Mama's Comfort Food is hands down one of my favorite spots, and it's clear I'm not the only one who feels that way--this place is always busy, even on a Wednesday night! While it's always crowded, it's honestly a testament to just how good the food and atmosphere are. If you're not willing to wait for a table, you're missing out.First off, the happy hour here is fantastic. They offer some amazing drink specials, and the small bites on the menu during this time are just as great. It's a perfect way to unwind after a long day or meet up with friends for a laid-back evening. Their cocktails are well-crafted, and the beers on tap never disappoint. But let's talk about the food. Whether you're in the mood for something comforting and familiar or craving something a little different, Mama's has you covered with their extensive menu. Their Southern-inspired dishes are a highlight--everything from crispy fried chicken to their rich mac and cheese. Each dish is perfectly seasoned and served in generous portions, making it hard not to indulge a little too much! I've also had some great veggie options, which are always fresh and flavorful. And if you're a fan of their daily specials, you'll always find something unique to enjoy. The vibe here is warm and inviting, with a homey feel that makes you feel like you're sitting down to a meal at your grandma's house--if your grandma happened to run a super popular restaurant! The staff is always friendly and attentive, and while it can get a little hectic during peak hours, they never fail to make you feel taken care of.All in all, Mama's Comfort Food continues to impress me, time after time. It's a go-to spot for great food, good vibes, and a solid happy hour. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and check it out--you won't be disappointed!

We went to Mama's for breakfast on a Sunday - Arrived about 20 mins before they opened and there was already a line forming! Parking is tight (meaning parking spots are compact) and there isn't many spaces. Apparently I've been here before years ago but don't remember eating there! I wanted their breakfast pizza, but when I found it it's 8 or 9 slices and the base is gravy I changed to the Grilled Sourdough Breakfast Melt ($20.99). Two thick pieces of sourdough bread supports two eggs, your choice of ham/sausage/bacon, an avocado, tomatoes, and mozzarella smothered with a garlic aioli. I should have substituted a salad for the potatoes, but the potatoes were soft on the inside and were good, but they aren't something I'd get again. The sandwich was flavorful and very filling (I ate half and was full!).My husband got their chicken and waffles ($24.99) with a side of bacon and two eggs for an additional $7.99. My husband said he would not order the sides again and really liked his dish. He said his chicken was juicy and he really liked the gravy. I tried it but wasn't impressed. I didn't care for the gravy's taste and I thought the chicken was just okay.By the time we left (which was closer to 10 am, there was a wait. If you have a big party (Like 10 or more) make reservations at least a day or two before you plan on going. And if you don't want to wait in line, try to get there at least 10 mins before they open.

Finally had the opportunity to give Mama's Comfort Food & Cocktails a try, and it didn't disappoint one bit. Called in the day before to make reservations for eight and arrived just shortly before 10:00 a.m. While the patio was quite empty, the inside dining room was packed, with people waiting in line to get in. We were seated shortly after arrival, and the service here was just outstanding!! I opted for the waffles and chicken, which were good but not great, but still good!! The bottomless Mimosas didn't disappoint either, and our waitress did a great job keeping our glasses filled. Overall, this was a great dining experience with a nice ambiance and friendly service.

I've tried the Huntington Beach location and it was just OK. This time around my experience was way better. Parking was easy to find in the lot behind the restaurant. The restaurant itself is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was quick and efficient. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was tasty and came in pretty big portions!

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet. I guess since it's been a while since the last time I went I will have to review the most recent visit but I do remember them having great happy hour menu and drinks so I will have to go back for that one day! Anyway, brunch at mamas was great! Katie our server was awesome also. I guess we had a miscommunication with which Mac and cheese I wanted that she gave me the children's price for the adult Mac that we got. That adult Mac was great btw! Bacon and I can taste the flavors too! It was def good! We all enjoyed it. I loved my bobs breakfast bomb also. All the meats in one bun..... how can you go wrong? And the breakfast potato's !!! Wow! MySon devoured his chicken and waffles and my husband loved his skillet! All in all a great visit to mamas! And we will def be back! Their prices are decent for the size you are getting. What can we do right? It's 2025! Haha prices just keep going up but mamas is def not going anywhere! Will be back for more

Opening in 2011, Mama's Comfort Food & Cocktails - Los Alamitos, serves up a large selection of uniquely named dishes based on universally loved 'comfort' foods. The inside atmosphere reminded me of a modern sports bar, with a lot of fun activities and dishes. Using decent sized portions with commercial grade ingredients keeping the price a good value, it has a large selection of dishes for B/L/D that should keep every member of your party (large or small) satisfied. We stopped by for a late breakfast (around 10:30), and found parking in their dedicated parking lot (important to park in clearly marked spots). One of the signs that greets you on entry is the one for Thrifty Ice cream, and we later learned that you can add it to almost any dish ('Tout a la mode?'). They are also known for their bottomless mimosas and 'Mama Mia' party pizza. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and given a comfortable booth. The menus are the disposable 'newspaper' type, which honestly I'm not a fan of, since they can get a bit ratty. I already knew what I wanted to order, since they have an excellent web site describing each dish. Our server, Skylar, stopped by a couple minutes later. We placed our order and got large glasses of ice water. The dishes came out about 10 minutes, and with the payment being processed at-table, the entire dining experience was completed in well under an hour.In terms of the food, for having such a large menu, I thought it was OK to good. All of it tends toward being heavy, and would go great with alcohol (hence the name of the restaurant).Melissa's Steak Benny with Roasted Potatoes ($23.99) - a version of Eggs Benedict, with steak replacing the Canadian bacon. I read this on the on-line menu, and the steak was described as 'New York Steak' chunks, which sounded great, with accompanying asparagus. However, as I ate it, it was some of the toughest NY steak I've ever had. Now as I am writing this review and inserting the picture of the menu, I realized the description is different on the real menu: it's hangar steak..which makes a lot more sense...plus there was no asparagus or A1 sauce. I thought the rest of the dish really showed the use of frozen ingredients, with the english muffin being too small for the dish and the hollandaise sauce being old. The roasted potatoes were good, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. But the accompanying onions and green peppers were from frozen and it really showed...limp and flavorless. Tried it...now will move on to a different dish next time.Mama's Famous Chicken 'n Waffle ($24.99) - shared by my wife and mother-in-law and both of them loved it. The two large pieces of chicken were boneless, crispy and hot. The waffle was wheat (which my wife usually doesn't like), but she stated that she really enjoyed this one because it wasn't so 'grainy'. I took a small bite and agreed.I understand why this place is so popular: a great variety of dishes, well run operations, decent food prices due to the popularity of alcoholic drinks. Definitely will come back when back in the area.

Came here Saturday for a 12 reservation and i was 15 mins late and my party of 9 had already been sat. Plenty of street parking and a lot in the back. The food coming within 15 mins is insane! The pancakes were good not amazing. Super fluffy soaking up that syrup. Only 1 syrup bottle for this whole table? lol I had to ask for more But the waffle just one bite and i regret ordering my 4 pancakes. They didn't equal up to one bite of the waffle. The amount of cinnamon gotta be a scientific perfect amount. Not making this mistake again. My eggs and turkey sausage were both good as wellOur waiter was pretty good, i say that because he replaced our dirty utensil pretty fast but never really came by to refill waters the 3 hrs we were there. Another staff member snapped a photo of us for the bday memoryI'd come back and order one of the signature dishes. Pretty big menu for brunch and dinner. Outside patio seating and inside with tvs. Looks like they got everything here honestly

I've been eyeing this restaurant for a while but have never taken the opportunity to go! The ambiance was nice, it's a great place for casual meetups and for groups also. Food: everything ordered was good but not great! I think their menu items have a lot of potential but at least with the apps and entrees we ordered the seasoning was lacking. I'm big on flavor! Other than that, the food was more than decent and I would return to give their breakfast a try as well. We ordered the same sandwich, Cajun chicken sandwich however I subbed the chicken for rib eye. The rib eye was tender but not flavorful. I love that they serve breakfast ALL day. The menu is vast & has plenty of options. They have unique dessert options & it was pretty cool that they serve thrifty ice cream. The forget me not mocktail was cute & also tasty! I appreciated the service - our waitress was attentive and accommodating. My bf even wanted to change one of the tvs to a different football game & she accommodated his request. I will be back to try other menu items.
