummy - Hawaiian BBQ Chicken: juicy and tender! Loved it!- Spam Masubi: classic, simple yet delicious! - Kalua Pork Rolls: super crispy and delicious Definitely recommend! Perfect for the family dinner!

Luckily came across Mama's Ono Bites on Instagram and immediately ordered a family meal for lunch. We ordered the BBQ chicken and Kahlua pork family meal. With spam musubi and Kahlua pork egg rolls on the side.Everything tasted so good! It took us back to when we vacationed in Hawaii at the beginning in big of the year. Definitely hit the spot! Even after having seconds, we still had enough left over for the next day to devour. It was so delicious! Nothing can compare to Mama Ono's
